About the property

3 BR, 2 Bath, Lakeview Home That Sleeps 8

We fell in love with it and we know you will too! This house is a charming cottage right across the street from the lake with views of the lake from almost every room in the house, and a brand new dock where you can keep any boat that you bring or rent up to about 21 feet long. We will make you feel right at home with a real wood burning fireplace, a fully fenced in yard, an outdoor real stone fire pit, charming stone walls and pathways also. Here you can get away from it all during any season of the year, yet still have all the comforts and amenities of home and more. We even have a massage cushion in a comfy rocking chair to help you let go of all your stress. It is perfect for couples and families with children of all ages! There are 2 Bedrooms with Queen Beds, including a large Master Bedroom Suite, a Bedroom with Twin Bunk Beds, and a Queen Sleeper Sofa. There are 2 full baths, one with Tub and Shower and the other with Handicapped-Friendly Walk In shower with Seat.

We have many updates and modern conveniences including regular & Keurig coffee makers, microwave, dish washer, Washer/Dryer, ceiling fans, Cable TVs, free WiFi, books, games, puzzles and more. You can choose from a wide assortment of our coffee & teas, apple cider or hot chocolate; and then sit in anti-gravity chairs on our spacious deck- with views of the shimmering lake. We have a double driveway for off street parking for up to 4 cars and/or boats or jet skis.

You can relax all day in our private, peaceful but friendly community right next to a 300 acres of woodlands and hiking trails at Shuman's Point Natural Area. Or you can fill your day with fun activities on the lake and in the surrounding areas. The nearest dock to swim or fish off of or relax on or near are just 100 feet away. In the summer you can dock your own boat or other toys in our boat slip just a short walk away (about 500 feet). In autumn there is beautiful fall foliage to admire on nature walks. There are so many nearby activities you can enjoy: Multiple Nature Sanctuaries, Museums, Health Spas, Waterfalls, Golf, Claws and Paws Wild Animal Park, Costa's Family Fun Center, Horseback Riding, White Water Rafting, Zip Lining, Skiing and Tubing and more. There are also many restaurants and stores nearby, including a full Supermarket, Pharmacy, Health Food Store, Antique shops, etc.

We have a Weber Charcoal Grill on the deck and a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals. We just ask that you buy your own groceries but feel free to use our condiments, seasonings, and spices. All pillows, bedding, and towels are provided. We prefer weekly rentals from Sun to Sun, but we will consider all requests. Smoking is not permitted, but house trained dogs are allowed, and there is only a one time extra $50 fee for the extra cleaning required. No large parties allowed. We just love our lake house too much to let it get destroyed. We just ask that your treat our home the way you would your own.

About Sharon Gregory

I am a Physician Assistant and my husband is a Medical Writer. We have been married for 21 years and have 2 wonderful daughters, ages 13 & 16. This is the first time we have been able to own a vacation home that we are able to enjoy ourselves and share with others. We have been successfully renting this property 2013 with excellent reviews and many repeat renters.

Sharon Gregory purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Sharon Gregory chose Pennsylvania

We visited Lake Wallenpaupack for the first time last year and fell in love with the area and all it has to offer. I found this home that was 'For Sale by Owner' as I was riding my bicycle around the area while we were on vacation. I brought my husband and daughters with me to look at it later that day and they all liked it as much as I did. The owners were a very nice couple, Sheila and Ed that had owned the house and property for many years. Sheila's mother had lived there and they took great care in caring for the home and making improvements to make her life easier, and many happy memories were made here. We purchased this house in December and then spent some time and energy making other improvements to make it our 'home away from home'.

What makes this cottage unique

We have a dock that you can keep your boat at and a boat launch right nearby. Our property is on a double corner lot in a quiet but friendly private community with partial lake views from all rooms except one. This home was renovated and decorated with love and an attention to detail. The spacious deck offers the best view of the lake especially during the late fall to early spring. The fenced in yard allows us to bring our dogs with us on vacations and allows us to rent to fellow dog lovers, who also think of their dogs as part of their family that deserve a vacation too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a very nice time even if the weather didn't want to cooperate on Sat. The house very nice and clean, we drank more coffee than we should have, but it was fun trying different ones. We just got back from the store and got some Apple Cider which we all liked. My wife enjoyed meeting some of the neigbors, and loved the deer feeding everyday across the street with the cats right next too them. We enjoyed making a fire outside on Sat night. and also going to Ehrhardt's for dock and dine on Sunday for lunch Thanks again for letting us check out late, it gave us one more trip around the lake and time for lunch..

We talked about doing a week next year, so hopefully we can find one thats open.

Quiet retreat

  • 3 of 5

Nice property for folks with pets, the fenced yard was a big plus. Neighborhood is quiet and friendly.

Place is convenient to amenities and restaurants but not too close.

Comfortable home but could use some updating.

Overall a reasonable deal for the cost.

Owner is very pleasant to work with and informative as to the area. We found this helpful as "out of town'ers"

very homey comfortable house!

  • 4 of 5

A perfect house just big enough for us and the dogs, very homey, wonderful fireplace which we needed since it was frigid! Snow on the ground which the dogs loved! beautiful view, very quiet, great accomodations. Wonderful master suite, nice to have 2 bathrooms and lots of blankets! A few odds and ends which were easy to fix, dead remotes so we needed batteries but you can make do! The deer finished off the perfect mini vacation and it was beautiful. Hated to leave!

Fishing was a blast

  • 5 of 5

My family loves the out doors and every year on our Anniversary. We take off on a fishing, horseback riding and Four wheeling vacation. This house is in a great location for fishing and boat rentals. Please read the reviews on boat rentals before renting. Fishing bate and boat rentals was avaliable 5 mins from the house. Horseback riding make 2 rights out of the property and it was on the left 3 miles off the main road. The horseback owners was great, don't take the hour trail unless you ride often, 30 mins was really enough time. Sharon had a basket full of resturant menus and fun things to do. We located the outlets for shopping and Four wheeling about 45 min ride, just put it in your GPS and go for it. There is a grocery store next door to the bate store about 5 mins away. The yard was large and fenced in for hours of play time for our two small dogs. The neighbors across the small road had dogs, so my two had pet friends to take walks with during the stay. Sharon's boat dock is to the right of the property on the far end. She left the location on the frig. We caught 10 good size fish with reg worms. We roasted them on the grill with vegetable and relaxed on the patio. The patio is a great size for a large family. We come down when the trees were shedding and we could get a better view of the lake through the trees. The bedding was comfortable and the Japaness message pad in the rocking chair worked out my kinks from throwing the fishing line all day. The room with the bunk beds has a washer and dryer in the room. Don't dry clothes when the kids are in the room. My husband loved the fancy hair shampoo Sharon stocked the bathroom with and I left my facial wipes home and she even had make up remover in the bathroom. I am a country girl that loves to cook and her kitchen was stocked with enough seasonings to cook anything. The house has a k- cup coffee maker and she supplied gourmet coffee cups. Sharon was great with communication and instructions for the lockbox for the house. This house made its way to number one on my favorites list. Thanks Sharon

The home is clean and well kept. Very relaixing atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

My family spent a week at the home and had a lovely time. The home is clean and up to date. There is plenty of room for a family of four or more The atmosphere is very relaxing and comforting. If you like watching wildlife this is the place to go. The deer walk around the neighborhood. You are only five minutes away from Hawley on Route 6 if you need anything. Great local restaurants near by. Sharon the owner is great to deal with if you have any questions. She responds in timely fashion. I would recommend her home to stay at.

Well worth it
