Montecito Cottage - Classic Charm in Montecito
This quaint, classic 1930's cottage is located in the heart of Montecito. The owners just finished a complete remodel of the entire home (Summer 2013). Care was taken to maintain the traditional cottage feel, while upgrading all the important features. Creative touches add a bit of contemporary flair. Everything about this home sparkles with all new furnishings, great lighting, and plenty of doors leading to the lovely gardens surrounding the home.
The Living Room is airy and inviting with hardwood floors and a flat screen TV.
The Dining Room and Kitchen share one large space, with plenty of light streaming in from more doors and windows. The Dining Room table is traditional pine, with bright red contemporary chairs adding a sassy punch of color against a neutral palette.
The Kitchen has been completely equipped with all the necessary accoutrements needed for the chef in the group. Other handy features include a second prep sink, great small appliance selections, and front loading laundry system close-by. Additional seating at the large central island adds more casual options for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon coffee break. A mounted flat screen TV keeps guests in touch with world events, or entertains the younger guests with Saturday cartoons during the morning cereal ritual!
The Master Bedroom with king-size bed faces the front yard, where a manicured garden creates a serene backdrop to this tranquil room. A second Master Suite with queen-size bed also offers a full bathroom that can also be cleverly accessed through a second door to the Kitchen. The third Bedroom with 2 twin beds is colorful and charming. A hall Bathroom has a shower and bathtub combination.
Outdoors, the backyard patio offers everything needed to round out a relaxing vacation with barbecue, brand new spa, and teak dining table. With the beach a short walk away, the outdoor shower is a very convenient feature to rinse off the sand from a day at the beach.
Location is everything, and Montecito Cottage is poised in a quiet neighborhood close to shops, restaurants and the beach. A 10 minute walk will find guests at picturesque Butterfly Beach, near the world renowned Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel. In the opposite direction, a 5 minute walk will find guests arriving on Coast Village Road in the Lower Village. Upscale boutiques, fine dining and great coffee shops are just a few enticements sure to coax curious guests to wander and explore. If you are fortunate to be here on a Friday, the Farmers Market takes to the streets with colorful and fresh local bounty.

Christmas Weeks (Dec 19 - 26 & Dec 26 - Jan 2)
7-Night minimum (in the fixed weeks above) for all bookings made before Nov 1st.
3-Night minimum (and flexible dates) for current year bookings made after Nov 1st.
Stays of less than 30 nights are subject to a 10% Lodging Tax + $2/night Tourism Tax.
$300 Cleaning Fee (14+ night stays require additional cleaning fees), Booking Fee (varies based on reservation cost).
$2,000 security deposit refundable within 14 days of checkout. Deposit is reduced to $500 with purchase of Damage Waiver.
30+ night stays require extra security deposit, and do not qualify for the damage waiver program.

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely tranquil home which we enjoyed for 3 days which went by way too quickly! Perfect location, quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Sitting in the hot tub and listening to the birds after a day out at the beach was the perfect way to end the day. Thanks and hope to return soon!

Quiet, updated, and well equipped. Beautiful kitchen. Private. Two issues nut not major at all: 1. Pebbles on the crushed granite walks/driveway are difficult to deal with as constantly needing to take one's shoes off at the entry is not very practical. 2. The furnishings in the living area are sparse, dated, and uncomfortable. Oh and 3 . Cable service is the bare minimum. No ESPN - who has a lock on most sports these day and is basically a pretty basic channel - was beyond disappointing during bowl games, etc. these are the reasons for the 4 stars. However, those being noted, I would most definitely recommend the property but also recommend the leasing agents forewarn potential clients about these issues. Oh and 4. There is no no working fireplace due to the drought, which is completely understandable, however the the house was really cold when any door was closed for privacy as there is no central heating.
The property was in great shape and nicely decorated. We had a few issues with heat as it took nearly 2 days to warm the house before we found the room heater. We were traveling with my 86 year old mother, and she was cold as were we.
I would suggest having a few extra blankets around. The living room could benefit from a full sized sofa instead of a love seat.
All in all the property was well stocked and well cared for. We had a great week at Christmas. Thank you!
Stayed in Montecito Cottage with 2 other couples and found it to be perfect for our needs. Very clean, well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. The back courtyard was perfect for hanging out after busy days of hiking and biking. The location was ideal. We walked into Montecito for coffee every morning and walked down to the beach in the evening. We would definitely stay again.
