"Denise has been a lovely host for our stay in her apartment in the Lower East Side and a pleasure to deal with. Location of this apartment is perfect to explore downtown NY with plenty of wonderful cafes and restaurants close by, walk a few blocks and you are in Soho, Nolita, Little Italy and there's easy access to the subway. The apartment is amazing, decorated beautifully, with fabulous bathrooms, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and the added luxury of having a nice sitting area with cable and wifi with plenty of space. Large outdoor terrace is a nice space to relax. I stayed here with my friend who has been to NY many times over the last 2 years and she has said that this apartment is the best 2 bedroom she has stayed at. Highly recommend staying here."
My brother and I rented this unit on the Lower East Side for the last two weeks of September. We were very satisifed with both the apartment and the neighborhood. The neighborhood is about one third Chinese, one third Hispanic, and one third young professionals. It feels totally safe and is within easy distance of a subway station.
In theory the unit can sleep six, but in my view three or four is more practical. Kitchen/living room is somewhat compact.
My family of 4 - including two children in their early 20's - spent two very lovely weeks in Denise's apartment. We arrived on Thanksgiving and Denise had organised for someone else to be at the apartment which I completely understood. I did speak to her by phone and all questions were answered easily. The apartment is as described. The kitchen is perhaps smaller than expected but I had no plans to use it as a full kitchen so it was not a problem. It was perfect for making a coffee, heating up leftovers, quick breakfasts etc. The two separate bedrooms with their own bathrooms was ideal for our situation. The washer/dryer was very useful too. It was a little cold to enjoy the little courtyard space but I could see it would have been nice had it been Spring/Summer. The apartment was warm and cozy and I don't mean small. I never turned on the heating but we also had lovely weather for that time of year! I have to say that for the price and position, I thought this was real value for money! The LES is a great base. The subway was close but the best thing was the quality and quantity of very good and reasonably priced cafes and restaurants in the area. I would recommend this property to anyone except perhaps a family with young children as the stairs could be an issue. The down side of the apartment? The only thing I complained about was the pillows - they were a little lacking. I would happily rent this apartment again! Thanks Denise.
This is a sweet apartment with plenty of room for four in the bedrooms. The patio is a lovely spot for a cup of coffee or glass of wine! The kitchen/living area is tiny -to be expected in this huge city. The ad says 'full kitchen', but it had two surface burners, microwave, & toaster oven. It's not enough to actually cook a full meal, at least not for us. We did manage breakfasts quite well. The lower bedroom is great, but the window leaks badly in a rain. Fortunately we had several days of sunshine, with rain the last night only. The rain poured from the window and on to the floor; we soaked the water up with bath towels. I did notify our host about this, but did not hear back from her. Since we were leaving that day, I did not pursue the issue further. I trust it has been fixed!
