I live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. I am from Tennesee and was raised in Johnson City and Nashville. I have lived in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and several other south eastern states. I have 3 grown children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. We all love the lake and the unique log home with the breathtaking view.
Susan Wright purchased this house in 1988
We love Tennesse and Center Hill Lake because of the beauty of the area. It is peaceful but not far from more activity if you would choose to go to Nashville for the day or to Knoxville.
We had always wanted a log house and we were so happy when one of our children found the house for us. Once we saw the view and the house we knew it was for us and our family to enjoy when we are not renting for others to enjoy.
The beautiful setting that gives us the use of the lake for swimming or a chance to go boating, golfing and hiking on the beautiful Tennessee trails. Just sitting on the deck watching the wildlife and enjoying the view is a treat.
We are back to this beautiful little cabin overlooking Centerhill Lake with some of the best views in the state. The cabin is immaculate and the location is perfect, a short drive from Nashville and remote enough to be very relaxing. The owners are fantastic people to work with and the value is good. We have been here many times and we will be back as soon as we can.
My wife and i enjoyed this beautiful property for three days and are looking to have an extended stay in the fall.
Words are inadequate to express the tranquility of this setting. Having stayed here on two previous occasions, we were not surprised to enjoy the peaceful setting more than ever.
The Innkeeper and housekeeper took care of us quite nicely.
There is wifi. There is an incredible view. The log house is rustic and comfortable. The kitchen has more than adequate space and is fully furnished. The dining area and living room complemented our stay more than we could have wished for.
During our stay we were able to focus on things which can get lost in a busy world. The owner is so blest to be the caretaker of this beautiful property. I told her so.
The local convenience center has signs posted "for Dekalb County residents and taxpayers only", but if you tell them, this is Dekalb Ciunty trash from Ms Susan's place, they will smile and say "Welcome".I think Everybidy knows the Innkeeper.
The local food Lion is well stocked with reasonable prices.
The County Assessor's office was extremely accommodating in assisting with property records in the area.
The Mapco people at the corner if Congress and Briad were amazingly nice. This is a good community.
We will return soon.
We have stayed at Hummingbird Hill before, but not for a while. It still is the most charming place we have stayed. And the views are fabulous. The owners are wonderful and the place is always immaculate. We will be back soon.
This cabin has history and personality unlike the newer cabins that investors purchase to make profits. Thanks to Susan and family for sharing their wonderful cabin with us.
Perched atop a secluded but not isolated, spacious lot with stunning paneramic views of Center Hill Lake. Ample level parking at the end of a private neighborhood street with entrance gate. Front and back covered porches the back with wooden rockers and both with amazing views of the lake.
Very open interrior with high ceilings and large floor to ceiling windows elaborate the breathtaking views. Hugh stone fireplace for cozy evening gatherings. The kitchen was clean and had everything you need to prepare meals. The bedrooms are clean, spacious and the one with the king bed has awsome views of the lake.
The cabin has a great stero system, tv and wireless wifi.
Loved the Cabin, rustic and comfortable, incredible view, never had the tv on and tuned out to the world. I grew up on Center Hill Lake so this getaway brought back many memories. I will return!
Our time in this log home was far too short. Thank you Susan, for sharing your unique treasure with us. This home offers not only exquisite views, but exquisite comfort and respite from whatever it is you are escaping. Susan and family, Maudine in particular, were very quick in responding to the inquiry and a delight to work with from booking to sadly, leaving. Our only regret was not staying longer. We look forward to perhaps staying here again in a July or September rather than October, although our weather was near perfection. Doug and I really enjoyed our time and can't thank you enough.
