Our casa and attached casita are located on the Sea of Cortez in Loreto. We are 1 1/2 miles from town so you will need a rental car. We are not in Loreto Bay which is 7 miles from town. The casita has a full kitchen and sleeps two with a king size bed, satellite TV with US & Canadian stations, wireless internet and air conditioning. The new airport is 12 minutes away and golfing is 15 minutes away. There is a 4 night minimum, but in March a 5 night minimum. Loreto, located approximately 700 miles south of San Diego in Baja on the Sea of Cortez, is ideal for kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, diving, whale watching, hiking or just relaxing.

My husband and I stayed here for six weeks, February and early March, and we enjoyed our stay. The Casita is very clean and the owner is very accommodating. Our favourite place was the front patio. You get the most gorgeous ocean view and pleasant cool breeze there. We sometimes just sat there, enjoying doing nothing and feeling like we were in a corner of paradise. You can experience the sunsets from the roof. If you like dogs you will be adopted by Flaco, Peanut, and if lucky, Shorty. The Casita is easy access to town with a 25-minute walk via the beach or the road to numerous restaurants of different price ranges. Check TripAdvisor for a list. The three biggest grocery stores are the Super Ley Express, El Pescador and Mi Bodega Aurrera on Independencia starting at the traffic light. You may have to go to all three to get what you want. Licors Cactus for wine and liquor kitty-corner to the El Pescador on Miguel Hidalgo. Fresh or frozen camarones (prawns) sometimes across the street from the Ley. First run movies on Saturday morning at the Mediterraneo restaurant on the Malecon. Go early to get a decent seat.
This is the 2nd time we've stayed in the casita. NOT ONE COMPLAINT! Very clean and the patio is right on the quiet beach. It's just so relaxing. We can't wait to return again and Loreto is such a friendly town.
Comfy bed, excellent kitchen setup, beautiful patio for beach and island views, nice responsive owner, hiking, paddling, and great restaurants nearby. Highly recommended! We brought our stand up paddleboards and had a great time heading north and back several times from the casita. We plan to return.
My wife and I couldn't have enjoyed our stay in Loreto and the casita any more...unless we could have stayed longer. The casita gave us everything we needed to fully enjoy our time in Baja; a great place to kick back, truly incredible views of the Sea of Cortez, and easy access into town. We walked into town via the beach a couple times and it was awesome. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful, even lending us a cooler when we ventured north to Bahia Concepcion to hit the beaches along that stretch of MX 1.
Loreto itself is fantastic, found the best tacos de pescado at Cesar's (though Augie's was up there too). We loved 1697 and enjoyed dinner there on a couple of occasions. One of our adventures was a fishing trip with Mijito sport fishing and Capt. Juan - highly recommend his service. We caught dinner for several nights and had an absolute blast fishing and then kicking back on a deserted cove on Isla Carmen.
All my communication with the owner was great and he was incredibly helpful in getting us ideas. The Loreto guide/book he has in the casita is the perfect thing too - it gave us ideas on what to explore and where to dine.
I'm looking forward to our next adventure to Loreto; likely with our two boys as we'd like to expose them to the culture. The folks we encountered were very friendly and helpful, even when language was a barrier.
I'd give the casita 6 stars if that was available, that's how highly we thought of our stay there.
Had a wonderful 2 weeks in Loreto. We dove 5 days with Sea and Land (they were great), explored about a 200 km radius around the Baja, as well as the town of Loreto itself, seeking the best marguarita (a tie between Giggling Dolphin & Mi Loreto). The casita lived up to its billing. We looked forward to returning to it & the beautiful patio to finish the evening watching the water. The Sea of Cortez is full of life. We saw jumping rays, hundreds of dolphins, & almost a dozen whales (need to travel by boat to see these). Communication with the owner was excellent. The town is walkable along the beach (about a km), but was nice to have the mobility of a car. Nice, quiet neighbourhood. Highly recomend the area & the casita.
Loved our stay at the Casita on the beach! We weren't there a lot since we had tours every day, but we had everything we needed. Close enough to town for dinner, could walk the beach to town, not too far, it seemed. We didn't have time to do it. Everything in the unit matched the photos. The owner was always responsive right away. Bed is firm, but comfortable. Kitchen had everything needed to cook, but we had sea food every night in town. English TV channels, Wi-Fi, A/C was great too. Not sure what else would be helpful. I will be back! Whale watching was amazing, snorkeling and site seeing too good to pass up!
