My family stayed here for one glorious week and we all had the most magical time (my husband and I, two little girls, my mom, best friend and her daughter). The house was very clean, an easy walk to the beach and had everything you would need for a perfect beach vacation. The outside shower came in handy too. We enjoyed mornings on the porch with our coffee and the peace and quiet of a quaint LBI street. The owners were so wonderful to work with and it was great having them right next door. I would rent here again and highly recommend to others.
The house is just big enough for our family (with room to spare). It is very clean and well maintained, with the basic amenities to make the stay more enjoyable. We have stayed there now 3 times and enjoy each visit more and more. The beach is just a few houses away and there are lots of other families in the neighborhood.
We visited Skipper Dipper for ice cream, Blue Water Cafe for breakfast, and Marvel's for donuts--all just a short drive away. The water park in Beach Haven and the miniature golf in Ship Bottom are great alternatives to the beach.
The owners are great and very accommodating. We look forward to visiting again soon.
The Area: Our family of 4 enjoyed a 2 week stay. We shuffled from the beach at one end of the block to the ice cream store at the other end of the block and rented bikes to tour the island. We went to a bead shop to make necklaces, did some shopping, went to the water park twice Fantasy Island once. My husband snuck out early to golf at Ocean Acres and I went to Yoga Nine a few times, so it wasn't just about the kids! I got Fresh Direct to deliver groceries so I only had to food shop for the yummy local produce.
The Property: So many beautiful things to see and this property represents a perfect resting place at the end of long summer days. Very easy to cook in the kitchen (we saved so much money not eating out), everything was in amazing condition and oh so clean. I normally spend the first day of vaca at a cottage cleaning, sanitizing, hiding breakables, and organizing cabinets, but there was absolutely NO need to do so. It is obvious that the owners put a lot of care and attention to the details, but thankfully there were few knick knacks so I didn't have to worry about the kids breaking anything. The fact that the owners were right next door for part of our stay was very comforting. It was my first time dealing with a clothesline, but it was just fine! Low cabinets meant I could set out food for the kids to help themselves.
It was the most relaxing family vacation I've ever had, and the property was a big part of that!
The property is in great condition and just a short walk from the beach. We had everything we needed and it was a fun stress free family vacation. Stayed here with a toddler of 1 1/2 and sister and mother in law! Very accommodating. The beach house is next door to an ice cream shop and not far from a grocers. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and backyard grill with picnic table.
I really like this little cottage! We stayed with our 3 children and enjoyed mornings on the front porch and evening strolls to the ice cream shop 3 doors away.
The street is quiet and the beach is very family friendly. The house has a modern first floor, with a comfortable living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and back bedroom.
The upstairs reminds me more of the beach cottages of yesterday, with slope ceilings and a cool, connected closet that my kids loved.
The outdoor shower is nice and even though there is no clothes dryer, there is a great clothesline that was fun to use.
This is a great place for a small family or a group of friends. If little ones are coming, they will love the vintage Snoopy encyclopedias and other interesting children's boons from years ago. I would suggest that you bring corner bumper cushions for the kitchen counters- the kitchen is narrow and the opposing counters have pointed edges. We taped tissue packs to the corners after our one daughter scraped her side. This is kind of random, but I figured I'd mention it!
Everything else was great- super easy owners to work with, great cottage, great beach, and ice cream/morning coffee is seconds away!
This historic cottage on the outside is completely new on the inside. It has all the comforts of home and everything you might need on vacation. Free wifi is nice, as is the big flat screen tv, but we all spent more time on the beach, sitting on the porch reading, and out back grilling and chilling to bother with the tech stuff. It's a very short walk to the beach and the bay to feed the ducks or watch the sunset. The most dangerous thing though, is having an ice cream shop 3 doors down on the corner! How convenient for coffee, donuts, ice cream, etc. Bring your bikes, fishing poles, crab traps, tennis rackets, golf clubs, boogie board or surfboards. You can do it all on LBI or close by. We loved this place and will be back.
