About Denise and Dorene

Austin born sisters, Dorene and Denise have lived in Austin their entire lives. Our family and friends live here and we can not imagine living anywhere else! Austin is one of the hottest spots to visit in the nation. The combination of nature, live bands, and great food (Tex-Mex, barbeque, eclectic)...we just love Austin! We have owned and managed properties for 12 years and enjoy giving people a comfortable beautiful place to live and stay.

Denise and Dorene purchased this house in 2002

Why Denise and Dorene chose Austin

This property was handed down to us from our father. He had the foresight to buy the property in the 1960's and it is very special to us. Our entire family grew up and attended school in this area and many friends remain. We have loved seeing how this area has changed and grown over the years and we can quickly tell you where something 'used to be'.

We have remodeled the entire house and turned it into a South Austin gem. It is in the perfect location since it is conveniently located to downtown, restaurants, entertainment, nature walks, and shopping. Yet, you can still relax and get away from it all by sitting on the back deck with your favorite beverage.

What makes this house unique

The feeling in the house is one of being in a safe place and calmness. From the kitchen, bathroom and back deck you catch glimpses of the high rises of downtown. There is native landscaping and a large fenced in backyard with a three tiered awesome deck. Located in a good location with speedy access to other areas in Austin via highways or major roads.

A comfortable house for Austin visit

  • 4 of 5

We really liked this house. It was very comfortable and well suited to our family of 4. The outside is a nice bonus and even in the rain we could sit outside under the covered area. Like other guests we were drawn to Torchy's more than we'd expected - a great start to the day.

There is a bus service into town and we used Ride Austin taxi service in the absence of Uber and found it very efficient.

We'd consider returning here if ever find ourselves in Austin again.

Comfortable, easy access and great garden!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay, too bad we did not have enough time to simply hang out in the back area! We had breakfast outside and really enjoyed being centrally located. The place was great, got a real sense of Austinian life! We would definitely choose this location again.

Charming and sweet in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

Everything was neat and clean when we arrived. It was warm but the window units cooled things down quickly. It was nice to have coffee and creamer provided. It's in a great location with easy access to south congress hot spots. We loved the back yard and hippie hollow nook. We would love to stay here again.

Thanks so much!

clean, cool (Austin weird), homey, close to everything.

  • 4 of 5

We loved this little house. While it is small, it does have a nice backyard and the hippie hang out is a unique hideaway. It sits just outside downtown Austin. This makes it easy to get around the city.

Very Austin-like. Adorable and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time here. The location is central to most of the things that we wanted to do. The house is neat and carefully decorated to represent the quirkiness of Austin. Plenty of closet space and my kids loved walking to Torchy's every morning for tacos. The outdoor space is also great and we even had a little breeze at night to make it comfortable. The only thing that I might suggest is a full length mirror somewhere. We would definitely stay here again.

Sweet little cottage with a terrific location

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at Denise and Dorene's house in SoCo. The location is perfect...we had delicious breakfast tacos next door at Torchy's every morning and beautiful morning walks in the neighborhood. The garden and outdoor seating area are a lovely place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We had everything we needed in a clean, well maintained home, and it was so nice to have access to laundry facilities during our stay. We would absolutely stay here again if we could.
