Why The Owner chose Coastal North Carolina

First and foremost, welcome to my newly renovated little slice of heaven.

Call My Bluff was built in 1947 and was originally a fish camp. Fishermen came to relax for a week or weekend of fishing and preparing and eating their catch. If you look above the bed in the bedroom, you can see where the stove pipe was vented through the top of the cottage to heat the fishermen. Up until the winter of 2014, the back porch was screened-in exposing the bathroom to the elements. Even though this was the quaint original structure, there were some things that needed to be modified to make this a cottage comfortable for all seasons.

Enjoy the new outdoor shower, private porch with new case windows, insulation and new windows throughout, steps to the 70’ dock below, upgraded furniture, kitchen cookware and flatware, new steps and handrails to the roadside entrance, new shady umbrella for the dining table on the riverside deck and a 32” smart TV with cable and wireless internet.

Bring your book, a fishing pole and some summer beverages, and you should be equipped for your vacation getaway at Call My Bluff Cottage on the Neuse River at Minnesott Beach, North Carolina. If you are single and need a retreat or if you are a couple seeking a romantic getaway, this is for you! For small families, it is a cozy spot if you love the river and relaxing on the screened-in porch, set for privacy and relaxation. Fishermen welcome. No pets please.

The cottage rents for $825 per week, $325 per weekend, and $100 for each additional night. The cottage will accommodate 4. Go to vrbo to view Call My Bluff. Enter the #359773. If you would like to see the larger cottage next to Call My Bluff, go to vrbo and enter the # 245297 to view Journey’s End Cottage which accommodates 8. Journey’s End is the oldest structure along this stretch of the Neuse River. Old but equipped with everything that you need to make a week or weekend vacation optimal.

What makes this cottage unique

Relaxation, fishing, a sunset walk on the waterfront, meals with a view of the Neuse River, kayaking, shopping, and dining in Oriental, Beaufort or New Bern.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

First time to Minnesott Beach for vacation. The cottage is amazing...thoughtfully appointed...fantastic amenities (porch with river views, outdoor shower, kayaks, etc.). Neuse River breezes were fantastic, did not use A/C the entire time. Can't say enough good things. Thank you Terry!

Unplug and Relax!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves just chilling out. LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!! The cottage is just adorable, very well appointed and is in a great location overlooking the Neuse River. We sat on the screened porch at night and felt like we were in our own little world. If you want to relax and recharge , this is the place to do it. We were quite close to the ferry and able to hop aboard for side trips over to New Bern and the beaches. The fishing was great right off the dock, and we saw a number of different kinds of birds (gulls, pelicans, ) .

This was one of the most restful vacations that we have had, and we are planning on returning just as soon as our schedule permits.

Great, relaxing getaway cottage

  • 4 of 5

Call my Bluff is exactly what you would want to get away from the crowded beaches and condos. The ferry is less than a mile away where you can cross the river with your vehicle to go to the beach if desired. The cottage has everything you need, including an awesome outdoor, hot water shower. It if fixed up with every detail in mind. Just be careful drinking too much wine and walking on the uneven floorboards! Terry has thought of all your needs, including providing kayaks, a fishing peer, crab traps, and both screened in and outdoor decks. I even saw the resident eagle. We'll be back!

Sweet cottage in a beautiful setting!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in "Call My Bluff!" It's so cute and has lots of adorable nautical details that feel very authentic. It's comfortable, very clean, and the setting is perfect. It's literally 90 seconds from the ferry to head over to Beaufort or the beaches. We enjoyed exploring the area from our cabin on the Neuse. If you love the water and the quaint coastal region, you'll love this cottage!

Excellent cottage with a beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

Terry is stellar to rent from! She is so kind and generous. I had a wonderful time at the cottage with three of my close friends. The dock is perfect for kayaking, watching the sunset, and (if you're lucky) spotting the wild dolphins! Secluded, quiet, and relaxing. No complaints!

Owner's Response: Once in a while I am able to meet my guests on the river. This was one of them Ashley and friends were like old friends arriving for a weekend on the river. It was great to know that they understood the possibilities of this cottage and it's views. I hope you will return for another getaway with old friends. Terry
