Tiny Bubbles - whether in the hot tub or your champagne glass - a perfect escape from the daily routine.
The winter season at the beach is the best - cool mornings and fabulous walks on the beach!
Our wifi-enabled house has 3 bedrooms- the master has a king bed with twin futon and twin daybed in closet, 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and queen futon, and 'the kids room' has a double/twin bunk bed and double futon. There is a queen sleeper sofa and a twin sleeper sofa in the living room.
The large covered deck overlooking the canal is enjoyed by all either for relaxing/reading. Nap on the ample chairs on the decks! Glide yourself to sleep! Continue on the deck to sit at the table for cards or a meal under the umbrella. Finally there is the hot tub seating 6 with a sun bathing deck over it.
Watch the sunset or drink your morning coffee on the north side deck. Enjoy the overhead view of the kids playing on the basketball court down below.
The downstairs screened-in party room was the addition after the hurricane to replace the garages lost. It features a bar area including sink and full refrigerator. Custom benches encircle the room and there is a table with chairs and games such as foosball, darts, and ring toss. There are bar height chairs for sitting at the bar area or around post tables. A DirectTV satellite TV sits on the bar for the sport enthusiasts to watch their games or for some Sirius music. Just outside the door is a custom Pitts & Spitts smoker/grill perfect for smoking all those delicious Texas meats and grilling 'shrimps on the barbie'. It uses both propane or charcoal. There are 2 picnic tables by the grill. Just outside the screened in room is another hot tub with built-in bench for relaxing and bubble time.
There is also a fishing table on the side of house with a deep sink to wash the fish you catch. Also, the outdoor shower is good to rinse off that sand and salt water from the beach before you get in the hot tub or go upstairs.
If you enjoy lying around after a long walk on the beach, the living room and master bedroom have a Direct TV Network. The couches and recliner in the living room are perfect napping couches.
The spacious master bedroom has a very comfy king size bed and twin futon with a a flat screen TV with Direct TV satellite and DVD player. The master bedroom also has it own private bathroom, closet(twin daybed) and locking door from the rest of the house.
Unlike some many other rentals, we have provided all the linens and bath towels you will need. Beds are already made. Just please bring your own beach towels for use on the deck with hot tub or the beach!
Every morning we beach comb to see what the waves have brought in overnight! The beach is full of beautiful shells, sea beans, sharks teeth and sea glass to take home or to make arts and crafts with. The sand is ideal for that great sand castle you've been wanting to build.
There is plenty of bird watching if you like that, some of the birds we still have not identified! Watch as they fly over the canal or visit nearby High Island Bird Sanctuary.
We want you to enjoy it as much as we do.
Come and enjoy lots of fun in the sun. Our home is great for family vacations or private get-a-ways. The renter must be at least 25 years old. If hosting a reunion, party, or reception, an extra event fee of $100 is needed.
We are so excited to share our beach home to families that will respect and appreciate it like we do.
Thank you for visiting our website!
John & Joy live in Houston. John is a retired school teacher from Fort Bend ISD and Joy finally decided to stop being that traveling consultant and has joined John in retirement. We have 3 children, 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild and love to travel. You can see some of our travels in the art work in Tiny Bubbles.
John & Joy Smith purchased this house in 2008
Joy was born in Southern California and grew up loving the beach. After spending time at a friend's cabin in Crystal Beach we decided to look around for one of our own. Joy knew Tiny Bubbles was the one with its special touches and spacious rooms and deck.We were so lucky to purchase Tiny Bubbles in May 2008, right before Hurricane Ike hit in September 2008. It was so well built by the previous owner that she withstood the storm and was still standing, unlike so many of our neighbors cabins.
Tiny Bubbles features a beautiful stained glass window in the front entryway which came from an old church in East Texas. One look at that special touch and we had to have the beach house. To be able to sit on the deck and watch the birds flying by, see turtles in the canal, and relax in the hot tub are the special highlights. The downstairs screened party room provides the extra space for gathering to eat, play and relax with its ceiling fans or patio heater, depending on the weather. Those who love to Bar-be-que will love the Pitts & Spitts smoker/grill. Tiny Bubbles has been the site for many weddings along with the reception. And now Tiny Bubbles garden is Texas Wildscapes Backyard Wildlife Habitat Certified!
We recentky rented Tiny Bubbles for a New Year family gathering... I never booked a vacation rental before so this was our first experience. Fortunately for us, this experience was amazing! The owner Joy called me to introduce herself before we booked and we had a really nice conversation. She gave me a lot of good information and guided me through the process from there on out... Quick backstory: I planned this because I wanted to have my brother, his wife, their 3 kids, my sister's 3 kids, my mom, her husband, my dad, and his wife all together to ring in the new year! There were kids and adults so we wanted to make sure everyone could enjoy the space. As you can probably imagine, everyone loved the house!!! The kids loved the playroom, small hot tub, and basketball goal, and the adults loved everything else :) We had such an awesome time and we made some really good memories! We plan to book it again this year and hopefully start a new tradition... Suffice to say, I would definitely recommend tiny bubbles!
The beach is very close by (walking distance), and there is a corner store right outside of the subdivision...
Your beach home is perfect for our family. The directions were accurate, the location was easy to find, and the layout of the home was great for our group. Your home is beautiful and furnished beyond what is expected in a rental. You truly thought of everything! John and Joy - thank you for being great hosts from afar. Your phone call the day before and your flexibility with us was much appreciated!
Finding a place that can handle 6 adults and is dog friendly is not easy to do. There is plenty of space for everyone. The decks are amazing with space to sit and relax, eat dinner, play games, and if wanted - hot tub. One of our favorite spots on the property is your downstairs game room. We spent many hours there playing darts, ping pong, foosball, washers, and board games while we smoked a brisket and chicken in your grill/smoker. Your dining room served as our puzzle room where a 1000 piece puzzle was put on the table and worked on throughout our stay. The short walk to the beach was enjoyed each day we were there. The dogs enjoyed chasing waves and we enjoyed searching for shells and sharks teeth. We found some beauties! We also got the honor of talking with a local that was doing some sand sculptures.
Most nights we cooked. The local Big Store was very convenient and then of course the convenience store that is within walking distance helped us a couple of times when I needed milk and creamer. :) The kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need to cook. I loved the coffee pot that will do both a pot of coffee as well as a Kcup. We utilized both :) The last night we were there we ate at the Stingeree - part of our tradition while at Tiny Bubbles. The crab stuffed jalapenos were awesome as well as the Boudin balls.
When your adult children make sure they know the dates a month in advance so they can plan around our stay, you know you have a hit! Our 2nd annual visit was amazing and we look forward to next year.
Our stay couldn't have been more perfect. Anything we could have needed was already at the home. There was more than enough room for everyone to have their own alone time and such a wonderful set up or all ages. We were ages ranging 3 to 53 and noone was bored or lefft out. Hot tubs were perfect and the plants around the home added extra interest. The only thing we would have changed if we could would have been to stay longer. We had a beautiul memorial service for my husband and we hope to come back next year.
Super friendly and accommodating owners. Allowed for early checkin, and they contacted us to offer a late check out! The beach home is very unique in its structure and allows for multiple families to stay and either join together to hang out or have their own spaces within the home. Lots of fun for the kiddos, and adults with TONS of games and activities downstairs. I have stayed in MANY VRBO properties and never had so many useful things stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms....made the vacation EXTREMELY CONVENIENT. We will definitely be back to Tiny Bubbles!
This place is awesome! Second year in a row we have stayed here. The owners are very nice people who are wonderful to rent from. Highly recommend Tiny Bubbles!
We were pleasantly surprised by Tiny Bubbles. The pictures don't do it justice. It is a really beautiful, comfortable home.
They provided everything you could think of and the owners are super nice people.
You will not regret renting this home. It is on a direct beach access road. It is set up for adults and/or families. There is something for everyone.
