Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 8)

Large, comfortable, centrally-located home with private pool and hot tub offers all the amenities, comfort and fun you could wish for to make the most of your Coronado beach vacation. Enjoy morning coffee on the sundeck before you walk or bicycle to world-famous Coronado beach for an afternoon of swimming-- or tan poolside in the privacy of your own yard. At sunset, fire up the BBQ and grill on the patio; enjoy the outdoor firepit as the evening cools, and finish off with a glass of wine as you stargaze from the hot tub.

This classic craftsman 4 bedroom/4 bath home sleeps 8. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The first floor bedroom features a classic oak craftsman double bed and shower bath with artisan tile. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with its own private full bath; one bedroom features a four-poster queen pillowtop bed, and the other has a sweet Scandinavian pine double bed. Also upstairs is the spacious master suite, which offers a king bed, window seat, sitting area, TV/DVD, ceiling fan, and french doors to outdoor balcony/sun deck with chaise lounge. The luxurious master bath features artisan tilework, marble countertops, double sinks, spacious shower with a steam shower and deep soaking tub for two with jets and lights. Many windows so it's light and airy throughout, with pleasant ocean breezes, birdsong in the morning, and gorgeous sunsets from the balcony.

You will live in the kitchen/family room, which offers ample space for all to cook, eat, and relax together. Gourmet kitchen features cherry cabinetry, granite counters, farm house sink, subzero refrigerator with ice maker, double convection ovens, wolf six-burner range with griddle, microwave and dishwasher, plenty of counter space, and pretty much any kitchen utensil you may need to whip up waffles for breakfast or margaritas by the pool. Counter sits 4; table sits 4 but can open to accommodate 8 (not to mention the formal dining room, which can seat another 10 people!). The family room opens onto the covered patio with gas grill, outdoor dining, the hot tub and your own private swimming pool. Enjoy movies on the widescreen HD TV from netflix and blu-ray DVDs. Card table, board games and puzzles abound. The formal living room offers a quiet spot to relax with a good book by the fireplace or play the piano.

This house features a perfect village location: easily walk to Orange Avenue for shops, groceries, banks, restaurants, and the vintage Village movie theater. Walk to Spreckels park (especially nice for Sunday evening concerts in the park), the public library, the city tennis courts (or library tennis courts)-- even the golf course (catch the July 4th fireworks!). Bike everywhere-- the beach, the ferry landing, across the Bay, down the Strand-- biking is the way to go during the summer in Coronado, and our convenient location makes everything accessible. Take an evening stroll to the Hotel Del Coronado, only a few blocks away; nearby you can rent sailboats, motorboats, jet skis or kayaks on the Bay. At Glorietta Park, check out Coronado's new boathouse, which offers rowing sculls, stand-up paddleboards and kayaks. San Diego's world-class attractions are just 10 minutes across the bridge: SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and more. You'll want to stay forever in our island paradise-- check our calendar below to reserve your stay.

What makes this house unique

We are grateful every day for our beautiful island home. We wake to birds singing in the trees outside our window; take a jog along the beach or hit the bike path; walk our errands in the village; breathe in the beautiful gardens that surround us; soak away troubles in the hot tub; thrill to the summer fireworks; and relax in the peace and quiet of the neighborhood.

Can't Wait To Go Back

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six, spent an absolutely wonderful month in this home. We can't wait to go back. It is a beautifully restored craftsman style home, that is very clean and well maintained. The owners took particular care to add special touches that make the home welcoming and charming.

All one needs to bring are their clothes. The kitchen has top of the line appliances, plenty of dishes, baking items, lots of utensils, everything you could possibly need. The sheets and towels were plentiful and of high quality. The back porch and pool is beautiful and we found it difficult to make ourselves leave the relaxing and peaceful environment. The home is quite large so we never felt crowded or on top of one another. The neighborhood is pretty and a short three block walk to the Dell, (it is visible from the property). Restaurants and shops are two blocks, and the Sunday concerts in the park are a quick two blocks as well.

This is a hidden treasure and the pictures do not do it justice.

Classic Spacious Summer Home w/Pool Close to Beach

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent July and August of the past two summers making this home our own with the help of the charming and accomodating owners who live there the remainer of the year. The home meets our every need...room for all the children, grandchildren plus assorted visiting friends...warm, inviting and comfortable backyard with awesome pool/hot tub/grill/fire pit for entertaining, chilling out and privacy...huge well equipped kitchen/large breakfast room/comfortable family room with big screen TV plus games and videos for the kids...all overlooking the pool and deck area. Full office is a great plus for out of town work. Beautiful drive up appeal, large entry, living room with grand piano and courtyard. Full dining room to seat or serve large groups. Downstairs bedroom with full bath. Upstairs large master and big master double sink bath with sunken tub and wonderfully sized shower/plus two additional nice sized bedrooms with full baths. This home is within a very short walk of the main street (Orange) and its movie theater/assorted restaurants/boutiques/cleaners/drug store plus anything else you could possibly want. The beach at the Del Coronado is only a walk or drive and park away. Coronado is a perfect getaway for those who enjoy being outside whether biking, walking or simply lounging in the ideal temps...and this home is the best of the best. We are only sorry we are unable to return this summer for family reasons...however we have already put in our request for the summer of 2014!
