About the property

1 Bedroom with King Bed, 1 Bath, Super cool!

Rated #1 Place to stay in Grapevine. Built in the late 1800's, this super cool and eclectic duplex house is very clean, cozy, stylish one bedroom with King bed, one full bath, large kitchen and den that offers all modern conveniences of home. (If your are looking for a 2 Bedroom look at vrbo 424102) or note: ENTIRE house can be rented for a three bedroom, 2 bath, 2 kitchen, 2 den home which opens up via the laundry room. Entire house rental is $444 per night with a one time cleaning fee of $150 and a $300 REFUNDABLE security deposit.

We offer a complimentary Welcome Wine, coffee pods for our Keurig coffee maker, granola bars and biscotti, water bottles, snacks for those late night munchies. We also provide toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, creme rinse, soaps, and every thing needed for a great stay.

Take a trip back in time while sleeping in zippered encased comfortable beds and watching your favorite movies on the main 60' Flat Panel or the Bedroom 32' LCD TV, or surf the internet with blazing fast fiber. A HGTV Designer provided most of the furnishings and colors in this house. The bathroom is remodeled and offers a walk in shower. The bathroom is period correct with the tile work. Wall attached hair dryer provided.

New plumbing was installed which provides fresh tasting Grapevine Water without that “Old” mineral taste from most older homes in Grapevine. No metal pipes here, PEX piping provides flavor like the Springs.

Central AC and Gas Heat in every room plus Split Unit's (Newest Technology that hit the US Shores). The Master Bedroom (Guess which one Doc Slept in?) offers a KING size bed while the brand new leather couch has a comfortable queen pull out. Each mattress is encased in a zipped cover for your protection.

Guests in the 'Doc Holliday Too' house are just one block from Main Street, literally around the corner from Esparza's, and two houses from one of Grapevine’s many Wine Tasting rooms. Play it safe by not driving or walking long distances after enjoying your days at many Wineries, Festivals, and award winning restaurants along Main Street.

Don't miss a ride on Grapevine's Vintage Railroad traveling to Fort Worth's Historic Stockyards for an unbelievable feel of the old west. Enjoy a leisure ride on the Grapevine Tour Bus and Grapevine Wine Tour Bus or grab a famous Esparza’s Margarita on your journey to Main Street (which is only four houses down), or stroll back to Doc Holiday's house after an encouraging pitcher.

Safely park your vehicle and leave it for the rest of your stay. No need to drive when you can walk to the fun vineyards, shops, restaurants and events in town. Grapevine is a fun, exciting, and safe place! Enjoy!

The Welcome Guide is located on the den table providing details of the Grapevine area. We hope you enjoy your experience.

About Mary Ann Holliday

We love to travel around the world and only utilize VRBO (or similar) services versus hotels. We finally decided to make the leap and offer our special property to travelers with similar needs as ours. This is not our full time job but rather a conduit of enjoyment. I (Rik) juggle many different things. I have been involved in Telecommunications for over 25 years. I also restore 1969-70 Shelby Mustangs with a NASCAR team to bring a unique and limited vehicle to the road. The 'Better' half (Wife) is retired from the airlines and currently manages the house and our two daughters along with a few other properties that will hopefully become VRBO's some day (Pending the outcome of this treasure...). This is our second stab at this so your feedback is very important.

Mary Ann Holliday purchased this house in 1992

Why Mary Ann Holliday chose Grapevine

The 'Historic District' within Historic Grapevine is where “its” all happening. No question that all the action is within the Historic District and the 'Doc Holliday' house is smack dab in the middle. Have you ever heard the phrase, “6 Degrees of Separation”? Well this story is more like 2 degrees of separation. I purchased a home from an older lady years ago whom was born and raised in Grapevine. She has since passed and would be pushing 100 if still alive. During the closing process of the house transaction, she noticed my name (Richard Holliday). She asked me if I was, “Kin” to Doc Holliday. I explained that I was and went through the story...She then shared with me that her aunt owned a house and rented a room to Doc Holliday for two months. She put me in contact with the current owner of the house of which I approached (They didn’t know the story) and I asked them if they had an interest in selling. They contacted me months later as they decided to move out West. The transaction was complete and I now own a house that my Great Great Great Grandfather slept in.

Best of the Best is 100% on the Mark!

  • 5 of 5

While I had many homes to select from in Grapevine, I selected the Doc Holliday Too house because of the high number of five star reviews as well as the proximity to Main Street. The pictures do no do this place justice. It is super cool and well decorated with so much attention to detail. The bed is better than I sleep in at home, the furniture is super comfortable, the dishware is clean and classy and the pots and pans have been the best of any Vacation Rental I have stayed in. While staying here I scoped out some of the other Vacation Rentals in the area as I will be returning on a regular basis. Non, are in as nice a location as the Doc Holliday House. The surrounding homes are very classy and well manicured while some/most of the other Vacation Rentals appear to be located next door to shabby homes and questionable people...I don't mean that to sound mean but I would like to know this information when I rent so I hope it's helpful. By FAR, the Doc Holliday House is worth the money. I'm planning on returning.

Owner's Response: Thank you so very much for taking the time to review us at the Doc Holliday House!! I am thrilled you loved our home as much as we do! I do agree our location is ideal. In fact, my husband and I love to come stay "in the city " lol, and enjoy the house when it is not rented. Everything is so close. Thank you for your review and hope to have you back sometime soon. All the Best, Mary Ann

The most charming little house in Texas!

  • 5 of 5

The house is a short walk from Main Street Grapevine. The decor is absolutely charming. The neighborhood is charming, too — and very safe. During our visit, they were setting up all the Christmas lights on the Main Street, and it was so festive and beautiful. This was a repeat stay, and we will stay again. The hosts of this house have thought of everything for you. Thank you, MaryAnn and Rik!
