Perfect place for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this charming house. We gathered to Independence with a family group of 25 (9 adults and 16 kids). Not all 25 were able to sleep in this house(got a couple of near by hotel rooms) but we used the house as home base. It was perfect for hanging out and eating family meals. We loved using the back patio complete with tiki torches and a fire pit. The kids loved the attic full of dolls and antiques. The furniture throughout the house is antique and charming. It made you feel like you were living back in the early 1900s. There is even an old record player. So fun! The house had plenty of towels, linens and blankets and the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies including a crock pot and electric griddle...we used both to cook pancakes and a big supper for all those kids! We appreciated a personal tour by the owner who was available to help with any needs. We loved staying in this charming house in a historic part of town and would definitely do it again.

Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

Curtis was very knowledgeable about the history of the home and neighborhood. Overall, my group of 9 was comfortable and impressed with how well the house was stocked. We didn't have a problem with just one full bathroom after we worked out a schedule. Most of the women did their makeup using the vanities that were in the rooms. We set down towels first, the wood was beautiful. It was the perfect place to relax after our day out and about.

Great place to stay. Just a short distance to KC

  • 5 of 5

We went there to see the Pompeii Exhibition in KC. The house was the perfect location for our visit. Just a short distance from KC - approximately 25 minutes. It accomodated 11 very comfortably. It was well stocked with towels, dishes, coffee, etc. We will definately be staying there again!

Great historic home, 0wners provide for comfort

  • 5 of 5

Was a great stay! Just a few comments-shower is way small, and there is only one complete bathroom. Given that the house can hosts quite a few people, it could get tight. Only one bedroom has a tv. And be aware all bedrooms are upstairs so if you have older or disabled persons it wouldn't work for you. Very nice, safe neighborhood.

Awesome house close to the stadium and downtown KC

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in several homes booked on homeaway.com and other sites and this house is awesome. Plenty of sleeping room and beds for up to 11 as the description states. House is impeccably clean and well mananged. Location is perfect for anyone in town for the Chiefs or Royal games and close to downtown for night life. The only draw back for a big group is one full bathroom with a shower. It wasn't an issue for my party of six but could be an issue for larger parties. Home owner is easy to deal with and very detailed in his tour of the house and amenities. Will definitely keep this on my list of places to stay in Kansas City.
