The women run the town of Ennis while the men folk guide the Madison River, and outfit the Elk season. Small town, Big personality. Tour the Lewis&Clark caves, explore the ghost towns of Virginia City or enter Yellowstone Park through the West Entrance. Local mountain hikes, world renown hunting and fishing. The 4th of July celebrated like no other town in Montana!!!! Art Galleries, Wine Distillery, great dining!
Great place for family or hunting and fishing fiends. BBQ, on the deck and enjoy a Mountain View. Walk to main street Ennis for a movie or meal, or to buy that new fishing rod and a pair of jeans. Visit our Wine Distillery or shop at the famous Nearly New, Antique Outlets, and Coffee Bistros. Fish & Kayak the Madison before dinner. Bike ride a country road, or enjoy the Mountain Views. This is truly where "The deer and antelope play"! Byways trails have wonderful walks for you and your dog with river access for the fisherman. Ennis is the best of the best of Montana.
We've stayed here annually in the Fall over the past few years and I love it. This is a great, cozy place that is clean and anticipates guest needs very well. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable, but give guests space and privacy. The beds are comfortable and the views can't be beat! A must-do!
Came to Ennis on a last minute hunting trip and needed a "home base". This house was perfect for what we needed. If your plans are to be out and about and you are not looking for too many creature comforts that you wouldn't use anyway this is a great house. Comfortable, not too small. Nice, but not where you are worried about your kids or dogs costing you your deposit. It's a basic house with a good vibe, and all you need to enjoy the outdoors in Big Sky country. I would stay there again if I was planning another hunting trip in that area.
Neat, quiet and clean. Jen is attentive.
Jennifer and her husband were most gracious to me and to my wife. My wife got sick, ended up in the hospital and these folks treated us like family. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness.
My brothers and I have been coming to Montana for decades to chase trout in the Treasure State's pristine streams, and with this year being the third year in a row at Jennifer and Jack's place we were once again mesmerized by the panoramic view of the Madison mountain range enjoyed from the back deck: it's most impressive, and gives one the true sense and size of this magnificent mountain range. The accommodations are superb for a group of four men: plenty of sleeping room with extremely comfortable mattresses, plenty of cooking gear and a back deck grill to fire up a big piece of Montana beef on. The owners are always around if you need them, but respect their guest's privacy as well. We are looking forward to returning again next year, and will book as soon as we figure out our dates, because the place fills up fairly fast, and as a good man once said to me, "He who hesitates, sleeeps at home." Thanks for everything!
