This 2500 foot garrison home (We named it tranquility) sits at the end of a cove on the St. George River which affords warm water (a rarity in Maine) for kayaking It also sits on a private cul-de-sak on a private road.
Upper level has 4 bedrooms which include a nursery, a king bedroom, queen bedroom, bunk room, a den, and a full bath. There is dual Direct TV with 2 large HD TV's and TV in upstairs den.Two kayaks are there for experienced kayake The house is 5miles from: Rockland, a sandy beach, a fishing pier, and Owls Head.
Years ago my family rented a Cape Cod house for a week. The beds were very uncomfortable as was every piece
of furniture, and we weren't centrally located. We were exhausted. I learned from that experience and that is why this
house provides: comfortable beds and furniture, cleanliness, privacy, a well equipped kitchen, enough bathrooms, plenty of lawn space, beautiful views, and is centrally located.
You will enjoy an upstairs den where the kids can hang-out & watch TV or play games, a nursery, and
if your concern is for a handicapped or elderly person, the first floor bedroom with large bathroom, and the side door
ramp are the answer.
This house is located close to Rockland, Camden, and Rockport-
with gorgeous ocean scenery, award winning restaurants, and so
many things to do for the entire family.
We traveled here from North Carolina, Arkansas and Colorado &
had a wonderful week. This house was very comfortable for us
and the TV room upstairs was perfect for the 3 kids.
The weather was perfect! Mid 70's & lots of sunshine. A few
showers but not enough to hinder our plans.
Visited lighthouses, sailed on "A Morning in Maine" Children's Museum, Owls Head Transportation Museum, Mount Battie, and LL Bean in Freeport.
Ate at the Slipway, the Owls Head General Store for the famous burgers, and the Landings, all delicious!
Thank you for sharing your home with others!
What a great time we had in this home. It didn't feel like a rental, it felt like we were visiting old friends. Five adults and three children under 9 had plenty of room to spread out. The home is centrally located to all the attractions and great lobster shacks of the Mid Coast. We arrived on the last day of Lobster Festival and never stopped eating it. We went to the lighthouse in Port Clyde 15 minutes south, the Birch Point State Park beach 10 minutes east, the Coastal Children's Museum in Rockland, took a Schooner trip out of Rockport. Best place for lobster we found was Millers Lobster Co. just ten minutes from this great home. We would recommend this home to anyone we know that plans to visit Maine. Great value for the price and very accommodating owner. Just the best experience!
We had a wonderful time at this South Thomaston home. It was a VERYcomfortable, clean, roomy home. The children loved the bunkbed room and the adults all had first rate (not hand-me-down) mattresses. The house is a little off the beaten path but still centrally located. The yard is beautiful with lots of room to play and nice views. We did not kayak while there (too much other stuff to do) but the kayaks were available. Dick was great about calling after we arrived and he left clear instructions on how to reach him if there were any issues- which there were not. I would definitely recommend this house for families of all ages. Thank you Dick for your hospitality.
