This unique, fully furnished loft apartment is located in downtown, historic Union. There are two comfortable queen beds, one upstairs and one down plus a twin daybed. We can provide more sleeping arrangements with comfortable, high profile air mattresses. There is a full kitchen and lots of room to relax. We provide DirecTV and computer access, either wired or wireless for your convenience.
Union is a charming, friendly town right on the Oregon Trail. It is quite common to see deer wandering down the street or standing in a farmer's field. We are proud of our wonderful Union County Museum and our Union Carnegie Public Library. Our little library is one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries in the West still used as a library. Union is also known for its impressive Victorian homes. In addition, it is the home of the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show and Rodeo, proudly one of the oldest in the West.
Union is the perfect location for easy access to explore and enjoy Eastern Oregon. We are located two hours from Boise, five hours from Portland, an hour from Pendleton one way and Baker City the other, plus being two hours from Hells Canyon one way and Wallowa Lake the other. We are ten minutes from Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area, the largest hard stem bulrush marsh remaining in Eastern Oregon and home to thousands of nesting birds during the spring.
Come and relax with us. Use us as your base as you explore beautiful Eastern Oregon. Come see the Blue Mountains, the Elkhorns and the Wallowas. We provide easy access to local rodeos every weekend all summer. It is perfect for mushroom hunters, bird watchers, and geocachers. We are fifteen minutes from hiking and snowmobiling trails. It is only a short drive to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center located above Baker City.
We are the perfect place to stay when you come to the area for weddings, graduations, family reunions or functions at Eastern Oregon University, twenty minutes away.

We are on-site owners so can provide any assistance that you need. We moved here from the Portland area several years ago and cannot even imagine living anywhere else. We love the fresh air, good water, friendly people and amazing scenery.
We moved to Union seven years ago and bought one of the historic buildings in town. Part of the building was one of the original banks and the rest of the building was added later. It was the Chevrolet dealership for decades, a grocery store, community center, and restaurant later. The back portion of the builidng was reconfigured in recent years into beautiful loft apartments, one of which we make available as a vacation rental.
A friend and I stayed in the loft for three nights. It was well stocked and comfortably furnished (comfortable beds! Always a plus) and provided a great base for exploring the area for bird watching, hiking and driving back roads. The loft is within walking distance of restaurants (try the LG Brewskis Pub) the Union Museum (a great museum!), and the Union Hotel. Dave and Mindy were wonderful hosts and provided lots of information on things to see and do. I am a bird watcher, so they suggested we might try the Union Cemetery for owls, and one evening we found 3 juvenile and 1 adult Great Horned Owls lounging around the tombstones. The Ladd Marsh Refuge was great for bird watching, and nine miles away the somewhat funky Cove Mineral Pool was a fun visit. Thanks to Dave and Mindy for helping make the visit so enjoyable - I'll be back!
My family and I had the privilege of renting this beautiful loft for 5 nights and it was the perfect get away. Dave and Mindy provided a clean, quiet, and spacious rental with all of the amenities you could need. It was the PERFECT home away from home. We were able to go a few minutes away from the loft to Catherine Creek for fishing and tubing, it was so much fun. We took one day to just relax and do nothing and the loft provided enough space for us to be comfortable and not be on top of each other. The Union Market is across the street and has everything you could need for food and supplies. The butcher shop is top notch, we had some of the best t-bone steaks I've come across. We were able to cook the steaks and a few other meals in the kitchen at the loft, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. Also got to use the copper pan in the cabinet and we will be getting copper cookware for our home now. Dave and Mindy thank you for the wonderful loft. You were very kind and inviting to us and we hope to stay with you again in the near future.
I don't know why I haven't review this apartment before! I have stayed here for several years and it's always worked out great for me. It's location is perfect for just about anything in Union or the surrounding area. I usually walk everywhere I need to go. The apartment is large and very open. All the needed kitchen dishes and utensils are provided. Access to my car is just steps away. Best of all is the hospitality of the owners Mindy and Dave. They have become friends I look forward to seeing and visiting with every time I go. They have a knack for being available, and yet give me all the space I need for privacy. I always look forward to returning to this apartment.
Hank you Dave and Mindy. You made our stay at you loft wonderful and relaxing. You were very attentive and accomidating to our every need. I would recommend anyone traveling to Union county to check out this loft instead of a hotel/motel.
