Just As Advertised

This is a clean, sparsely but nicely appointed home in a quiet and pretty neighborhood. It looks just like the pictures. It is an easy walk to the restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor and short bike ride to Acadia. The property manager, Scott, was responsive and helpful. Our family had a wonderful stay.

Bar Harbor was cool!

  • 5 of 5

It was quaint, a little outdated decor but very functional. We had five adults and were very comfortable. Close to Arcadia and downtown Bar Harbor. Parking in Bar Harbor can be a challenge. We could walk downtown from house in 15 mins. Kitchen was well appointed. Management (Scott) was easy to deal with. Very rapid responses. We did sunset cruise on the 4 masted sailing ship recommended by Scott, it was very pleasant. Wish house had 2 bathrooms. Overall it was a good time.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Sawyer's Garden was the perfect cottage for our visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Cottage street in Bar Harbor is a short walk and you can even bike from the cottage to the carriage roads in Acadia (although be prepared for some hills). It's a perfect place for a family of 4 with a bedroom with one queen bed and the 2nd bedroom with 2 queen beds which is where our two teenaged boys stayed. Each day ended with a fire in the outdoor fireplace that we used to pop popcorn (using the cast iron pan). If you are looking to cook lobsters, I highly recommend Parsons which is just down the street on rt 233. One item the cottage needs, however, is a lobster pot! Thankfully, Parsons was nice enough to lend us one for the night. I'll be looking to come here again for my next visit to Acadia!

Clean, convenient and close to everything.

  • 5 of 5

The house is EXACTLY as it looks in the photos. It also has a large three season porch with a table and some toys for the kids. It was super clean and had everything you'd need for a good home base for your trip. It would be disingenuous to make any snarky remarks about the decor - like I said, we could see what it looked like from the photos. It's not going to win any design awards but it was super clean and did the job and deserves five stars for being what it describes itself as! The linens and towels, etc. were great and the beds were all made up before we got there (it says in the description that they won't be made up and I was sort of dreading making up four beds with little kids hanging off of me after driving for hours). The kitchen had everything you could need. It was a great set up for us. It's not really the kind of house you're going to spend your vacation lounging around in though. I felt like we should have gotten a discount for having to suffer through the piano with a three year old (that's a joke - it's super sweet, sort of). A few suggestions would be to get some more comfortable mattresses and set up that back three season porch with a couch, chairs, etc. instead of the weird table. It would have been nice to hang out there more comfortably. But all in all, it's a great place!

Very clean house in an almost perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

The house is really clean and well maintained. The location is great. Very close to the park entrance and to the downtown.

The only downside is that if you decide to walk to Bar Harbor downtown, you will need to cross route 3, that could be a challenge. We were with three little kids and it seemed too dangerous to walk, so we always drove, which is about 3 min drive. If you have teenagers, it should be much easier.

great house within walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor

  • 5 of 5

This house was lovely and wonderfully situated within a nice walk from downtown Bar Harbor but far enough away such that noise and crowds were not a distraction. The house has 2 nicely furnished bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, dining room, a full kitchen, screened porch, mud room, back deck and full-sized clothes washer and dryer. I had expected a nice and clean house from the prior reviews, but didn't expect it to be so pretty and welcoming (a prior review described it as "empty"). Well, apparently the manager took that review to heart because there were very nice decorations inside the residence, so there was no "empty" feel and no great expanses of white walls. The outside fireplace off the deck was a real treat. I couldn't tell you how the large flat screen TV in the living room worked; between the hiking and biking in Acadia, walking downtown to dinner, and happy hour by the outside fireplace, we had no time to enjoy the TV or the inviting inside gas fireplace unit. I fully recommend this house.

This lovely home is located on a quiet residential street with its own 0.4 acre green yard in Bar Harbor (See pictures in Photos). Importantly, it is just walk distance to the famous Kebo Valley Golf Course, the free LLBean shuttles, grocery store, and less a mile from Eagle Lake and Park Loop Road of the Acadia National Park. If you are a runner or biker, you will be satisfied with the short distance to access these athletic activities. In addition, the shops and restaurants that Bar Harbor is known for are just a five minute walk from your backyard. The beautiful Shore Path, where many of the old summer cottages are located and the perfect place to take a leisurely walk and see the beauty of these historic homes, is also within two-minute walk distance. The home has two bedrooms (queen size beds), one bathroom, and a pull-out queen size sofa bed for additional sleeping. All appliances are new and the home is newly renovated and tastefully decorated. The new picnic grill and table are available in the enclosed back yard for more relax and privacy while cooking and eating outside. This lovely home will provide you the best that Bar Harbor has to offer for this summer.
