My husband Dan & I are both insurance agents. We have 2 teenagers and we love to travel.
Jeanine Michalski purchased this cottage in 1999
This property has been in my family for generations. My grandparents operated a small resort with efficiency cottages in the 1950's and 1960's. This is the last remaining cottage of their resort.
Our little lake is quiet and peaceful yet only 15 minutes to Traverse City and 20 minutes to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes
My husband, Bart and I had a wonderful time while staying at the Lone Pine Cottage in Lake Ann, Michigan August 6 - 13, 2016, and would certainly recommend Lone Pine to friends. We hope to return again next year. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and self sufficient. It is a perfect, central location to stay if one wants to explore the Lelanau and Benzie Counties. We found it to be very private, quiet and peaceful. Finally, it was very easy and pleasant to communicate with Jeannine and her husband and we appreciate all they did for us.

This was a very nice and quite place to stay for a relaxing week. Anything you need for a get away is here! The cottage was very clean. The lake was great for kayaking and taking the paddle boat around the lake was fun. Enjoyed hanging by the firepit at night. Making day trips was easy and not far from Traverse City and the National Park. Thanks again for allowing us to stay. We really enjoyed it!
We had a great time at the Lone Pine Cottage during our summer vacation in 2015. It was a beautiful spot with great sunsets! We did have a rainy and cold week (probably the coldest of the summer), but we thoroughly enjoyed spending time playing games on the screened in porch and cooking meals and breathing the fresh up north air! The place was small, but perfect for our family of 3. We had troubles when we arrived with getting the cook top working, but after a quick conversation with the owner realized the fuse was tripped and needed to be reset. He talked me through the process and we were back in business within minutes. The cottage was clean and tidy. This place is SO close all that the Traverse City area has to offer. We biked the Leelanau TART trail one day and it was amazing. Made a few trips to Traverse City for shopping due to the rain - such a short drive. And Lake Ann is really growing. Loved Lake Ann Brewery and as always we enjoyed several visits to the Lake Ann Grocery which are so close. Our daughter loved riding her bike around the quiet lake roads (between rain drops). We can't wait to get back to Bryan Lake next summer! Thanks again for a memorable vacation.
Our small family of 3 stayed a full week in this wonderful little cottage. It has a single bedroom, which is fine for parents that cosleep, but a bit small for a packnplay. The bathroom is rather large though and we "created" second bedroom for our 20 month old in there and we were able to stay up late without the toddler turning into a gremlin. It was perfect for us, though some may be uncomfortable with this arrangement.
We loved the screened porch and enjoyed a number of meals listening to the ducks on the lake. The dock, down a staircase from the house, was a great place to visit with the fish and turtles that swim right up to it. We even took the paddle boat out a couple of times.
The place is not really located on a swimming pond, but is located just a few minutes walk from the village of Lake Ann's small town beach. If you are planning on swimming in the lake, be sure to take water shoes as the rocky bottom was a little hard on the feet. Do bring beach towels because you will not be able to launder towels that get messy at the beach.
There is a small general store in town that has most things you may have forgotten but you will pay for convenience. Across from there is a small town park perfect for playing with children. Also don't forget the pancake breakfast I'm town on Sunday.
Lake Ann was a short drive from Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. It would also be a great base to explore the wine trails though we were not able to do that with a toddler in tow.
We would stay here again it was a wonderfully relaxing stay. Overall the property was as described. It was clean and Jeanine and Dan were welcoming and helpful.
We had a wonderful time in Lake Ann. Jeanine met us and welcomed us. The fresh flowers on the table were a very nice touch. The cabin is old but extremely well decorated and maintained. Went out in their kayaks a couple of times on the lake; it was nice that it is a small "no motors" lake. It was difficult to find at first, which is not a bad thing. I would recommend this stay to anyone, and I am hoping to stay there again myself.
Had a wonderful week. Everything in the cottage was neat and clean. Bed slept comfortably and the weather couldn't have been better. We made full use of the kayak and the paddle boat for evening trips on the lake. Didn't hear any loons, so we will have to come back next year for that!
