Triple M Ranch - Away from it all in Los Olivos
On 20 acres of rich ranch land, Triple M Ranch has carved out a modernist spot in the heart of Santa Ynez Valley. With rolling hills, miles of valley vineyards and endless sky, there are no more perfect views than from this swath of California splendor. Those familiar with the area will know Ballard Canyon as the scenic valley floor between Los Olivos and Solvang. Any home in this neck of the woods offers exceptional privacy, solitude and an opportunity to escape from the sights and sounds of a busy life. As the moon rises, and the sun becomes a memory, the quiet that blankets the landscape is intoxicating.
In contrast, there is much to do in the valley. Miles of vineyards offer numerous bustling local tasting rooms, or slower paced vineyards with outside ambiance for picnics and gatherings. Ballard Canyon is one of Santa Barbara County's best kept secrets when it comes to great wine. With unique climate conditions and award winning varietals, the area now carries the distinction of having been designated as it's own appellation - Ballard Canyon American Viticulture Area (AVA).
For the more active visitors, avid cyclists, runners and horse lovers will love the challenge and appeal of miles and miles of scenic roads. From expert to novice, there is a road for everyone! Hiking or biking up Figueroa Mountain will be the ultimate adventure in nature so be sure to plan a day to explore this beloved area, especially in the spring when the wildflowers are at their peak of perfection!
The drive to the property is spectacular, rolling past farms, windmills, lush grape vines, and even the occasional buffalo and long horn steer! Though it feels far from city life, Solvang and Los Olivos are each approximately 10 minutes away but a leisurely drive is best to allow time to take in the natural beauty!
Having recently completed a full remodel, the home is a sleek blend of contemporary architecture with glass, stone, and natural wood surfaces in a relaxed design. Following the guidelines of the Sustainability Project and Green Building Alliance, the home achieved the highest level of efficiency and exudes environmental wisdom. The purposeful choice of living spaces features a 1,200 square foot Main House and 1,700 square foot detached Guest Quarters, made up of two separate suites.
The One Bedroom Main House is bright and welcoming with fireplace, TV, surrounding decks and wonderful views of the San Rafael Mountains and the vast valley floor below. The Italian designed Kitchen is filled with everything needed for gourmet meals, and a large central butcher block island anchors the space. A rustic farm table with ample seating is steps away from the action in the Kitchen.
The Master Bedroom offers a king-size bed, large organized closets of frosted glass, and a sliding door opens to a deck, sheltered by the contemporary architecture of the eaves. The Hall Bathroom is spacious and handsomely appointed with both a soaking tub and large glass walk-in shower.
From the main house, walk out the back door and across a small dry creek bridge to the Guest Quarters. This clever design is made up of 2 separate Guest Suites, each with their own privacy and unique amenities. The 1 Bedroom single story Studio Suite features a Master Bedroom, Full Bathroom, Living Room, and Game Room with pool table. The 2-story Loft Suite is a self contained apartment with Kitchenette, Bathroom and sleeping loft with 3 beds.
Clearly it is about the outdoor living spaces that define this magnificent property as a vacation destination. The covered outdoor Living Room with gas grill, suspended electric heaters, and comfortable seating is surrounded by a massive flat lawn, lush gardens of native plants, and unobstructed panoramic views. The crystalline blue waters of the pool and spa add the finishing touch to this hilltop oasis. Cattle and horses in the lower pastures dot the landscape of the valley, making Triple M Ranch a sparkling contemporary jewel in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, rich in history and steeped in rustic charm.

Weekend rate applies to Sunday night of any legal holiday weekend.
3-Night minimum stay with the following additional restrictions:
Thanksgiving Week (Any dates which include Thanksgiving Day)
7-Night minimum for all bookings made before Oct 1st.
3-Night minimum for current year bookings made after Oct 1st.
Christmas Weeks (Dec 19 - 26 & Dec 26 - Jan 2)
7-Night minimum (in the fixed weeks above) for all bookings made before Nov 1st.
3-Night minimum (and flexible dates) for current year bookings made after Nov 1st.
Stays of less than 30 nights are subject to a 10% Lodging Tax.
$350 Cleaning Fee (14+ night stays require additional cleaning fees), Booking Fee (varies based on reservation cost).
$2,000 security deposit refundable within 14 days of checkout. Deposit is reduced to $500 with purchase of Damage Waiver.
30+ night stays require extra security deposit, and do not qualify for the damage waiver program.

Back again for another amazing week at Triple "M" Ranch with absolute peace with incredible views, yapping coyotes, little lizards, owls that fill the nights with song. We hope to return again next year!
The beds and showers were terrific and the kitchen island was a perfect gathering spot even though there were four other sit-down places to gather. Great climate control too.
The Triple M Ranch is the one of the best properties our group (3 couples) have ever stayed. We go to wine tasting once a year in February and have been to Los Olivos twice now. We loved the setting (incredible views of the valley), the privacy, the amenities (pool and spa and multiple patios), and the fact that each couple had a separate space. All of the appliances, furniture, b-rooms were immaculate, the space just the right size though a car is necessary! The home is 12 minutes from downtown Los Olivos and near Rusack Winery. We have never returned to the same place twice but this place may make us change our minds.
Everything was as promised. The views were breathtaking. Very relaxing setting.
The photos of this property set expectations high and the property more than delivered! The property was perfect for my wife and I and are in-laws since each could have their own sleeping quarters. The main house was a great place to gather for meals and morning coffee. The pool and outdoor entertainment area was perfect for an afternoon of relaxing under the sun that transitioned into an amazing dinner under the stars! The views over the valley were mesmerizing. One morning we woke to thick fog which made you feel like you were in a cloud and the next morning it was clear enough to see all the way across the valley! There aren't enough adjectives to describe how amazing this property is. We simply can't wait to return!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this property ....from the moment we stepped on the grounds my daughter and I were squealing with delight, the house was gorgeous and well appointed, the pool table gave us endless fun but the POOL ........and the view. OMG! Wish we could have stayed MUCH longer but can't wait to go back.
This worked so well for our family with main gathering area and private areas. The home is gorgeous & complete with amenities. Pool was so relaxing. Views are out of this world & a very private setting but close enough to stores, shops & restaurants. We cannot wait to come back.
