About Pamela Bridgen

Having frequented Whistler for over 20 years to enjoy skiing and hiking, it was time to get a place of our own.

Pamela Bridgen purchased this condo in 2012

Why Pamela Bridgen chose Whistler

Glacier Lodge is in an exceptional location in Whistler. It is conveniently located at Blackcomb Base. It has restaurants, and stores in the building and along an promenade shared with the prestigious Chateau Whistler. It has convenience and amenities without the noise and congestion of Whistler Village, yet the village is a short walk away. For those in the know, this is the best place to be in Whistler!

2 adults and five kids

We stayed here a second time in March 2016 and loved it just as much as the previous year. The location right at the base and next to the chateau cannot be beaten; it has everything we need for a week's skiing. The owner is very friendly and helpful and for the most part the front desk are too; any issues such as lightbulbs going out are dealt with quite quickly. Having to pay the lodge a deposit for pool towels and room cleaning is a bit tacky but we will be back again.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We enjoyed having you as our guests again and appreciate your treating the property as your own. I am sorry about the need for a deposit for pool towels, but that is a result of prior lodge guests misplacing towels and/or not returning them. It is the only way for the front desk to make sure the towels get returned. Similarly, not all guests are as respectful in the treatment of the condo as you guys have been. We are grateful when guests leave the property in good shape but there have been instances where there has been damage and the deposit gives us some recourse. We look forward to hosting you again next year!

Excellent Lodging in Whistler!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at the Glacier Lodge multiple times primarily because of its great location: close to the Backcomb chair lifts, away from the noise of the main village, as well as the great service at the front desk.

The unit itself is very cozy and worked perfectly for our family of four. With the fold-out sofa bed and the murphy bed our kids each had their own place to sleep. The layout is very well thought out, maximizing the available space so that you have everything you might possibly need within easy reach. Having two bathrooms also made it easy for us all to wash up at the end of a busy day on the slopes. All of the furnishings are very nice and in great condition, and the overall aesthetic is very warm, tasteful and understated. The framed canvas prints are a nice touch too, providing some local character to the space.

Lastly, the owner was very fast in responding to our questions and overall just very helpful to ensure had a great stay.

Highly recommended!

- Gavin

PS: The official clearance of the Glacier Lodge garage entrance is 6'8". So if you have an SUV with a luggage box on top, you probably won't be able to drive directly into the garage. We were able to take off our luggage box and store it in the lobby store room. We did see some other cars in the garage with luggage boxes attached, but we were not sure how they got in - perhaps they removed them and re-installed them once inside the garage? Something to keep in mind.

Owner's Response: Thanks Gavin for the positive review and also the helpful hint about the clearance for the garage entrance. We do not own an SUV with a luggage box so had never considered the height of the entrance to the garage! We are glad you had a great stay!

Wonderful, relaxing, clean and modern!

  • 5 of 5

First impressions truly do make a difference. So, when the front desk staff were so pleasant and accommodating, I knew my vacation was off to a great start. The condominium itself is wonderful! Very clean with modern upgrades, it is stylish while maintaining a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. I felt at home as soon as I stepped across the threshold. Had I been in the mood to do some outdoor grilling, I would have taken advantage of the full-sized grill and ample patio space. I plan to return this summer to grill and dine al fresco! As my vacation was to be a true get-away to satisfy my need for quiet and privacy, I spent my evenings alternately enjoying romantic comedies on the large-screen television and curling up with a delicious novel. When my stay came to an end and I had to sadly relinquish the keys, I was cheered only by the fact that I knew I would be returning in August for a much longer stay and that I would get to experience all the pleasures of summer on Whistler. Thank you for the perfect get-away!

The dirtiest place I have ever stayed. The place is very small I would only have 2 adults and 2 children in there. The two bedrooms are joined by a sliding door which doesn't close properly. The bathrooms have been renovated I couldn't see anything else that had been done. There were dead bugs on the outside of the lamp shade that I think were there for a long time. I did take pictures too many things to list.

Owner's Response: We pride ourselves in quality. After seeing the reviewer's photos (4) documenting her concerns, we note that the issue was dusting by the cleaning staff; no insects were documented. We have recently had a changeover in cleaning supervisors and have addressed the issue with the new Supervisor. We expect a well dusted unit as much as you do. We also note that we try to ensure that errant insects, even one in number, do not remain. To the extent there are any problems with dusting or cleaning by the cleaning staff, we encourage guests to contact the front desk immediately; they are available 24/7. The front desk will address guest concerns quickly. The guest in this case did not contact the front desk until check out, which was a day early as a result of a family emergency. For information of future potential guests, the unit was remodeled three years ago and has new appliances, new floors, and oriental rugs. The fixtures are all new. The door does close. We have designed the space on remodel for efficient use and a spacious feeling given the footprint. We suggest those interested in the property look at the five star review from the guest staying staying at the unit immediately before the reviewer. We also encourage you to look at all of the reviews. Sincerely, Pam Owner

Great space - comfortable and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

The place was very cozy. There was everything needed to cook food (although there are restaurants nearby too). Sofa folds out into a bed, and there are convenient Wi-Fi service provided as well as TV & speakers.

What I loved most was its proximity to the Blackcomb lift - it was a 5 minute walk at the beginning of the day to hit the slopes and a 5 minute back at the end. Two showers allow for efficient R&R at the end of the day.

Whistler Village was only a 15 minute walk away! Would definitely come back again.
