The condo is located in South Kihei on Maui's sunny South-West side. The complex has a recently renovated pool and beautiful, well maintained tropical grounds. It is located within walking distance to everything, less than a 5 minute walk from Charley Young Beach, one of Maui's best swimming beaches, and Cove Park beach, one of Maui's best beginner surf spots. Shopping, restaurants, cafes and Starbucks are within a 10 minute walk as is Kalama Beach Park which has beach volleyball courts, a skateboard park, a roller skating rink, basketball courts and a playground. There's assigned, off street parking right in front of the unit.
The condo underwent a total renovation in 2011 and was updated again in October, 2015 with fresh paint, a new 18,500 BTU air conditioner, a new dining set, a new coffee table and new lanai furniture. The condo offers two real bedrooms (not a loft) and a separate living area. That makes all the difference when one person wakes up early from jetlag and you don't want everyone up!
The entire condo has been furnished and decorated professionally with a hotel like décor and contemporary furniture. New tile flooring throughout the unit helps keep it cool and comfortable. The master bedroom features a luxurious, four poster king bed and a luxury plush, serta-pedic mattress when you need to rest after a long day at the beach, the pool or sightseeing around the island. The second bedroom is the perfect hangout spot for kids with a twin bunk bed, plenty of space to play and a portable crib for the little one. The bunk bed can be separated into two twin beds. The living room is spacious, features a comfortable couch, chair and coffee table, as well as a small formal dining area. And all the entertainment options you need are provided with a new 42' LCD HD 1080p flat screen TV, Blu-ray player, 100+ cable TV channels (many in HD), instant streaming of movies, TV shows and music through Netflix, Pandora and Vudu (Vudu requires you to have an account), and of course there's free WIFI. The bathroom is completely remodeled in 2011 with a bathtub for the kids, a shower and a large vanity with room for all your toiletries. And for those beautiful mornings or perfect, warm evenings there's a table and comfortable chairs on our private lanai so you can have your breakfast and dinner outside with a view of the tropical garden and the pool.
The beautiful and functional kitchen with Corian countertops is fully stocked with everything you need to cook in your home away from home. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, oven, gas stove, all necessary cooking utensils, blender, coffee maker, toaster, rice cooker and much more.
The condo is stocked with everything needed for a comfortable and fun stay. That includes beach chairs, umbrella strollers, coolers, beach towels, lots of towels, board games and some toys.
With two real bedrooms, the condo is just perfect for you and your kids. With two children of my own the condo has been furnished with everything I look for when traveling with the kiddos. The unit provides a luxurious hideaway for adults with a beautiful master bedroom, a functional kitchen and perfect entertainment system. On top of that, everything has been setup with kids in mind. It is all about keeping the kids happy so that everyone is happy! The second bedroom comes with a bunk bed and has a large open floor space so there's room to play. There is also a real wood portable crib on wheels that can fit in either bedroom or be moved around, as needed. There is a single and a double umbrella stroller. With a stroller, the nearby playground, beaches and restaurants are within walking distance for everyone! The condo is on the ground level and doesn't have any stairs so you don't need to carry anything or anyone up and down the stairs, or have anybody fall down. The condo is generally child safety proofed. The ladder on the bunk bed can be taken off making the top bunk bed off limits and there is a safety gate to close off the kitchen (or any room for that matter). No dangerous fall from the lanai as it's on the ground floor. Other things to make your stay enjoyable include toys, games, plastic kids utensils, booster chair, beach toys, and kids life vests (use at own risk). And I know your kids will enjoy picking their favorite TV show on Netflix when they need to wind down after an action packed day.

When I moved to Seattle from Los Angeles a few years ago I knew I'd want to travel for sun during those long, rainy fall and winter months. I have stayed at various condos in Kihei, most I loved, one not so much! One of the first condos I rented was at Kalama Terrace and I was very impressed with the location, the people, and how well the grounds are kept. I knew it had to be a two bedroom condo for me to become an owner and over the years I've been looking on and off and finally this one came up. The condo was in a miserable state but I loved the opportunity to fully renovate the unit. I love the way it turned out and am sure you will too!
I love the condo, because everything is so accessible. This is great for everyone, but a life saver when traveling with kids. The beach, the park with the playground, shops and restaurants are all a short walk from the condo and the pool is just a few steps across the lawn from the lanai. I also love the fact that it is an end unit and it feels like we have our own little private area.
Stayed 3 weeks at condo and had a great time!! It was clean, spacious and everything that we expected. It was very kid friendly with strollers, booster seats and toys available to use. Condo also came with everything you need for the beach. Quick walk from patio to pool. Pool was great and clean and not very busy. Kids had a blast playing In it every morning. Neighbours, grounds keeper and cleaning lady were very friendly. Michael was kind enough to give us a late check out so our children could have an afternoon nap before our late flight. Beach was just a short walk down the road. Overall a great experience and would love to come back to this condo.
Michael was great to work with. Very professional and accomodating. The unit is a great spot in the Kalama Terrace APARTMENT complex. It is close to Charlie Young and Cove Park Beach, which are great for kids. Nicely re-done from it's original state I'm sure, we were surprised when we walked in as the exterior of the building is underwhelming at best. The floors were very dirty, and I'm sure have now been professionally cleaned since I notified Michael of the problem. (He credited us $25 for inconvenience).
The grounds and pool are well maintained, but the grills were hardly functional.
We had a wonderful stay with our 3 year old this October. The condo had everything we needed to keep him entertained in the condo, at the pool and at the beach. The beach is within walking distance but since we had so much stuff to bring we always drove. Shops and grocery stores are a short 5 minute drive. We spent a lot of time at the pool too. This ground floor unit had easy access to the pool and bbq. We would highly recommend this condo for a young family. Your kids will have everything they need including life jackets and floaties. We can't wait to return.
This is a great, recently updated condo. My family and I stayed here for two weeks in July 2016. The condo has been renovated in the last few years and is nicely kept. The digital entertainment is also a nice to have. After spending the day at the beach and pool, it was great for the kids to veg out. The condo is well equipped with everything you’d expect in the kitchen.
Michael the owner is extremely attentive. He emailed and called our first night when I had a few questions. He also checked in once or twice throughout our stay. It’s really nice to have an owner who genuinely cares that you’re enjoying your stay.
The exterior of the condo looks a bit dated, but it makes up for it with nicely kept grounds and a fantastic pool. The pool also appears to have been renovated in the last few years. Very nice, quiet space to enjoy with the family. The condo is ground level, with the pool just a few steps from the back door. I’ve heard from the owner that the barbecues will also soon be updated.
The complex isn’t too large, which is nice; never felt crowded. The location is hard to beat. You’re within walking distance of a convenience store, restaurants, and a few beaches. By car you’re only minutes from more, beautiful beaches, more restaurants, and grocery stores. Kihei has some of the best beaches on the island and a lot of them. Having stayed for two weeks, we visited a new beach every day; all within ~25 minutes of the condo.
With location and amenities, the low cost of this condo makes it a solid gold value. I’ve seen other condos without things like a pool that cost up to twice as much as this place. And for that, I would both stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

The location was very convenient, and the property clean and well maintained. The owners were also very accommodating. We had a great time spending our vacation here.
This condo was well advertised on the internet but you get what you pay for. This is an older condo that was nicely decorated with an updated kitchen and bath. It felt more like an apartment complex with interesting but nice neighbors. It was a very quiet complex. The AC unit in the living room works quickly to cool down the front room but it is very loud and does not cool down the back bedrooms. There was only one floor/stand-up fan even though the guest book said another guest had bought a second fan and left it in the unit. We put this fan in the hallway and pointed it toward the bedrooms. Really hard to cool down the back rooms. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom but they don't cool the room down. For safety reasons we did not leave the windows open at night. The dump trucks will wake you up by 5am. On Thursday they were the loudest with a dump truck passing by every 5 minutes it seemed. The boogie board was broken and there was only one child and one adult snorkel mask. The adult mask had a white sticky substance all over it and it was unusable. We ended up spending $100 on snorkel and boogie board rentals for the week. It was frustrating we had to buy so many basic items like bar soap, garbage bags, TP, etc. When we called the property manager about our few concerns she just kept saying this was a cheap rental for Maui and we were getting a great deal. Okay.... We never used the pool so unable to make a comment. There were too many rules and my daughter did not want to use it. As she puts it, "if you can't do a cannon ball then what's the point?" The on-site manager was nice and helped to explain one night that we couldn't have the oven and the stove top on at the same time for safety reasons. We did appreciate being able to cook most of our meals at the condo. I would have appreciated a dresser in the kids bedroom. The bunk bed was dismantled so I used the second bed to lay out clothes. My daughter was sad the bunk bed was not put together. She was really looking forward to sleeping on the top bunk. The king bed mattress was too lumpy / soft for our backs. We are used to a very firm bed so we run into this problem often while on vacation. This is a good location and we found it easy to navigate to other parts of the island. It's hard to recommend this condo. Depends on what you need. Maui is expensive and this condo helped us to stretch our money, so that is a good thing.
