Great location - Very Nice House!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Glass Cottage. Coordinating with the property manger was very easy and her advice upon checking in - on things to do in the area was much appreciated.
The house itself is amazing! No complaints about anything. The location is exceptional - a mile or so from some very nice restaurants and food grocery stores. However, don’t let the close proximity of these stores deter from the serene location of the house. It was very quiet and we never heard nor saw anyone while there.
The Saquaro National Park is literally within 5 miles from the house - amazing hikes we did there!
Overall, I highly recommend this property. I can’t say we’ll ever be back in Tucson but if we do - we will definitely try and book again!
Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m delighted that you found the right mix of tranquillity and convenience at the Glass Cottage, and that you were able to take advantage of the home’s proximity to the truly amazing Saguaro National Park. Please do return!
we had a great time at James’s house. The house is literally in the desert with huge saguaro cactus everywhere and wildlife everywhere.
The best was to be in a 5 min drive to the Saguaro National Park with great hikes, but also easily connected to the highway and downtown.
The house is clean, modern and endless desert views with all this glass.
James and Carella showed us so much hospitality that we felt part of the neighborhood .
We can only recommend!
So pleased that you loved the glass cottage and enjoyed your stay in the Sonoran desert. Hopefully you will return soon and give us a chance to earn that fifth star!
A unique and beautiful desert stay
The beautiful modern design of the house made our stay feel luxurious while the glass walls allowed lovely views of the desert landscape. The house is furnished to be aesthetically pleasing but is also very comfortable. We very much enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the desert in style.
So pleased that you enjoyed your stay! And thanks for capturing in your comments the essence of the Glass Cottage experience we aim to provide.
Perfect desert getaway
Fabulous architecture and design details. Secluded, yet quickly accessible to everything. We bonded with the desert and loved the glass cottage.
So glad you loved the Glass Cottage and its environs. Return soon!
Lovely stay in the desert
Great views out every window, including a bobcat sauntering down the road and hot air balloons at sunrise. We would gladly stay here again when visiting Tucson.
Happy that you got to (almost) commune with a bobcat, lol. It's one of the things I love about the Glass Cottage -- you can see all the birds and other wildlife from the comfort of your living room! Please do visit again.
Peaceful Desert Retreat
The Tucson Glass House was magical. Every room had spectacular mountain and desert views, and the sustainable arcitectural style ensured we were able to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the desert without sacrificing the amenities of a high end home. The location was amazing—close to National Parks, museums, and many trailheads. A bonus was that it was close to shopping and I10. We will definitely be back!
Thanks so much for your kind words! Sustainable architecture coupled with complete engagement with the desert is very much what the designer and I were aiming for. We look forward to your return!
Down a private gravel road to 3.3 acres of gorgeous and unspoiled Sonoran desert, shared only with the owner's main home (some 100 yards away). The panoramic floor-to-ceiling glass walls mean you will be completely in touch with the desert landscape -- saguaros and other cacti. Quail, rabbits, javenlinas, coyotes will wander by. You will wake up on the bedroom to the sun rising over the Catalina Mountains to the east and can view the sunset over the Tucson Mountains from the dining area.
Just minutes from the house you will be at the entrance to the magnificent Saguaro National Park (West) with endless hiking trails, climbs of varying difficulty, and the not-to-be-missed Sonoran Desert Museum.
All major shopping needs and a major cinema complex less than a five minute drive away. Five minutes also takes you to Hwy. I-10, from which it is a 15 minute drive to the University of Arizona, 20 minutes to downtown Tucson, and about an hour to Phoenix.
