I grew up in Colorado and always wanted to come back to the mountains and share the love I have for this wonderful state with my family.
Troy Dunnington purchased this house in 2011
When we were looking to buy a home, we wanted to find a small mountain town with a cozy western feel. Grand Lake provided that and much more!
The next thing on our list was a home with views. 'One Grand View' has one of the best views in all Grand Lake sitting on top of Woodpecker Hill.
Lastly, we wanted a house close to town, which is less than a 1/2 mile walk to the charming town of Grand Lake.
We think you will love the location and, more importantly, enjoy the sunrise and sunsets looking over the Grand Valley views as far as the eye can see.
The Town is an 8 minute walk from the home! One of my favorite things is an early morning cup of coffee and sitting down stairs watching the sun raise over Mt. Baldy!
Excellent location. Great house.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! There was plenty of room for our family of 7 to sprawl out and enjoy the amenities of home when we were not out enjoying the beautiful Colorado landscape. The full kitchen and grill were much appreciated to prepare some meals at home, and we enjoyed the board games for some great family competition. We aren't huge music listeners, but the built in sound system sure was an added feature. Troy was great a to work with-very responsive and offered helpful suggestions to make our visit everything we could've hoped for! If we come back to Grand Lake, we would absolutely stay here again.
This was our second time staying at this place. Great accommodations and what a view!
This place was perfect, it had all the things you would have at home and more. We traveled with our 2 kids and another couple that had two kids and the house had all the small things parents would need: like a high chair, pack and play and even utensils for the little ones. The views were spectacular and house was very user friendly. The sound system in the house was very easy to use and crystal clear. We even saw a moose sleeping right below our balcony. Thanks again Troy for a wonderful stay!
Pictures on the web don't do it justice. The view and this home are incredible.
We loved our stay here, all the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Having 2 living rooms let the kids enjoy their time in one area and adults in the other when needed. No TV's in the bedrooms which is great so no one is hibernating while on vacation. The Sonos sound system is awesome. The kitchen is a little tight, but we made it work one chef at a time.
We had 5 adults and 2 teenage kids and this place fit us perfectly. It's an easy hike down to town, a little tougher on the way back because of the hill but good exercise in the morning. Grand lake is a great little town with lots of charm.
I stressed about picking a place to stay in Grand Lake, everyone was happy I picked this one.
We had a great time at this beautiful property! We had a party eight with ages ranging from seven to 70. The accommodations were perfect for us. We had plenty of room, and the house is very comfortable and welcoming. I did have a small snag when VRBO double booked us, but the owner took care of the issue immediately after I alerted him.
Did I mention the view? Fantastic! The view from the kitchen and deck is of Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. You can see mountains for miles. Location is great too. A short walk into town, and just a couple miles to Rocky Mountain National Park.
I would definitely recommend this property, and if I get the chance, I will gladly stay here again.
