About Kai and Meghan Kincheloe

I am a retired Plumber and have lived and worked in Sedona for the past 25 years. I am actively involved in Mountain Bike/Hiking trail design and building. I spend alot of time on the land and want other to enjoy it as much as I do. I love to hike and ride. Having recently retired I stay busy in the trails community and work closely with others to ensure that our community remains biker and hiker friendly.

Kai and Meghan Kincheloe purchased this house in 2005

Why Kai and Meghan Kincheloe chose Arizona

This property was my office for the last 6 years. With the times changing I decided to restore the property back to it's original purpose and offer it to folks who come to Sedona for their enjoyment. I have a second property as well, please check it out; Blue Door House, listing # 3876975.

What makes this house unique

What a great little house, right in the heart of Sedona. My husband and I recently stayed at this charming house with our little dog, and could not have been more pleased. Leah was a fantastic host, and it was all we could have hoped for. Amazing sound system too! We went to Red Box and rented movies for the evening, cooked, drank wine, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will return Leah!

Nice house, quiet, great uptown Sedona location.

  • 5 of 5

Yellow door is a cute, clean, well equipped house on quiet dead end street. If you want the feel of being in Sedona it's the place for you. The trail heads are nearby and most were under 15 minute drive. The shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The sunrises and sunsets were a sight to see from the trails. The house has filtered water which is a real plus considering we had a party of five drinking about four or five liters of water a day. If you go in June it will get hot by noon, so get up early for hiking and biking. It was hot but we still did everything we set out to do as there was always a breeze blowing. The trails are well marked and in very good condition. We ate breakfast and lunch most days at the house because we were leaving before most coffee shops opened, three different types of coffee pots at house, drip, french press and expresso machine. Markets are nearby so we didn't eat out every night. Leah and Phil (owner) were both very nice and very helpful, can't say enough about them. We all have nothing negative to say about Yellow Door House. I would rent this house again, and we will definitely being going back to Sedona.

great time

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in your house. We did have a couple of spiders but that is normal. My sister-in-law was a little frustrated with the door, but all the others could open it with no problem. the only thing that was a little bit of a bother was the parking. If you could remover the one planter that doesn't have a tree in it. We worried that we would hit our car on it. Thanks for taking such good care of us. We will tell others about your fun, funky little house.

ok if you want to be in the heart of the town

  • 3 of 5

The house is in town which if you want to be in town, will work well for you. We had not realized it was right in the heart of town with no view, except if we could peak over the top of the motel in front of the house, which in fact blocked the view. That was a serious drawback. For those who want to be in the center of Sedona and its restaurants and tourist shops, this is the place to be. If you want to relax in nature, you may be disappointed. Otherwise the house is fine, well stocked and pleasant.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely stay here my next trip to Sedona. House is really cute and it was perfect for 6 of us. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping and old town Sedona. Good view of the red rocks from the patio. Leah, the manager, was fantastic. Could not have had a better place. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, and bed linens were very nice. Highly recommend Yellow Door

Location good, house layout great and accommodating

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Sedona. Location was a little tricky to find down an alleyway, but location was great as far as convenience. Loved the house, the kitchen and living room area was perfect to enjoy each other and all be in the same room. The kitchen supply's were great!! Leah was wonderful and full of great energy! We would absolutely rent this place again.

Very charming house, very practical too.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Sedona at the Yellow Door House. It was a bit tricky to find in the beginning, but once we got there it was really easy to orient ourselves. The house is very practical, fully stocked, and has lots of things about it that make staying there easy. Clean, well equipped kitchen, lots of shelving and open closet space, 3 large couches in the family room. We were very comfortable there and would stay there again. The manager, Leah, is very nice, and everything was just as it was advertised. There is a binder on the table which includes hiking maps and all of the details about how to use the appliances and showers in the house - this was a really nice touch! We used the house as a home base for our day trips - one day we went to the Grand Canyon, one day we went to Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock, and one day we went to Jerome and Tuzigoot National Monument. In between these big day trips it was really nice to run right across the street for coffee, to get a meal, or do some shopping just steps from our house. For our family, it works so well to stay in a home like this one as opposed to separate hotel rooms. We have so much more "together" time, but yet have separate sleeping accommodations. We can easily eat meals in the house and don't have to eat every single meal in a restaurant. It's actually less expensive then renting several hotel rooms would be also. I hope you enjoy The Yellow Door House as much as we did!
