We recently had the good fortune of staying three nights at the Red Barn guesthouse. The property is located about 3 miles east of downtown Fredericksburg in what can best be described as a semi-rural and serene farming community. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after visiting the larger cities of Austin and San Antonio. The home itself is quite fascinating. It’s a meticulously restored historic Texas farmhouse with an interesting and tasteful blend of period furnishings; but with all the modern conveniences of home. What particularly struck us was the absolute cleanliness of the home and the painstaking effort that went into creating a homey and comfortable environment…. everything was arranged perfectly.
We have stayed at other guest properties in various places and I can unequivocally say that the Red Barn guesthouse is the best. Lee, who is the owner and also a notable Texas historian, was the perfect host. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. As visitors from New England, I very much enjoyed chatting with her and learning about Texas and its unique culture.
I would highly recommend others consider visiting Fredericksburg and staying at this property in particular. For those unfamiliar with the area, Fredericksburg is a small town of German heritage located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. There are many shops, restaurants, historical buildings, the Nimitz Museum and area wineries to explore. The LBJ Ranch and Enchanted Rock State Park are 30 minutes away and are both worth seeing. I’ll close by sharing my fondness memory…. stepping onto the porch after others had turned in and seeing what must have been a million stars in the clear nighttime sky. Not a bad way to remember the Lone Star State!

Great place!! My friends and I had a great time in Fredericksburg, TX and the location was great. The complimentary wine was great and we had everything we needed.
This was our 2nd year in a row coming to Wild Ram and we absolutely LOVE it! The place is clean and adorable, the decor is perfect, all the little details are thought of. The beds are incredibly comfortable - more so than my own bed at home! The owner is a gracious hostess and always makes sure we have everything we need. This is the perfect place for either a girls' weekend or a romantic couples getaway and it is close to everything! We will continue to come back! :-)
When we drove up to Wild Ram B&B all 3 of us said "ohhhhh" and then we walked in and said "wow"! It was so beautifully decorated, comfortable and had anything we needed for our short stay. We loved each and every room and especially loved the upstairs bedroom with he walkout deck. What a quaint gem. I highly recommend this place and intend to return.
The Red Barn Guest House was the perfect place for girls weekend. Four of us stayed here comfortably. The house was roomy, cutely decorated and had everything we needed with lots of great amenities, including a huge bathroom with luxurious walk-in double headed shower and and upstairs balcony overlooking the property. In fact this place was so relaxing, we cancelled our dinner reservations on the last night and instead just chose to cook dinner ourselves and lounge around and enjoy the house, the hot tub and gorgeous property.
The house is perfectly located between downtown Fredericksburg and the wine trail, and we were able to easily get shuttle service for the day for wine tasting. Lee was an awesome hostess, sharing lots of helpful information leading up to our trip and being on hand to answer any questions. This place was amazing and well worth the money. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to make it an annual trip out the Red Barn Guest House!
I stayed here in May and it was a great experience from the moment I opened the door til the time we left! This house is absolutely adorable and very clean. The hand written note and bottle of wine made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the hot tub and looking up at the stars at night. We did a wine tour and they picked us up and dropped us off at our door step. Can't wait to book again!!
