Hi Phoenix Travel,

Just wanted to express our full satisfaction with the condo that we had, overall amenities of the resort, and your service. The place is great, so is the service. It was very easy to process the booking, and the Phoenix team was helpful, responsive, and supportive.

Speaking of the amenities, Ocean Pointe’s private beach is not huge, but cozy and never crowded. We loved that there are free beach and water equipment items, such as paddle board or kids staff : plastic shovels, buckets etc. These little things make big difference for families like us – traveling with the kid :-) We had dinner almost every evening by the Marina – nice and cozy, yet affordable and healthy (we simply brought staff that I cooked myself in the condo). There’s a bar and small convenience store near reception but we never had a chance to use it. 24h service at the reception is very convenient, too. I liked the list of nearby restaurants that you get when check–in – very thoughtful of the management. We did not go out often (with 5 y.o kid we preferred the quietness of Ocean pointe marina), but on the first night we checked out Snapper restaurant and we liked it. There are also few nice coffee shops nearby. Our rooms were clean and had everything we needed (including beach towels), grocery stores are nearby. We enjoyed the resort a lot! We unfortunately did not have enough time for everything, as there are also many interesting places around (like Coral reef Pinnekamp park 15 min drive from there). There is also nice small state park Harry Harris literally 5 min from the property, it’s worth stopping by, especially with kids – there are tiny crabs coming out of shallow water. I recall it’s free admission on the weekdays. Nearby State Pinnekamp park is great- we did glass bottom boat tour, there’s also snorkeling, kayaking, and diving offered there, and few nature trails. {Beaches are also there, but Ocean Pointe’s one is actually better in terms of sand, beach chairs, and comfort !} We had our grandma with us, and even she enjoyed kayaking in mangroves. Every night, it was nice to come back to our place for a good rest and local activities, like digging sand again. In fact, if we did not have that digging opportunity “in house”, it would have been much harder to convince my son to spend the whole day out kayaking and snorkeling – parents of little kids will understand. :-)

Will definitely try to come again and highly recommend to anyone!

Awesome getaway!

I stayed here for over a week to spend my husband's birthday at the Key's and man was it worth it! They had their pool under renovation the whole time during our stay but I honestly didn't miss it since they gave us a whole bunch of free amenities to make up for the pool being closed, so we enjoyed kayaking and it was such a great time. The staff is some of the nicest people you could ever meet and the room I stayed in definitely had the Key's vibe. I truly enjoyed my stay and would like to come back sometime in the near future!

As many can expect, at first I was a little apprehensive booking this property considering the poor reviews, however staying here was simply amazing. The surrounding property was stunning and was truly a sight to take in. The condo we stayed in was a gem, everything was very clean, the decorations were great and very well thought out. I had absolutely no complaints I could think of. The only slightly disappointing thing is the pool was closed and we were told it would not open until early January. However, because of that inconvenience they gave us tons of free amenities our favorites were the kayaks rentals and to be honest at the end we didn't even miss the pool because of all the complimentary amenities we had. Overall I definitely have to say this place was amazing, and I will most definitely be coming back and staying here again.

Always nice to be back

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here again for the 4th time and even though we have had a different condo each time, each has been nice in its own way. We always book an ocean view suite - love the view! This one was on the 3rd floor and had 2 twin beds in the second guest bedroom, which my kids loved, since they didn't have to share a queen bed this time around. Loved the extra beach activities and great new kayaks. For the price, you can't beat this., and it's the only place in the area that will take a weekend stay. It's hard to find a place that rents for less than a week or a month down there. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Will be back in the summer. Thanks again

A HUGE disappointment!

  • 1 of 5

I spent luxury prices and the unit was a dump and it was a special trip with my 94 yo embarrassing. Missing more than half the kitchen supplies, light bulbs, greasy shelves and a used pregnancy test in the closet. Took almost 24 hours to get a manager to come to the unit...they fixed some of the problems. Never even offerred to rebate anything...Am staying in a $79 a nite Hampton in tonite that is luxury by comparison.

Owner's Response: Ocean Pointe is a beautiful condo community in the Florida Keys right on the water, with all of the wonderful amenities you can expect at any condo hotel. Unfortunately, as we all know, there are people who, no matter how much you may do to try and correct a situation, they are never satisfied. Such is the case with this guest. She called to complain at approximately 10:30pm in the evening, when 99% of the staff is gone. She was promised a cleaning the next day. Housekeeping was out there at 10:30am and cleaned the entire unit, and no pregnancy test was found by the cleaners. Regarding missing kitchen supplies; only a slotted serving spoon and pot were missing. Both were delivered upon request. 1 light bulb was out in the hall – it was replaced on the same day. As property managers, we feel that it is our job to address all complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner, which we did. This is a great property and we have many, many happy, repeat guests.

Where do you live?

Very disappointing

  • 1 of 5

Very disappointed in this property. The location is nice, outside of Key Largo and by the water. The unit itself was very poor.

We switched from the 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom and were told that they were identical. Not sure if this was the one bedroom situation or if this applies to all units.

Carpet was very dirty, furniture was old and beat up. There was no lamp in the living space, only bright light-bulbs hanging from the fan. You either sit in the dark or have them glaring at you.

The bed was very uncomfortable.

Only a single small bar of soap to be shared with the shower and sink.

Nothing in the Kitchen. No salt/pepper, no actual towels, no dishwasher soap, no potholders.

Be prepared for the bare essentials or purchase everything. Clearly not up to typical VRBO experiences.

Owner's Response: Ocean Pointe is lovely condo community with beautiful grounds and wonderful amenities. When guests complain about cleanliness, our housekeeping team immediately addresses the situation with another cleaning. If items are missing, as with the mention of soap, salt & pepper, dish washer soap or kitchen towels, it takes only a phone call to the front desk to have additional supplies sent to the room. And by the way, the dish washing soap packets were right inside the silverware drawer all along – housekeeping confirmed this and showed it to the guest. I’m not sure why a guest would complain about these items, knowing full well there are plenty more available, upon demand. “Nothing in the kitchen,” is a pretty exaggerated statement, considering there were pots, pans, dishes, bowls, salad plates, drinking glasses, tumblers, mugs, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, mixing bowls, cooking utensils, cookie sheet, knife block with cooking knives, and silverware, in addition to several other items. I am baffled by this review, since we spoke with the guest while she was checked in and she was extremely pleased with the accommodations.

Key Largo, called "the first of the Florida Keys," because of its northernmost location along the Florida Keys chain, is an hour's drive from Miami International airport. Yet it is a world away. Home to a national marine sanctuary, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Key Largo boasts some of the most fascinating diving/snorkeling adventures in Florida. A host of eco-tourism and dive-snorkel services are ready to help you discover the natural wonders of Key Largo. If you like to go fishing, be sure to reserve your charter boat and enjoy the sport fishing experience of a life time with the best charter captains and fishing guides in the world. You can go after sailfish offshore, bonefish along the Atlantic shallows, or redfish and tarpon in the Florida Bay. After a day of great fishing, you can visit some of the many family-owned restaurants that will serve you the day’s fresh catch or prepare your own! And don’t forget to try the key lime pie, which is a Key specialty. Islamorada is only 15 miles off Key Largo and it is home to the Theater of the Sea where you can swim with the dolphins. It is also home to the world famous Tiki Bar serving up frozen drink such as Piña Coladas, Rum Runners or my personal favorite, a Miami Vice. There are also several other local bars and restaurants, often featuring live bands to help you wind down after a day of fun in the South Florida sun. Whether sinking your feet in the sand, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, dining, shopping or sight-seeing, Key Largo and Islamorada have enough to keep any visitor in awe from beginning to end. Staying a week, a month or more? You’re always a local when you’re in Key Largo. Come visit your home away from home.
