Location is perfect.

We had an amazing time in St Thomas. The location of the condo is perfect. We loved being able to step out the door onto our patio and right on to the beach. The beach is great and the snorkeling right there was awesome. The condo came with enough snorkeling gear for all four of us. (Three adults and one teenager) You also have access to beach chairs and floats and a volleyball net right there on the beach. We spent several of our days visiting St John and the British Virginia Islands. Sapphire Beach is a great location for this. It is located on the east end of the island right next to Red Hook, which is where you catch the ferries to the other islands. There is also a grocery store and many restaurants in Red Hook. Plus there is a marina right there on the property which is where one of our excursions to the BVIs was based. (New Horizon and Breakaway Charters does a great excursion to the BVIs) So we literally just walked out our door across the lot and to the marina.

The condo has been updated, it is nice and very clean. The four of us slept comfortably. The owner, Beatrice, was very helpful and replied quickly to the questions we had before we went and anything we needed while we were there. The only issue we had during our stay was that the internet went out the day before we left. I contacted the person I was supposed to for this issue and did not hear back from him, but we left early the next day and I understand that it was taken care of that day.

If we were to go back to St Thomas we would definitely stay in this condo again.

Fantastic studio

This condo is updated and well taken care of, it walked straight out to the beach. She had snorkeling gear and floaters available, we could see the attendant for beach chairs, and clean beach towels daily. We would definitely go back. Not much amenities at the resort, pool, snack shop and a dive shop next door. We had everything we needed. Thank you it was fabulous.

Amazing 1st floor unit with perfect beach access!

My wife and I chose to have our destination wedding in St. Thomas and we had all of our guests stay at the Sapphire resort. The overwhelming feedback we got from our guests when they saw our room was...Wow!, this is so much nicer than ours! That was a correct statement. Most of the other rooms in Sapphire, although nice, have not been updated and cared for like this unit. Overall our stay was very comfortable and everything met our expectations.

Due to continued past use, the equipment locker on the patio was slightly damaged only to the point where I couldn't lock it up properly. The owner is aware and I'm sure it will be fixed before the next visitor. Speaking of the owners, they were the nicest and most accommodating people I've ever worked with on VRBO!

Stay here! Perfect for a couple, and would even work for a small family.

Perfect in every way

The condo was marvelous! Very comfortable and clean! The location is perfect - beach volleyball, food & drinks at the Banana Cabana, dive shop, and swimming pool - are all just a short stroll away. Step off the patio and you are ON the beach. There is a fabulous reef to snorkel right there. The king bed has a very comfortable mattress and fresh beach towels are available every day. We found a lovely spot in the shade and lounged to the sound of the surf. We have rented condos at Sapphire Beach Resort over the past 7 years, so I feel qualified to give this unit high praise. B-102 had everything we needed for our 14-night stay. I would most definitely recommend this condo and this resort.

Couldn't have been more perfect.

We wanted the perfect, relaxing honeymoon & we couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay. Clean & big enough for the two of us. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was right there. Red Hook was 1/2 mile down the road with grocery store, restaurants, & the ferry for the trip to St. John Island. The beach was about 60 feet from our patio & the beach attendants were always so nice & friendly to place our beach chairs exactly where we wanted them. The condo is immaculately clean & well kept. Snorkel equipment worked like a champ & the beach is beautiful with coral right off shore. My new wife & I will definitely make plans to go back.

Okay at best.

This may be lengthy but I want to give a fair and honest review.

Room: The room itself was very dark, and did have the musty odor others have mentioned. The humidifier while is a good idea, definitely needs to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced, however. Though the owners say there is no mold, etx. During our stay the main water line to the room broke. Which is behind one of the 2 locked closet doors. Once the property management opened to shut off water and repair the pipe, mold, rust, and very very very dated pipes, plumbing, etc was revealed. So yes there is a source for smell and mold. I did take pictures for proof just in case. The room itself was in a good location, beachfront with pretty easy access.

Resort: Definitely a 2 star or less resort. After talking to long term owners and locals sapphire used to be an amazing place but has struggled in the past 5 years or so and itso obvious. No onsite restaurants, 1 beach side snack bar open only till 5pm. Pool area has dead plants and trees surrounding and a vacant boarded up old pool bar area. Resort in general is run down and has been so for a few years according to the locals and other owners we met there. Which is not made clear by the pictures on the listing or in the listing itself.

Beach: beautiful beach, clear water, decent snorkeling. Has good swimming area and rocky area nice just for viewing. The beach is the only reason we stayed. Many locals and well experienced USVI travellers say they often stay else where and just visit the beach. Great beach.

Owners: when we arrived at resort and room we were pretty disappointed as it was our honeymoon and we didn't want to stay in a dark room and at a run down resort. After expressing our concerns owners basically said "too bad, you can go else where but we're keeping your money" (my own words). So We tried to make the most of it and stay on beach or visit other places, and use time to scope out other resorts for future travels. When the water line burst (spraying water, water flooding, etc) called property management right away after we called them, but never cared to follow up with us or make sure it was fixed. Even after we let them know it was the main water line to entire room (no ac, toliet, running water etc). And repair guys said they could hopefully fix same day just unsure. Luckily they repaired and had water back on 4hrs after we discovered the pipe burst. But some follow up and professionalism would have been appreciated.

Owner's Response: Honest opinion or revenge act that the resort is not the glamorous place you might have been looking for??!!... I do not own the resort, just one condo that is full renovated as the pictures are stating. If the style of renovation is not on your liking, why did you choose it??!... Honest opinion??...Like all the good reviews that we have from our clients you assume they're fake?! We could make a bigger issue out of it and call on that! I can bring lots of witnesses that will prove you that there is no musty smell in our condo since we fixed the problem we had at the time we had the two prior guests complaining about it. I can bring the resort's entire management attesting for it. *The incident with the pipe bursting it's true, but it didn't take long to have it fixed while we followed up with only our management and technicians taking care of the fix ( after our last conversation that they were wrapping up, so didn't see the reason to take any of your time). Our AC unit was just recently replaced, so I don't know why one of the pipes burst that day during your staying. The fix took three hours and technicians were displaced as soon as we were notified. You will learn that life throws your way punches at any time, we can't predict it. As our condo is a clean and well renovated, we're always updating indoor and outdoor furniture and any other useful things!! The resort is for people that are looking a laid back experience, quiet,safe,relaxing with full Caribbean vibe. If you were into a loud, crowded and really glamorous place, Westin or other hotels were available. I can not get to know you from an inquiry. I inform every client from my first email response to inquiry that cancelation policies 100% full refund if canceled prior to 60 days of arrival, 50% refund for 31-59 days prior arrival and 0% for 30 days or less prior arrival.You checked in and decided to get your money back???!!! I wrote to you that if you have any concerns or questions to address them to me, because I can not read your mind. I guess you are very young!! And please don't put words in my mouth that I haven't spoken/written to you. You were complaining even about the next door's neighbor guest that they were smoking outdoors!! What can I do??! It's really difficult to have to deal with people like you.
