Wanting to share our 'little piece of heaven' with others, here the peaceful, mountaintop guestroom offers two full size beds with natural hardwood headboards and a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Private full kitchen with Lani. The property here is so beautiful we think you will want to spend most of your time outdoors. The guestroom is clean, and calming with its own private entrance. Refreshing island feel with a taino indian influence although the room is long and narrow there is plenty of space to relax and unwind. Linens, towels, pillows, beach towels and fans supplied. Also additional outdoor solar shower is available. Our home is nestled on 7 acres in the foothills above Sabana Grande, surrounded by coconut, mango, orange and avocado trees.
While here don’t miss out on hiking nature trails, exploring the flora and fauna and then cool off at la palooa (the river below the house); experience private natural waterfalls, swimming holes and rock formations.
Enjoy your breakfast with a view perched upon your private shaded terrace overlooking the valley below. Then at the end of the day just kick back and bask in the beautiful sunsets.
Give yourself a break with the peace and tranquility you need from the hustle and bustle of corporate life. We invite you to experience the quiet beauty of the countryside, while still within the tropical climate, near the beach and not too far from everything Puerto Rico has to offer.
The Bingham Family Nature lovers, relocated from Eastern Washington. We came to Puerto Rico with a wealth of experience, from hotel and restaurant skills to down on the farm home cooking, and started the Bed and Breakfast, we have spent two glorious years here in Puerto Rico and because of unforeseen circumstance we have to temperately return to Washington - we have reliable property managers who will have your room clean and ready for your arrival. So we are not able at this time to offer the breakfast service but both our units have complete kitchens for your food prep and an awesome outdoor shared grill (if both units are occupied).
Ann & Allen Bingham purchased this apartment in 2012
We found the setting to be unique, with forest to explore, waterfall and swimming holes it just seemed like paradise to us. the house was constructed by an American with breathtaking garden pathways and views we were given the opportunity to purchase this home. we have added an outdoor shower and private guest patio; along with the full kitchen and remodel of the guest room. A newly added BBQ area is sure to please
Quite, secluded and peaceful setting a place to 'get away from it all' with a great view, but not far from what touristy things the island has to offer.
First off ... Ann was great in communicating prior to the trip. She was helpful in general about our trip to Puerto Rico. She offered great tips And answered any questions I had. The directions she gave were so accurate and it made the arrival so much easier. Second... OH MY.. The view at this house was amazing. This house was more than even imagined! Oasis doesn't cover it. A little piece of heaven for sure. A perfect place when you want to escape the realities of the world. Amazing. We had everything we needed and were created with a beautiful fresh local fruit basket which was so nice. This house truly is a gem in Sabana Grande. Last, but not least.. Dalton. He was also a gem. He greeted us and made us feel really welcomed. He was available for our needs and was super friendly. We enjoyed getting to talk to him as much as we enjoyed being there. Definitely a great experience and I look forward to another visit hopefully soon. Thank you both for this great experience.
We have a wonderful vacation in this beautiful house! We only regret our stay was too short! The owners provided detailed directions to the house, so it was easy to find. It is better to follow these directions, rather than GPS. The house appears exactly as described, very cozy, secluded and has amazing views. Dalton, the property manager who lives on property, is super nice and very helpful. You are staying in a guest house which has one bedroom with 2 full beds and a cute kitchen with a sitting area. The kitchen has all the amenities you need with an exception of a microwave, which would be nice to have but is really minor. There is a supermarket and a bakery with nice sandwiches nearby, all the necessary information is provided along with the directions to the house. We really enjoyed hiking to the waterfall and swimming in the pool. The hike was short and not challenging for us but you can always choose not to go all the way down to the bottom pool and take the upper trail instead. We highly recommend this place to everyone, you will not be disappointed! We would certainly stay here again!
First, and most important, this property is exactly as described, so I won't repeat the description or information found in the other reviews. This is a great place to visit if you're looking for a few days of quiet relaxation. Anne and Allen are great at communication so be sure to contact them if you have any questions. As the others have mentioned, Dalton (the caretaker) is very friendly and prepared to help if you need anything. This is a clean, well maintained property that you should have no reservations about visiting.
We particularly enjoyed our hikes to the river and swimming in the lower pool below the water fall. The last 100 feet of the trail can be challenging if you have physical limitations (there is a rope provided to help you feel more secure in your descent to the water; be sure to take it). That said, we also really enjoyed the upper pools above the water fall and this is a much easier hike. There you are engulfed in the trance inducing sounds of falling waters and birds; we spent hours just swimming, sitting and listening.
If you are so inclined, there are grills (wood and gas) for cooking on the patio area, which is also a great place to watch the sunset over the valley and distant mountains. The multi-level patio area is a very pleasant place to eat and relax.
We also recommend a stop at Ely's Bakery at the junction of roads 368 and 365, about 10 minutes from the property. Excellent sandwiches and baked goods that are very inexpensive. You should also stop for some fresh fruit at the stands outside the baseball stadium in Sabana Grande just after exiting from Route 2.
Our 4 day stay was the culmination of a 2 week stay in southwest Puerto Rico so we weren't inclined to leave the property to explore, although we did take our usual day trip to the Cabo Rojo lighthouse and Playa Sucia. Otherwise we were very content to rest and relax at this most pleasant property.
As scientists we were after a relaxing, quiet place to focus our thoughts on the research we were conducting in the Guánica area. The Bingham's property fitted the bill perfectly. It was a great place to regenerate after a long day in the field and Dalton (who looks after the property) was always at hand in case we needed anything.
Quick access to route 2 meant commuting to our study sites was nice and easy. I'd recommend this place to anyone conducting research in the south west. Furthermore, Ann is a pleasure to deal with and was very accommodating considering the late booking request we made. All in all I'd be very happy to recommend the apartment to other individuals conducting research in the area. Thanks for the hospitality!
We had excellent instructions on how to get to the property and were met by the live- in caretaker, who was attending to the
accommodations when we arrived. everything was as we imagined from the photos and descriptions of the property. the communication with the owners was timely and clear. no surprises no disappointment. a beautiful spot and perfect climate
has us thinking of when we can get back. we have used vrbo for many years now and have never been disappointed with our choices or the offerings available.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay at your home. Unforturnately my wife's knee was acting up and she could not join me to see the pool and waterfall. I took many pictures to show her and I spent 2 hours just relaxing by the pool, observing the plant life, and the beauty of the surrounding area. It was as if I was alone in the world with no cares. Our stay was so relaxing and refreshing and we haven't slept so soundly in months. We definitely recommend your home for a vacation to remember. Thanks you for your information and thank Dalton for his assistance! God Bless!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful oasis. It was very peaceful and quiet, with only the birds to serenade us. The kitchen/living area is surrounded by screens, so it felt like we were outside, and the house stayed fairly cool. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed eating all our meals outside on the lovely patio. The location is not close to anything, but it is an easy drive to many places. Don't trust your GPS to get you there- use the directions that Ann and Allen send you. We arrived around one o'clock in the morning and their directions worked great for us, even in the dark. Follow them carefully! The path to the waterfall on the property is a fun adventure. The vegetation is beautiful, and the stream is cool and refreshing. We especially enjoyed the bamboo patch just off the trail, as we had never seen the tall bamboo trees before. We absolutely loved Cabo Rojo, a beautiful place to swim and hike, and the shore at Guanica Dry Forest, where we explored the coves and cliffs for hours, and then swam in the waves. It was also nice to learn the history of Puerto Rico at San German, the first town in PR. We visited the old church and monastery, and their new museum. Rincon is a fun tourist town, with some great restaurants. Even though the Binghams are no longer there, Dalton was in the main house in the evenings, and he was a great help to us whenever we needed anything. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for a private, peaceful, relaxing stay in Puerto Rico. All the other places we saw were in the busy cities or tourist areas, so we were very excited when we saw this little gem in the mountains. You will not be disappointed!
