Private Beach Home in a Relaxed Setting that Provides Incredible Ocean Views! This private beach house, Atlantic Beach Escape Bethune, is just minutes away from Bethune Beach Park. It has a spacious back deck that is perfect for watching the sunset or just listening to the ocean. When you stay at Atlantic Beach Escape Bethune, you don't have to leave Rover at home, because pets are more than welcome here!

You'll find incredible direct oceanfront views from the Master Bedroom, which contains a roomy King size bed and a wall-mounted TV. The rear bedroom sleeps two in a Queen size bed, and its sliders to the back deck supply absolutely gorgeous sunset views. There are two twin size beds in the middle, third bedroom. These two twins can be combined to create a king bed with a comfortable 4-inch king mattress topper.

One of the things that sets this house apart is the large deck on both the front and the back of the house, which allow guests to experience both early morning sunrises over the water and fantastic sunsets in the late afternoon.

The kitchen is large, open, and well stocked. Along with the kitchen, the tiled living room offers tremendous ocean views. Wifi internet access provided. You'll find a washer and dryer inside this home, for your convenience. Atlantic Beach Escape Bethune is located across a narrow sandy entrance road from the beach. The home sits on stilts which provides a carport with covered parking for 2 vehicles. Bethune Beach Park, with picnic tables and tennis courts, is just a 2 minute walk away. The house sits on the non-driving section of New Smyrna Beach, making it less noisy and safer for beachcombing, shelling, playing a game of frisbee, or building that perfect sand-castle.

New Smyrna Beach is an"Old" Florida type town. In the town's laid back setting, you'll find plenty of casual dining with great seafood restaurants. Canaveral National Seashore is 7 minutes down the road where you can put in your boat for world renown flats fishing-snook, trout, reds in Mosquito Lagoon. The ocean offers kayaking, surfing, sailing, sunbathing and any other ocean activity.

If shopping is what suits you, you'll love discovering Old Flagler Avenue, which has returned to life with shoppes, ice cream treats, surf shops and restaurants. You can also take your car to the North end of the beach and cruise on the driving beach. The surfing is some of the best on the East Coast of the USA! Highway A1A is still a 2 lane road which dead ends into the Canaveral National Seashore. You can bike on the flat beach or bike in Canaveral National Seashore as well. There are Indian Mounds there to see. 40 Minutes to the west is famous Blue Springs where you can swim with the Manatees or just watch them from the edge of the Spring.

People return to this area year after year because of the location, affordability, and wonderful family atmosphere. There is plenty of affordable golf in New Smyrna. Disney, Epcot, MGM, Animal Kingdom are a 1 1/2 hour drive; Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World 1 hour 15 minute drive, Daytona Beach 20 minute drive, Kennedy Space Center 45 min drive.

*This home welcomes your dog that is 30 pounds or less!

Beautifully decorated, on beach, kid friendly

  • 4 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised at how nicely the inside was furnished. Our stay was just two months after Hurricane Matthew came through, so we weren't surprised there was new siding going up. Much of the interior looked freshly painted and furnishings looked barely used. We cooked meals almost every day and the kitchen provisions were more than adequate. We even had a platter for our Christmas turnkey. It was so quiet! I think there was one other populated house on our block during Christmas. Dollar General Market is a 5 minute drive. Nothing within walking distance except the beach, which is all you really need. Also, watch for the sweet one-legged crow out in the yard or on deck. One negative was that there had been some miscommunication and cleaning after previous guests had not been done adequately. I contacted management on the next business day, via email, got an immediate response and an offer to send someone to correct the situation. Due to our empathy (construction workers??) and their response, we would definitely rent from this company again. Accidents happen. Also, be prepared for a flight of stairs to get into house. Disabilities-depends on what it is.

Good location but very tired !!

  • 3 of 5

We were expecting much better than it actually was. The Master Bedroom/Bathroom were WAY too small. Fortunately we were not very large people or it would have been a stretch to get into the bed. House needs some serious TLC. We very much appreciated the location and the fact we could bring our dogs was the reason we are giving this 3 stars.

Super close to the beach, great for a family (we have a 4 year old)

  • 5 of 5

You can't get a lot closer to the beach. There is a one way street with minimal traffic in front of the house, but you are approximately 3 houses away from the non-driving beach which is great when you have a 4 year old.

The unit has some updates, which are appreciated. Kitchen is nice sized, showers have been updated and there is a nice entertainment system.

In my opinion, there could be some minor housekeeping such as paint and patching in much of the house. Also, wish the sliding glass door had a lock that worked, but it did have a stick in the door to make me sleep better. If you have small children, be aware there are corded blinds. Our 4 year old was sleeping in his own bed and discovered them quickly. There are a lot of stairs to get to the house if that is a concern for age/ability.

Housekeeping was EXCELLENT, place was spotless. You are several miles from food and groceries, etc. We would definitely stay again.

About New Smyrna Beach

Located on Florida’s east central coast, New Smyrna Beach is a quiet seaside retreat at the southern mouth of Ponce de Leon Inlet. It is a small, historic city, and yet offers 13.2 miles of beach to enjoy. At only 55 miles northeast of Orlando, it serves as a favorite get-a-way destination for many Central Florida residents and has garnered significant notoriety as a surfing destination, often hosting American Surfing Professionals’ competitions. Surfers can bring their own equipment or rent from the numerous surf shops along the beach. New Smyrna Beach is the second oldest town in Florida and what many call “the old Florida of yesterday.” Quaint shops on historic Flagler Avenue and friendly folks are what New Smyrna Beach is all about. Through the years, the City of New Smyrna Beach has maintained tight controls on growth, resulting in a limited number of low-rise condominiums being constructed. The city has also held strict parameters on beach traffic which, in addition to protecting beach goers, simultaneously protects nesting sea turtles. It is a nesting ground for loggerhead sea turtles, and Florida’s loggerhead population is the largest in the nation.

What to do in New Smyrna Beach?

Enjoy the many activities that come with staying right on one of the finest sandy beaches in Florida. You’ll find water sports, beachcombing, fishing, golf, shopping, and many local dining choices within walking distance. Once you stay here, you’ll want to come back again and again. We recommend that you call today to reserve your space as our condo books up very quickly. And, if you have never been to New Smyrna Beach in the off-season, find out for yourself why the locals feel it’s the best kept secret in town! New Smyrna Beach in the Fall and Winter is a great time to visit due to smaller crowds, beautiful weather, lower prices, and a beach that you’ll have practically all to yourself.

New Smyrna Beach Festivals

The downtown historic district, on Flagler Avenue, is the perfect location for a number of festivals throughout the year. The New Smyrna Beach Food Festival happens every April, offering a tasting of the beach’s best food and drink. The Cinco de Mayo celebration in May is a family fun time with live music and dancing in the streets. In August, the Shrimp and Seafood Festival begins, featuring tons of seafood as well as a display of unique arts and crafts. Jazz lovers come in the droves for the city’s annual Jazz Fest in September, featuring live music on street stages and in local venues around New Smyrna Beach.

New Smyrna Beach Museums and the Arts

The Atlantic Center for the Arts is the backbone of the lively New Smyrna Beach arts scene. The arts center has received great recognition for its eco-friendly design. The complex of buildings houses art exhibitions, performances, and is home to an artist-in-residence program. There are several art galleries in the downtown New Smyrna Beach area, such as Florida Galleria and TaDa Gallery which showcase works of local artists. The city is home to the Black Heritage Museum which has a collection of artifacts that date back to the 1920s.

New Smyrna Beach Parks and Recreation

Not only is there plenty to do on the beach, the New Smyrna Beach area includes many parks which offer camping, fishing, hiking, and other activities. Lake Ashby Park, a 64 acre waterfront park, offers many outdoor activities such as primitive camping, fishing, canoeing, horse trails, sport courts, and a boat ramp. Smyrna Dunes Park is 73 acres of land giving visitors of New Smyrna Beach the opportunity to view wildlife and sand dunes up close and personal. The park features elevated walkways, picnic areas, observation areas, and a pavilion.

Proximity to World Famous Attractions

Visitors of New Smyrna Beach return year after year because of the location, affordability, and wonderful family atmosphere. Disney World Resorts, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are all only a 90 minute drive away. Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Sea World are only 75 minutes away. And the famous Kennedy Space Center is only 45 minutes away.
