Owner loved the area and did not want to sell the house when transferred for the job posting. Owner wants to return to the home they have built over the years and love the convenience of having parks, shopping and all other amenities near by. So while they are away on job posting they have decided to rent their home to vacation renters.
Michelle McGee purchased this house in 2011
House is located in a very convenient location. Street is quite with well maintained homes. Community pool and park is down the street. All the shopping, banking and restaurants are stone throw away. Its best of both world- quiet and peaceful yet action is just a stone throw away. Park, tennis court and the pool around the corner is especially attractive. Outdoor deck is a fun place to hang out while grilling and chilling out. 2 areas with TV means everyone can watch what they want. WiFi means you can be in touch with the world any where on the property inside or out.
House is large enough for large gatherings and peaceful enough to be alone and enjoy peace and tranquility. Two master bed room assures that different generations in the family can stay here comfortably. Or if two families want to share the house for vacation both can have a master bed room.
We reserved this house a year ago for a family reunion. It is essentially two 3BR 2BA homes joined together by a single tiled floor room that may have been a porch. I should clarify that we have rented vacation homes throughout the US, in Canada and in Europe through VRBO. All of the homes have been clean, well furnished and just as they appear in the photos. Reviews from prior renters have been important in making our decisions.
Positives for this house include that it is roomy with 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 kitchens and 2 living rooms. It sits on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood. The property managers were very responsive to our calls, in one case arriving within 5 minutes of an 8 AM phone call. They corrected what we asked. However, at the price we paid, we should not have had the problems we encountered.
One bedroom had dirty pillowcases and sheets with cigarette burns (in a non-smoking house). We were unable to locate any extra linens.
In that same room, the slats under the mattress collapsed two nights in a row.
Lightbulbs were out and the flat screen tv did not work when we arrived (both problems were fixed)
I expect a minimum of 12 matching drinking glasses in a 6BR rental. We got a bunch of stray glasses some plastic, some glass.
The furniture was an eclectic mix of styles. Some bedrooms were nicely furnished, other were spare.
There were few additional linens, no extra pillow cases, no extra hand towels, no washcloths at all.
No dishwasher soap or laundry soap was supplied.
No bath soap, shampoo or other bath supplies were on hand. I don't expect these, but many rental homes place hotel size soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. in each bathroom.
Future renters should note that the internet access number looks like a phone number.
The property managers told us that the home had been rented for three months prior to our arrival, and the residents had only vacated the property that morning. While that may have been a challenge for them, our rental had been on the books for a year, along with our deposit.
My expectations have been shaped by other rental properties. This one fell short of those expectations. We still had had a fun family reunion & made great memories.
My family stayed for 8 days over Christmas. I loved the size of the home, the layout was very comfortable for 10 adults and 5 kids. Plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing, or have group activities. I really loved having the use of 2 kitchens for cooking a large Christmas dinner! The main kitchen was great--plenty of room for me to spread out while baking. I was pretty disappointed though, at the lack of cook/bakeware and utensils. I expect a vacation rental to be stocked like any other standard home in America. (Other homes we have rented have been stocked). We had to purchase a few things in order to make any meals for the week--chef's knife, measuring cups and teaspoons. One family member lives in the Houston area (she and her family stayed at the house too), and we finally broke down and made the hour drive to get some baking dishes (the rental had none), rather than purchasing those expensive items. There were PLENTY of pots and pans though! We had to purchase other basics too--paper towels, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper. When someone called the owner to ask about these first few things we discovered, I believe she told us that they provide a little bit of TP to get us started, but we were responsible for anything more. This was not mentioned anywhere in the property listing. On their own, I wouldn't have given these complaints a second thought, but all at once, compiled over a week-long stay was frustrating. Each adult was only allotted one towel--no extras at all. Four bathrooms and only one had a trash can, or even towel racks. No extra blankets. The bed my husband and I had was atrocious. We took turns sleeping on the couch and an air mattress we brought from my sister's apartment in Kingwood. Then there's the washer and dryer. The washer overflowed--owners replaced it right away, no problem! Perfect service. Around 7:30 the next morning some men showed up un-announced saying they had a dryer for us. We never had an issue with the dryer, and the owner never mentioned sending a new one either, so this was very suspicious. (To those who were awake, anyway!) When we called to ask if this was legit, she was upset that we didn't let them in. She seemed offended that we didn't trust the workers, and basically said It's my house, I can do whatever I want. A weird situation, but I wouldn't blame anyone else for not being comfortable letting strangers into a home that is not theirs, to do work they didn't know about or ask for.
For my son's wedding we needed a large house that would comfortable hold our large family. It was perfect !! When we arrived we were surprised how beautiful the house was updated and decorated and how much space there was. Everyone had plenty of "personal " space plus the main kitchen and living room was large enough to hold all of us when we were together (which was most of the time). We also had lots of visitors and we still had plenty of room. Parking was amazing, holding the eight cars we had there at times. We took many strolls through the neighborhood and found it to be very quiet and friendly. I can't say enough good things about this property! It was everything I wanted and then some.
I must add that Priyanka was wonderful to work with. When ever we needed anything someone was there in a timely matter. She always got right back with me throughout the whole renting process from beginning to end. I was so happy with her that I asked if she had any other properties in different locations so I could rent from her again. I can trust her to be honest and helpful with our needs.
This home is in great shape, and very comfortably held 7 of us for a conference at the Woodlands. The location was quiet and peaceful. The driveway easily held our 3 cars to shuttle the 7 of us to the conference and back. All of us, while from different institutions and locations, were very happy with the arrangement, sharing the beautiful home, and having space for the group to interact and enjoy each others company. We look forward to pursuing something similar for next year, and we hope to return to this house. *Highly recommend*
This place was perfect for our family on a temporary basis as we were waiting for our house to finish building. Home had all the furniture you needed. I had to bring very little additional things to the home. Home is in the most dense forest, beautiful, and quiet area. Very close to shopping and interstate. Mgmt very attentive and helpful;). Home is updated and ample storage space!!!
We had a large group, staying in the Twin Houses. The houses were newly renovated and very comfortable. There were a few things in the house that were missing or needed to be fixed but none of these things detracted from our stay and the owner was very responsive to our requests. The essentials such as hot water and cold air conditioning were excellent. The location was quiet and peaceful though convenient to our activities in The Woodlands and Lake Conroe. The Main house has a large open-plan kitchen/dining room/living room which easily accommodated our group dinners. We all enjoyed our stay.
