It is located close to the towns of Damariscotta, Rockland and Boothbay.
When anyone thinks about spending time in a vacation rental, several things come to mind. Is it in a good spot? Is it clean? Is it equipped with the essentials you would find in your own home? Is the surrounding area pristine, relaxing and a place you would like to return to some day? Is the take away when you leave a memorable one? This cottage on Damariscotta Lake is all of this, and much more. There was nothing missing in this cozy spot on the water's edge - in fact, there was so much more. We have stayed on quiet, out-of-the-way lakeside retreats before, but nothing like this. A fiberglass canoe and paddles were available for our use; two kayaks were available for our use, a dock was available for relaxing and swimming; a fire pit was available for s'mores; and a view of God's creation was available 24 hours a day. It was perfect in every way, and we can't wait to find a time to book another week. This is a home run in every regard.
My husband and I have just returned from a 6 week holiday in Maine, 5 1/2 weeks of which were spent at Holly and Mark's cottage which was a perfect base for all our sightseeing. When we planned our holiday, we wanted a place to stay that was clean and next to Damariscotta Lake. Holly and Mark's cottage far exceeded our expectations, the cottage had everything you could need. We would stay every summer if we could, the setting is stunning.
Our family just enjoyed another wonderful stay at the Cottage. Last year was our first visit which we enjoyed so much we had to return this summer, too. The cabin has everything we could possibly want and is always in excellent condition. The owners are delightful to work with. The waterfront area and dock are amazing and have all the things one could want for paddling, boating, fishing and enjoying beautiful Damariscotta Lake. The kayaks and canoe are of outstanding quality, as is everything about this cabin. Spent every moment outside, canoeing, fishing again, plenty to catch: Smallmouth bass, Largemouth bass, White perch and Chain pickerel. Enough to do here, but towns of Damariscotta and Boothbay, a short drive away. On a rainy day, made our way to look over the harbor in CAMDEN HILLS STATE PARK. Camden offers a wonderful dining experience, great shopping and spectacular view of harbor from the top of Mount Battie. Our family cannot wait to return again next summer. Thanks again to the owners (Mark and Holly) for making this piece of perfection available for us to enjoy!
Was very quiet beautiful place to stay lots to do at the cottage or a short ride away. i would definitely recommend this to a friend. Owner were a pleasure to deal with Hope to be back myself some day!
This property was charming, bright , clean and well appointed with all the little things also that made our stay so pleasant. Situated in a quiet cove, we used the canoe every day even on the windy afternoons. The surrounding woods are quiet and nice to explore. Overall, a fantastic place for a getaway to maine.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Mark and Holly. The cottage is the perfect size, everything is included. We took full advantage of the hammock by the lakeside, the chairs on the dock, the fire pit, the fishing, boating, and most of all the complete relaxation of being "up to camp". Can't imagine a more perfect vacation- Loved it!
