About Kira Golub

A total renovation on a beautiful historic home and carriage house that sat empty for years. With months of work and lots of love the carriage house has become a nice little get away.

What makes this house unique

We are happy to help with recommendations on things to see, places to eat, and fun things to do. We have had nothing but positive feedback on the comfort and location of our cottage. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful stay we had down in Charleston in early March. The bottle of wine was a perfect touch as we entered the cottage. Thank you so much for that. Your place is perfect for relaxing at night after busy days of sightseeing in your beautiful city. The accomodations were perfect for Jeff and I along with my mom. We certainly enjoyed many of your suggestions for restaurants, sites to see and just places to walk. Your friendliness made us right at home. Thank you again for your hospitality.

p.s. we've told our friends and family about this wonderful experience!

Perfect Charleston Getaway Cottage

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing weekend. Our friends from Clearwater met us in Charleston. We live in Asheville, so it was a nice somewhat in-between spot, plus we were all celebrating our 30th anniversaries. The location was perfect and walking distance to everything...sites, restaurants, Saturday morning market, etc. The cottage was so clean and a great size for two couples. It was nice having the living area and kitchen for morning breakfast and socializing at night. It had all the kitchen amenities anyone could need and also had bikes available. We will definitely come again! Kira was wonderful and gave us recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. We've been renting homes from VRBO for about 10 years and this is one of the best homes we've rented yet!

Lovely Place in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time my wife and I had used Home Away vacations rentals and my wife and I were very impressed. The carriage house was clean and cozy as advertised. All attractions in downtown Charleston are a short walk away while those off the peninsula are a short ride away. Kira and Dewey are wonderful hosts!

This cottage was probably the best VRBO we have ever rented. The location was perfect . The cottage was immaculate ....cozy and just right in every way. We were able to walk almost everywhere..(..and we did!) was on a great residential street with a park across the street...... and the fenced in yard was great for our dog! If you want to visit Charlston and feel like a local ...this place is perfect!

Home Away from Home

We were looking for a place that would be a change of scenery to work and play. We were so fortunate to find this property. Everything is perfectly done with personal touches you can't find in any hotel. The location is terrific, with parks and wide sidewalks for lazy strolls throughout the day. Upper King is a block away - all shops and restaurants within reach. The owners are gracious and welcoming and are available for any needs that come up. We wish we could have stayed longer! We are looking to book our next vacation.

so close to everything. Owner came and met us asked if we needed anything. Place was jus like it looked in the photos. One-half blocks to free trolley which took you up King. Took Gray Line bus tour of the city and well worth it. If you are looking for a place to stay close to everything, book this one!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Just leaving this cottage after 4 terrific weeks. We loved our time in charleston - terrific small city - and this was a wonderful home to return to everyday. We ate out - lots of terrific restaurants close by. We ate in - well equipped and pleasant kitchen. The king size bed was very comfortable with tempurpedic mattress - now I want one at home! There were just the 2 of us with our dog and the fenced in garden was a real asset. We had guests several times and there's ample room, with the guest room having its own bath. The owners are lovely people - pleasant and accommodating. And to top it all - there's private parking in a gated driveway. All in all, this is a terrific place, and we'll be back!
