Very clean and updated! Will be going back!!

We loved the condo from the minute we walked in. We could walk right onto the beach or sit on the patio and listen to the ocean. The condo itself was very clean and updated. It was very comfortable as well which can be an issue when staying away. We would definitely recommend this condo to ANYONE looking to travel to Red Hook. Owners were very responsive as well and connected us during the stay just to check in.

Nicely Appointed Sapphire Beach Oceanfront Condo

Nicely updated condo on the beach. Kitchen items were of good quality and in abundance. This unit has an oven, and stainless appliances. Everything in the unit works! The owner utilizes the services of the property, with fresh beach towels available daily. The beach is attended, and they will set up your chairs on the beach each day. Sapphire Beach is beautiful and frequented by local residents. There is a marina on the property--convenient for catching a charter boat. Cabs are also on the property--so getting into Red Hook is a snap. Great place to stay!

Great place, would stay again!

Very nice room and so convenient to the beach. The owner does an awesome job of making sure you have everything you need. The only reason we don't give it 5 stars is the pool area needs major improvement and the dive shop and bar area is just a tent over a bar. The property itself could be beautiful with a little TLC.

Immaculate Deluxe beachfront property

The owners unit, upgrades, amenities and beach exceeded my expectations. I'd come back and stay again. The management office and cleaning company did not live up which is why it fell 1 star short of perfect. I do no fault the owners of the property and made them aware of the condition issues to which they were very apologetic and offered to send in a new cleaning company. Some things could not be fixed such as a key to the back sliding glass door which the management company "could not find" it was such a shame to have a ground level walk out to the beach from the back door unit and not be able to fully utilize it. We had to lock the sliding glass door (which has direct view of the beach) from the inside walk out of the front, then walk around the building to ensure the place was locked while we were enjoying the sun to come in and out. When you pay a premium to be "beach level" walk in and out and can't do it just falls short of perfection. I hope they can resolve this issue for future renters/clients.

Outstanding again!

This is our fourth year and Sapphire Beach and the third year renting property from these owners....Couldn't be happier! This location is perfect for our family of four; Two children ages 6 and 8. The location speaks for itself and is also a convenient starting point for any adventure on the island, from local beaches if you want a change of scenery, to red hook ferry and Charlotte Amalie, as well as a trip up the mountain fro zip lining. Beatrice and Cris are incredibly responsive to any inquiries and questions and have created a comfortable and well equipped unit for all the days you want Sapphire Beach to be your only escape. It is also nice to get to know the community here and we now have a few families we connect with for this trip year after year!

Stayed 02/14/17 - 02/21/17 and had a fabulous week

Ground Transportation:

The roads are narrow and drive on the left side. It's takes a confident driver to negotiate the road. There are open air taxis that are available for just $1 ($2 to airport) to get around the island. A gentleman that stays the winter doesn't have a vehicle and uses taxis for all local transportation.


The office didn’t have our keys but there was a door keypad allowed entry. The safe was locked and it took a day to get it open. Office provides beach towels and can be exchanged daily.


The unit was clean and newly remodeled but dark due to décor. Speakers provided have the old iPhone port so it was useless to us (bring adapter). The unit provided snorkel equipment, etc. The full kitchen was great for cooking meals and bed was comfortable.

Sapphire Beach:

The best part was the beachfront location just steps from the water. Beautiful white sand beach is not crowded with waters-edge spots readily available. Unit had two lounge chairs in front but we used the complex's lounge chairs that are complimentary but must be checked-out. Sapphire Bay Bar is next door and has great food & drinks. However, cruise ship tours make it crowded on Tuesday and VERY crowded on Wednesday. Snorkeling is good but not great.


The pool is small but clean with a few lounge chairs that are reserved early in the day. There is a 270 degree view of the ocean and St. John.

Restaurants in Redhook:

• Fish Tails Bar & Grill: Great food and service.

• XO Bistro: Excellent food and service but expensive.

Grocery Stores:

• Food Center: A few miles before getting to Redhook with a good selection.

• Moe's Fresh Market: In Redhook with a smaller selection.


Booked New Horizon Charters ( departed from Sapphire Resort Marina. Visited The Baths at Virgin Gorda, Diamond Reef (snorkeling), Marina Cay (lunch) but storms forced rerouting from Jost Van Dyke (Soggy Dollar Bar) to Norman Island (Pirates Pub). Jeff, Brad & Sean were great.


Both are part of the National Parks System with showers & bathroom. Food & drink available. Costs are per person:

• Megans Bay: Mile long beach with calm waters. $5 fee & $8 chair.

• Truck Bay (St. John): Great snorkeling and incredible sand & scenery. $14 ferry (round trip), $6 taxi, $5 fee & $8 chair.

Highly recommend Sapphire Beach Condo Resort. The owners, Cristin & Beatrice Buiciuc, were attentive and quickly responded to our questions.
