Owner and Georgia Real Estate Broker who loves the outdoors wants to share my paradise with you. I am a small business owner, a frequent traveler, a sports enthusiast and a nature lover. I know once you step on the property, you will fall in love with it like I have.
I am currently in the midst of a personal sabbatical, working at jobs I love, meeting everyone I can and will soon write about my experience in the loft of the cabin. In the meantime, please enjoy my Daves' retreat while you can.

A short trip from ATL will find yourself in the middle of the Chattahochee National Forrest. Once you visit, it will become very obvious how lucky I was to find this cabin.
I recommend coming prepared with at least a few days of groceries. Once you arrive, you will not want to leave. Even though the nearest grocery store is but 15 minutes away, you'll want to leave civilization behind for a least a few days.
First order of business after putting up the groceries is to pour yourself your favorite beverage and sit on the front porch swing. Unwind. Relax. Decompress.
Next, familiarize yourself with the house. Pick your bedrooms. Become one in the treetops as you gaze out the giant loft windows. Make yourself at home. You will soon find how easy that will be.
Peak at the basement. Plan your downstairs game time. Maybe a little wager at the pool table. Bring your Wii or X Box to hook up to the gigantic TV. The kids won't surface for hours.
Next fix yourself your favorite meal. My favorite, a big spaghetti dinner. The open kitchen and living area provides a great gathering spot. Of course, hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill is a crowd pleaser. If you bring your own wood, you can use the fire pit in the middle of the gravel driveway (away from cars!). There are plenty of lawn chairs to sit and roast marshmallows.
Take a hike down Daves Road. If you continue past the house, this will lead you up Gork Hollow to the top of Picklesheimer Mountain. There are beautiful views up there. The walk is peaceful, through the tall pines and oaks, past the mountain feeder creeks embraced by dense ferns. You might even come upon a few deer.
Be adventurous and explore the area. Embrace the north Georgia mountains. Fish, hike, shop, dine, raft, and do some scenic driving. Make sure you visit all the websites listed. With the numerous things to do, you might run out of time if you don't plan!
OR you can just stay at the cabin and relax!
My husband and I and our fur babies spent a week in total peace and quiet. We lived in Blue Ridge for four years and absolutely love it up there! The town is only 15-20 minutes away but we found it almost impossible to leave the cabin and the awesome surroundings. The kitchen was well appointed, the layout was open and roomy. The fireplace, hot tub and rocking chair porches melted the stresses of our busy lives away almost immediately. The porches were even enclosed so the pups could run free without fear of running off (and they would have as we were visited daily by deer and wild turkeys). The cabin was exactly (if not better) than described and we are absolutely without hesitation planning to book it again and have already referred it to a few friends. My only disappointment was that we had to leave but we will be back!!
We loved our stay at this location but there are some issues that should be addressed by the owner. Some of these items will not be relevant to other guests as everyone has different opinions.
1. The internet service was very bad, (ordinarily this would not be an issue but I do run a business and need to communicate on a regular basis) I did however get by, just had to drive far enough to get service on my phone. Not so much of a big deal.
2. If you are a TV watcher (which we are not) you will be disappointed. (I would suggest a couple of updated TV"s. Not that expensive.)
3. Pool/ping pong table needs fixing. We did go to home depot and get some blocks to stabilize it. Also no big deal. The downstairs was awesome to hang out in. I would get all the laundry done & kick my husbands butt playing pool, LOL.
Other than that we would definitely stay again if the price stays the same. Just wished it was a little cooler & the no burn was lifted but we knew why that was in place, we can't do anything about that. Last year when we were there it rained the whole time expect for maybe two days.
Very nicely furnished and a beautiful piece of property. Our dogs totally enjoyed it as we did also.

My family of four arrived this cabin on Saturday and I was impressed by how nice it is. Pictures on the VRBO do not do this place justice. It is very spacious, well decorated, and serves well. Kids had so much fun playing pool table downstairs, listening to music, playing cards upstairs, climbing the stairs, and jumping in the hot tub. I enjoyed sitting out on the porch to read, laying on the comfy couch to browse web, cooking in the spacious kitchen and serving a meal on the wonderful dining table. I am a VRBO owner myself, and I feel that Leanne could have charged a lot more for it. This place is already very nice. Just a few little things changed, it would definitely be top notch. The cabin absolutely deserves higher place. I feel that we robbed her to rent such a nice cabin at so low price. Well at least I can leave a good review with unbiased opinion.
This area is great. Blue ridge lake is pretty close. My family brought a little boat with us and we took kids out boating, fishing, and swimming. They had a great time. Lake was gorgeous. Beautiful view and water was very clear. It is nice to come to the mountain in such hot summer. Weather is just great here! Not hot at all and we are actually enjoying ourselves outdoors! (We are from Florida)
I would recommend this place to family with young kids, and family get together. Bring the kids here and they will have lots of fun. I am actually writing the review from the living room couch while my kids playing downstairs. It is amazing how the basement keeps them entertained all day long.
We enjoy our stay and will come back. I like the distribution and the property peacefulness. Our little dog jack loved to run outside and loved the nice green area. The kitchen has everything, it was great. The master bedroom bed was unconfortable. We like that it was close to blue ridge town and the lake. The lake has kayaks, canoes, paddle board and typoon for rent which was really nice. We enjoy the time in basement with the pool table. Can't wait to be back and stay there again. Thank you
Cabin was great, had everything and anything that we needed. We stayed for about 9 days and enjoyed everyday. Here's some pro's and con's about our stay.
Large Cabin with huge kitchen
Huge yard for kids to play
Game Room downstairs
About 25 mins to Downtown Blue Ridge & other areas
Close to tubing
Owner responded fast to any emails I sent
Lots of Bugs Outside (not owners fault)
Cant fish in the pond or swim
Have to bring your trash to the dump (about 20 mins away), about $2.50 a bag (not bad at all)
The cabin was everything it was advertised to be, and more. It was equipped with all the amenities you would ever need. Our boys loved the basement with the pool table, big screen TV, and pull-out sofa. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch, listening to the stream and enjoying the view. The cabin is in a quiet and secluded area. The owner, Leanne is such a pleasure to work with. We will definitely be returning for another nice and relaxing week at this cabin.
