Cory and I came to the Big Island for a vacation and fell in love with its tropical beauty and rugged lava terrain. We were welcomed and embraced their Aloha spirit. It is wonderful to be able to pass that spirit on to our guests.
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
The minute we saw it we knew we had to have it. It spoke to our heart and soul.
We love the privacy the surrounding tropical vegetation gives us. We are mesmorized by the array of birds- watching the doves 'dance', the Red Cardinals that come right up our lava wall and sing to us, the crashing of the waves on the lava cliff walls. The most clearest sky with the full moon and stargazing - you can almost touch it. We are in awe of all that surrounds us.
We are a family of eight and we couldn't say more about your home. There was plenty of space for all of us and no one got in each other's way! The patio that opens up was amazing! It let the cool air in. We laid in the pool chairs and gazed up at all the stars every night. We went snorkeling in Kapaho twice, volcano, geo-thermal ponds, 4-mile beach(swam with turtles), green sand beach, zip-lining,turtle (black sand beach) and enjoyed Hilo as well!! Thank you again for having us!!
I had never been to this side of the island and what a great home to stay in while exploring. The house was clean, comfortable and a perfect location. The pool was a great way to end an amazing day. The birds, gecko's and frogs where so much fun to watch. Cory was so great and easy to work with. Thank you so much for sharing your fantastic home.
We had a party of seven family members, and the accommodations were very comfortable for all of us. Our grand kids loved the pool, and we were able to relax on the Lani while they swam. Our son lives in Paradise Park and joined us for evening meals, which was exactly what we wanted. We were able to spend the days enjoying the beautiful sights around the Keaau area, and come home to a comfortable place each night. Thank You, Jim & Sandy
We loved our time at the House of Paddles!
It was private, surrounded by trees and foliage, and at night, the bird sounds are so entertaining!
The owner was very helpful and responsive, and the house met our needs just right.
One of our favorite parts was the pool just outside, and with the double french doors, we could have the kids swimming and be sitting in the family room, and be just a few feet away! It was fantastic!
Thanks for a great vacation - we wish we could come back every year!
House of Paddles was a great place to stay. The place was big enough for 2 families and very accommodating. The pool was great for the younger members of the group. The gardens around the house made it easy to relax and enjoy the area. It is located in HPP which is close to Hilo and Saddle Road to take you to the other side of the island. This was the best place to stay.
We enjoyed the place very much. The house was well appointed with the necessary things and some nice extras. The rooms are nice and the general feeling of the place was great. One of the best features is the open wall to the pool side thats perfect during the day. Would stay there again for sure.
