About Sharlotte Blake
I am originally from the East Coast via Philadelphia & New York and settled in Los Angeles in 1999. I met my husband, originally from LA, in Los Angeles and we have a young son. I have worked in Entertainment for much of my adult life in both Music and Film. I also love design and real estate and owning Vacation Rentals has been a wonderful experience for me.
Why Sharlotte Blake chose Fairfax
We bought this property in 2001 after living in the neighborhood for years. We lovingly renovated and restored it to its 1936 grandeur and added all the conveniences of modern living.
What makes this Apartment unique
The location of this property cannot be beat. We are truly in the heart of everything yet still in a quiet residential neighborhood. You can walk to a lot but come home to the peaceful tree-lined street where neighbors walk their kids and dogs and chat with each other as locals do.

Great owner. Very suitable for seven people. Fantastic location.
Great Place to Stay
All was as advertised. Some strict guidelines to adhere to, but they benefit both sides of the rental. Bathrooms were a little on the small side, but everything was clean and well kept. Manager was kind, communicated timely, and was very nice to work with. Would definitely stay here again.
Amazing location, great house with lots of character
The house was great, in a great location. Its an old house but beautifully renovated. Sharlotte was wonderful and answered all our questions, she even shipped a package I forgot in LA. The house was spotless and very comfortable.
Lovely, spacious apartment in safe, convenient LA neighborhood
We loved our stay at this spacious, clean, well appointed apartment. We loved the stylish kitchen and lovely updates to this beautiful apartment. We also enjoyed the two outside balconies, to enjoy the lovely California weather.
We stayed there with our 2 grown children and their partners, and which offered plenty of space to stretch out and share together time without being on top of each other. Also, Sharlotte thoughtfully provides her guests with access to travel/tourism information, and a great guide book that explains the apartment and local favorites, which we appreciated.
The beds were very comfortable, the showers were nice and hot, and it was a quiet environment. It felt very safe, and was located, as reported in the advertisement, as being very conveniently located to a local, very attractive shopping area, "The Grove," which included a lovely farmers marketplace. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to this area, which took us past several local shops, restaurants, and a small , attractive park.
This apartment is also very close to not only one, but two Trader Joe's, a Whole Foods, a CVS pharmacy and another local grocery store, which is convenient to pick up groceries and personal items for your stay if required.
A bonus of this apartment is that it has parking included, which seems to be something of a rarity in LA! We did find street parking available as well, but having a set spot to leave our car was extremely nice. (We've stayed previously in other places before finding this place that did not include parking, and found the process of finding street parking VERY stressful!...So no worries about that here!)
Sharlotte was very responsive and professional, answering any questions we had in a prompt fashion. She lives in the same area as this apartment, so she was easily available if we needed to reach her.
We would be delighted to stay in this, or one of Sharlotte's other properties on any future visits!
A wonderful home in a perfect location
Our family of five stayed for nearly a week and the whole experience was wonderful. This was our first time to use HomeAway but it won't be our last. The property was clean and lovely. There was plenty of room. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook meals for nights that we did not enjoy the local restaurants. There was a large bathroom that we used the majority of the time and a smaller one that was used only as needed. All five of us were able to shower in the morning without running out of hot water. Traffic in LA is something that we did not properly plan for, so we were fortunate to have a place that was centrally located. Sharlotte was quick to answer questions via text. We are already looking forward to going back.
The apartment is nice. The pictures do it justice. Good location. That being said the owner is running a business. She has a long list of rules and sticks by them. I have stayed at at least a dozen home away places, and will use them again. But if this would have been my first experience I would not. I have never had to vacuum or sweep, asked to remove stains from wash cloths. Need to buy toilet paper. Paid for early entrance and been charged extra because we dropped off our suitcases earlier.( guess we should have sat on them in the driveway). And been sent an email cause our delivery (meal) contacted her because he couldn't find the apartment. Sorry Sharlotte you really made all four ladies feel like we were a nuisance!
I wrote a long winded response to this and have since deleted it as I believe our other 50+ 5 star reviews speak for themselves. This guest has irrational expectations of vacation rentals as is evidenced by the other reviews she has left on properties. She has only left 3 reviews on the 12 properties she has stayed in and appears to be of the ilk of only leaving bad reviews and no great ones. Had I been able to see the reviews she had left on her other trips prior to accepting her booking I likely would not have rented to her as it is clear she is a guest that cannot be pleased. I can say in 5 years of renting out properties to vacationers and hosting hundreds of guests, I can count on one hand the number of guests that treated me as this guest did. I'm very fortunate that my vetting process is usually quite good and this doesn't happen very often. I know I have beautiful properties and am an excellent caretaker and host. In that knowledge I will take solace and look forward to my next, more pleasant, guests including my upcoming holiday guests from Hawaii that will be spending their 4th Christmas with us in this very property!
Location! Location! You can enjoy all that LA and Hollywood have to offer minutes away and come 'home' to a quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of it all! We are centrally located between the San Fernando Valley and the Beach. Only 7 miles from the Film Studios in Burbank (Warner Brothers & Universal) and 10 miles to the beach and the airport in the other direction. We are right around the corner from Paramount Studios as well as CBS Studios. Located just Southwest of Hollywood and a few blocks from West Hollywood, A 5 minute drive to the East is the quaint Larchmont Village. A 'local' spot for a fabulous Sunday Farmer's market, many restaurants and great coffee shops & ice cream shops as well as some wonderful local specialty shops. You are only 2 miles from the Heart of Hollywood. See the sights on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, stop by Grauman's Chinese Theater to see the hand prints of the Stars, The Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum are always great fun as well. For shopping and the occasional celebrity spotting take a 5 minute stroll West to The Grove at Farmers Market, only a few blocks away. Next to the Grove is Pan Pacific Park where you can run, relax, and picnic. There are several playgrounds for the kids, and many fields for soccer, baseball & more. The Original Farmer's Market, established in 1934 is nearby at 3rd & Fairfax. It has both fresh produce every day as well as great restaurants of all types, from Parisian crepes to Mexican tacos, to Indonesian fare, Brazilian dishes and more. The whole family can find something they like with the variety at this outdoor market.
