Born and raised in London!
Amit purchased this apartment in 2000
I grew up in the area.
The location is brilliant. So central and yet so quiet.
We loved the location and convenience of this flat. It was a three minute walk to Goodge Street Station, close to a market and both low price and upscale dining, and near enough to attractions to walk. The kitchen had its own door, so we were able to set up the travel crib in there, which made it easier for the baby to sleep. We were impressed with some of the touches (an umbrella, coffee), though a fan would have been nice since we visited during a heat wave. The flat is on the second floor (third floor for US travelers), but the flights are short. The street itself is quite quiet. Would definitely stay again.
Fast response time. Clean flat. Washer/dryer a plus. Great location in central London. Walking distance to cultural insitutions, restaurants, and shopping districts.
This flat is in an ideal location. Close to the tube, and amazing shops, and restaurants. The flat was immaculate and the building is great. My siblings and I felt very safe here. The owner accommodated our late arrival, we got in at 22:30, and the housekeeper met us there (she was great). The space was great for the 3 of us. I would MOST definitely stay here again!
First of all, this location is perfect. Just steps away from Goodge station or Tottenham Court Station but really, you can just walk to all the main sights. It's nestled in a great neighborhood but quite. No matter where you go, you are pretty much 15 mins away (Old Titchfield, Oxford Street, Leicester Square, British Museum, Trafalgar Square, Soho) and you can catch any bus on Oxford street to get to other neighborhoods (St Paul's, Notting Hill, Camden).
We were greeted by the housekeeper who showed us around and there are details about the room and the area. The apartment has everything you need and there's even a small little garden that is shared by the apartments in the same building.
The only thing that drove me a little crazy was the fire alarm needed new batteries and kept beeping - but someone fixed that the next day. Also, a neighbor who was probably away for the weekend had the same song by Sade playing over and over again from 5am to 9am, lol - but it was only for the Saturday. These things are out of Amit's control and I guess they happen when you are in a flat with multiple floors. Like most London flats, there are no elevators.
I would highly recommend anyone who is going to London for a trip to stay at Amit's place. I hope to visit again soon!
A very nice and convenient flat in a surprisingly quiet area for being so centrally located. Amit was very responsive. After we arrived, we noticed a smoke alarm in the hallway was chirping due to a low battery. Amit had it taken care of before we went to bed that evening.
My husband and I spent 5 nights at this Fitzrovia flat, and we adored it! The area was perfect for a tourist - very close to the tube with plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. It also didn't feel nearly as crowded as Covent Garden or Soho...just a few blocks south. We loved spending the day out and about, then coming back to "our" neighborhood to end the evening. The flat was well-appointed with plenty of room for two. Communicating with Amit was so easy, and we will not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to London. May need to come back soon. We miss it!
Fitzrovia is a brilliant area in the West End. Walking distance to the shops of Oxford St and Regent St, the theatres across the West End, the bars and nightlife of Soho and Covent Garden, and the trendy restaurants in Fitzrovia itself.
Goodge Street tube station (Northern Line) is three minutes walk.
Oxford Circus tube station (Central Line, Victoria Line, Bakerloo Line) and Tottenham Court Road tube station (Northern Line, Central Line) are both 10 minutes walk.
Bus stops on Tottenham Court Road serve most of North and Central London.
Street taxis are easily available on Goodge Street.
Getting to the apartment:
From St Pancras International station (Eurostar terminal), the best option is to take a taxi because it is only a 10-minute journey. The bus route requires some walking and the tube route requires changing line, so taxi makes more sense for such a short journey.
From Heathrow Airport, the options are:
- Fastest (and most expensive) option: take the Heathrow Express train to London Paddington station, and then take a taxi for the 10-15 minute local journey.
- Mid-speed (and mid-priced) option: take the Heathrow Connect train to London Paddington station, and then take a taxi for the 10-15 minute local journey.
- Slowest (and cheapest) option: take the London Underground (tube). Piccadilly Line to Leicester Square, change to Northern Line, go northbound to Goodge Street station, then walk to the apartment. Changing lines in the tube with luggage is inconvenient.
