Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 2007
We visited the sapphire lodge for our annual snowboarding trip. Upon arrival the property was more beautiful than expected. The rooms were very spacious and the accommodations were exceptional. There was a fully functional kitchen, a patio with a large hot tub, and the basketball court with a ping pong and foosball table was perfect to occupy the kids while the adults relaxed. The cleanliness of the property was immaculate in all aspects. The property is less than 10 mins. to the gondola to peak 8 or the lifts at peak 9.
We have visited Breckenridge many times and stayed a many different properties, but after staying at the sapphire lodge we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else again. It was perfect!
When we found this vacation home & saw pictures we thought it looked too good to be true, but decided to give it a try. It.was.perfect! When pulling up to the drive, the first impression is breath-taking! The home is huge & beautiful & set perfectly among the trees. The location is also just minutes from town! When you walk in the front door, the smell of wood fills your senses. Exploring the home leads you to a gorgeous kitchen with all the essentials for yummy family meals, 4 bedrooms with enormous bathrooms (except the bunk room), the downstairs movie room with big, fluffy, comfy beanbags & a huge game room just off the garage with a half court basketball game, foosball & pingpong ball games right there. The large master bath also has a playpen, highchair & other baby goodies stored if necessary. The downstairs had a secret room under the stairs for our younger children to play in & with the hot tub, automatic fire places, endless board games & beauty all around you...there's something for everyone!! The city market/liquor in town has reasonable prices & Breck has great adventures all year round. So highly recommend, but you'll have to beat us to it! Hoping to be back soon! Thanks again!
We stayed at the Sapphire Lodge in mid-June 2016. Let's talk about the house and location first. The home is beautiful, very clean and at a great location. It is located in a subdivision about 10 minutes from downtown Breckenridge (depending on traffic) and right by Breckenridge Golf Course. We had two families (14 people) staying there. Plenty of beds, space, bathrooms and fun for everyone. The indoor basketball court and ping pong table were put to good use. Great air circulation with plenty of windows. Saw some wildlife in the area, including a fox who came up and said hello while we were using the hot tub in the back yard. As the pictures indicate, it is a very nice home.
We had read some comments about whether the kitchen was adequately stocked with plates, utensils and other items. It definitely was. Plenty of plates, utensils and cookware - all in great condition. I definitely recommend staying here and the house deserves the 5-star rating.
There are a couple of things that are worth mentioning. The grill in the back had not been cleaned. Also, make sure you read the fine print in the contract. Some items I thought were covered as part of the stay, were not covered. The rental company that manages the property (Evolve?) provides paper towels, trashbags, toilet paper, etc. to get you through the first day or two. When we arrived, we had no soap anywhere. This issue was quickly rectified and handled properly. However, when I called on the third day to get more toilet paper and trash bags, the person on the phone seemed agitated that I would even ask for these items. The response was somewhat short and rude... "read your contract."
We had 3 families visit over spring break. Unfortunately there were a number of issues we had with the property that led to a less than ideal stay for our group. The Good: Property is beautiful and in a great location. The basketball court with foosball and the ping pong table were great for the kids. The house easily accommodated our large group of 14. The Bad: Property was dirty when we arrived. It appeared the carpets had not been vacuumed. There were pieces of chips and wrappers on the floor in one of the bedrooms and under the coffee table in the living room. We vacuumed the whole place and the canister was 3/4s full when we were done. There was kleennex and food (mainly pretzels) between the couch cushions. (There was not a cable box remote for the living room TV so we looked in the couch. We ended up using one of the other TV remotes and typically not a big deal until you feel used kleenex's). The large TV in the theater room did not work. The TV would turn on but you could not adjust the volume, it was very low, and you could not change the input to the DVD player or Wii. A major bummer for the kids as they were not able to watch movies, watch TV in that room or play the Wii. The lock to the front door does not work. There were times we could not remove the keys or lock the door to the property. One night after 30 mins of trying to remove the key from the lock, we decided to leave it in the lock the rest of the night and worry about it the next morning. You shouldn't have to deal with such things when you are on vacation. Finally the property management company lacks professionalism, responsiveness and was condescending when dealing with our concerns. They did not respond to two emails we sent and when we called on the third day they made excuses for each item. They said the owners know about the lock and are unwilling to fix (unbelievable since it is a million plus dollar home). They came to the place to look at the TV and said they would have an audio/visual person come over to look at the TV. They never contacted us again or no one came back to look at the TV. Finally, they said the owners don't pay for deep cleaning on the property and that is the reason why the couches aren't cleaned or the area under the coffee table isn't vacuumed (the coffee table has no bottom shelf and you can easily vacuum under it without moving the table).
We visited Breckenridge over the Presidents Day weekend and had a fantastic vacation. The children loved the bunk room, basketball court, hot tub, movie room, and the mini playroom under the stairs. The adults loved the spacious rooms with private bathrooms, large living spaces with plenty of sitting room, laundry facility, easy access to downtown Breckenridge, and I could go on and on about the gorgeous open kitchen that is stocked with all utensils, cookware, and serving pieces needed for several large meals. The multiple eating areas (bar top , breakfast table, and large dining table) make it very comfortable to share meals with a large group. Long and short of it is that we never wanted to leave and our next visit will definitely be at Sapphire Lodge!
We booked for a romantic Valentines weekend and could not have been happier. First impressions are Wow! The house is like something from a magazine absolutely beautiful with everything you could want for a family get away and more. The house is so spacious and the kids loved the basketball court and game room. The furnishing are top class, a fully equipped kitchen and when it snowed one morning they came and cleared the driveway! Very impressive. I will definitely book again.
