Pats Place is on a 1300 acre spring fed lake outside of Crockett Texas. The house is on the side of a hill and sets high above the lake, in the tree canopy. Whats very unique is how close the home is to the lake. It has a truly remarkable view and feel to it.
The home is new in 2013 and offers 5 bedrooms and a game-room/bedroom. The home also has 4 full baths.
The large kitchen is perfect for your group. We even have a local caterer available for nights you don't want to cook! Ask for more information.
The home has no carpet and is always clean and as allergy free as possible.
Decks are too numerous to list. Find your 'me' spot and enjoy the near constant tropical like breeze. The dock has a covered area as well as a fish cleaning station, kayak house and a boat slip.
The home has a fire-pit for those chilly evenings or for cooking the family favorite smores!
The cantilevered deck on the side of 'the cliff' is an incredible spot to enjoy the breeze and wildlife.
Whether you're with a large or small group, you'll love Pats Place.
Pats Place is a fantastic home in a magical setting. It is a very unique home and has lots of steps, decks, docks and a phenomenal array of outdoor lights.
My wife has suggested I need to visit with deckaholics anonymous. She may be right?
The interior of Pats is often overlooked due to the beauty of the outdoor setting. The homes interior is fresh and open. As a builder I built this home with Vacation Rental in mind. The two Master Bedrooms have their own exits on to the porch where an evening beverage or a cup of coffee can be enjoyed.
The large communal area flows and is the perfect place for any family event. The island seems to be a popular meeting spot!
The bunk room has a full lower with a twin upper. As is the case with all our bedrooms it has a 32" flat screen T.V. and cable. The lower gamer/bedroom has Netflix as well as the upper living area. Of course we offer wireless broadband internet as well as a landline with free unlimited calling in the continental U.S.
The remaining bedrooms are a queen size beds with ample space.
Brenda and I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Texas back in 1978. We lived in Spring outside of Houston where we raised about half of our 5 kids. When Spring became Houston I couldn't take the urban sprawl and wanted to pull the plug.
We decided on Houston County Lake outside of Crockett because of the terrain, plentiful trees and wildlife.
It reminded us very much of New England with the plentiful tree, streams and a pristine lake.
We raised the last of our kids and they attended a small school in Latexo, a town of 200 or so just east of the lake.
All of our kids attended U.T. Austin and most have settled there as teachers, firefighters and a computer geek.
Having raised 5 children it's obvious we are family oriented people. A large part of why we pursued the Vacation Rental business is the enjoyment we get from watching families re-bonding and kids catching their first or biggest fish. Heck, it gives you a little chill when a 4 year old tells you how big their fish was!
It's a very rewarding business.
Mark & Brenda Copus purchased this house in 2013
Well, we bought the land and my background as a builder lets me see possibilities others don't. When we bought this property I had a vision of what it could be.
We constantly heard people tell us this land couldn't be built on. Well, I knew better and felt I could use the terrain to make this a one in a million unique home.
In fact, the drawings I made at the very beginning are almost identical to the end product.
We think you'll fall in love with Pats Place, just as we have.
Not one of our properties are lived in. They are all for Vacation Rental purposes only. This allows us to make the home for the vacationer, not the tenant. You'll notice our closets are smaller than many homes allowing more living space rather than unneeded space. our homes are designed to be very comfortable inside and the outdoor living is second to none.
I feel another strong area is the fact I am a builder. We still do projects in Houston, Crockett and Dallas, I keep a crew. When the construction is slow I shift the men over to help maintain the properties. This allows us to 'not only' maintain the properties but we actually improve them over time.
Wonderful place to stay, like living in the treetops. House has everything you need and more! The Copus' have thought of everything. We're coming back.
We had a very relaxing, enjoyable time at Pat's Place. The house is well-maintained and paddling in the kayak's was a lot of fun too. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Pat's Place was a great property. It easily accommodate our group of 11 with children and grand parents. The kayaks were a hit and it was great not having to haul a canoe from home. Everything in the home was new, clean and in working order. This was our second visit to Vacation Country Rentals. We previously stayed in Awesome View. The properties and Houston County Lake combine for a classic family lake vacation. Don't hesitate to book!
Went for spring break. Had a wonderful time with the family fishing, kayaking and making smores by the fire pit at night. The beds were clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well provisioned and the wifi was suitable for streaming Amazon or Netflix movies at night. The lake was quiet and lots of wildlife around to entertain us during the day. The marina was within walking distance and had some basic supplies and bait for sale, but they were out of bait when we were there. When you go, follow the signs that say "Rental Houses" for the last few turns, not your GPS. Definitely someplace we will return to in the future!
This home was a delightful place for our family (with our kids and their spouses and our grandkids) to gather for a wonderful week together. It was a beautiful and well furnished home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals--and nice new appliances. The decks were amazing, and we so enjoyed eating out on the main porch overlooking the lake. We loved having the kayaks available for the kids (and grown-ups) to be able to wander around the lake. We also appreciated having good wi-fi connections.
The parking was ample. The front porch was large. Once opening the door I was amazed at the space. Our group of 13 would have more than enough room. Everything was immaculate. The decor was perfect and inviting. A giant island with tons of seating was smack in the middle. This quickly became the center of our party. Every appliance or extra you could want was in the cabinets and drawers, griddle, waffle maker, etc. made cooking super easy. All the bedrooms had a tv and dresser, extra blankets, and super comfy beds. The living room has large sofas and a couple stuffed rockers. Perfect for reading. The deck is large...you really can't describe it....you could have 5 different parties on each little sitting area. Very impressive. Off the living room is some stairs. Go on down and it's a game room, perfect for the kids to unwind and give the adults some space. Lots of bean bags downstairs for people to crash on and watch movies. The owners are really nice and easy to talk to. They provided lots of info about the area and things to do. We enjoyed our stay. Got to see some amazing fireworks on the lake, definitely coming back in the summer. Can't wait to go swimming!
Crockett sets in the piney woods of East Texas. The area is home to the Davy Crockett National Forest and the Texas State Railroad.
The area is home to multiple festivals as well as a 1st class (well for a small town) fine arts center.
Crockett is home to Texas' oldest fiddlers festival and sports a rodeo that George Strait has attended.
The antique and small one of a kind shops in the area will keep the shoppers occupied.
Take the time to tour town and visit the museums, libraries and our classic movie theater 'The Ritz'. It's almost like stepping back in time.
