About Kris Rogers

We are semi-retired professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kris was a Radiologic Technologist and Don was an Engineering Project Manager. We were attracted to the beauty and tranquility of the area.

Kris Rogers purchased this house in 2010

Why Kris Rogers chose Yosemite Area

Our honeymoon was in Yosemite and we have shared a love of this area. We loved the open concept, exposed wood beam ceiling in the living room, the slate floors, and granite counter tops. We saw the potential in this property from the immediate yard area to the more remote areas that are picturesque and great for future development.

What makes this house unique

We love looking at our mountain view, the beautiful sunsets, and the visiting wildlife. While drinking coffee on our covered patio we enjoy watching the hummingbirds. Evenings are enjoyed with a glass of wine while relaxing on the swing bed under the covered pergola. Other activities include working on the property, hiking, riding bicycles, ATVs, and motorcycles.

Beautiful nature retreat at the doors of Yosemite!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this awesome nature escape home at the doors of Yosemite. The house is very well appointed: great kitchen, top notch entertainment, awesome jet tub... Even under the rain (we had a rainy President's Day weekend), we managed to enjoy the great backyard. Our party of 10 had a blast. We loved the feeling of being in the middle of mother nature! After spending the day enjoying Yosemite National Park, it was priceless to retreat in our luxury escape. Above all, Kris made the entire process effortless and was quick to meet all our needs. Highly recommended!

Without second thoughts i can say, this is the best vacation home i have stayed so far. This property is situated at a amazing location in the middle of a forest with excellent amenities. We were a group of 11 people(7 adults and 4 kids) and all of them liked this place a lot. Very well planned & maintained to engage all age groups. We all enjoyed playing golf , fuss ball, air hockey, dart, badminton, indoor games etc. My 7 year daughter was saying if we can live in this house forever :-). We were very happy staying at this place and already planning to be back in spring. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives.

Kris & Don were amazing..they were very supportive right from the point of reservation!. I don't have enough words to appreciate Kris and Don...truely amazing couple!.

Dream Cabin close to Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

One word describes the cabin and its amenities, amazing! The only complaint was the lighters were out of fuel, but was easily fixed. The cabin was clean upon arrival and the description above does not do it justice. The owners are VERY easy to deal with. I hope to stay there again. I highly recommend this cabin!

Winter vacation @ howling wolf mariposa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at howling wolf, Mariposa for 4 nights during Christmas time. A perfect place for a group of 10 people. Kids had fun with indoor & outdoor activities. Nice place surrounded by greenery and mountains. We couldn't spend enough time outside home due to rain and cold weather... planning for a summer vacation to explore the nature/surroundings.

Wonderful Stay at the Howling Wolf Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

The Howling Wolf Lodge is an amazing property in a beautiful setting. The lodge home is incredible with a large beautiful kitchen that is open to the dining area and living room. There is a game room with air hockey, foosball, darts and a cool bar with a large screen television. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds. The decor in the home is really cool. It is very clean and maintained impeccably. The yard is a wonderland - there is a bocce ball court, putting green, badminton net, and a very large patio with comfortable furniture. The property is so comfortable and entertaining that you don't even need to leave to have a good time. The owners are great, and really want you to enjoy your stay in the area. They provide a binder with recommendations on dining, shopping and activities in the area. Kris was so helpful and accommodating and ensured our trip was perfect. I cannot say enough good things about this property.

A beautiful great lodge!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the lodge. It is huge and clean, and there are plenty to do for the kids and adults. My kids want to stay at the lodge and don't want to leave. Yosemite is about 1 hour 20 min away. Mariposa and Oakhurst are about 20 min away. It was a great family gathering for us. Everyone had a great time!

Booking is easy, instruction is very clear. Kris is very responsive. Thank you for sharing your wonderful lodge!

We are located between the Hwy 140 and Hwy 41 Yosemite park entrances. The scenic drive through historic Mariposa to the Hwy 140 entrance is 42 miles. Once inside the gate it is another 10 minutes to the valley floor. The drive to the Hwy 41 Yosemite south gate takes 30 minutes. Our favorite hikes are The Mist Trail, Sentinel Dome, and Glacier Point trail down to the Valley Floor.
