We own the Buckhorn Supper Club, on Lake Koshkonong, Milton. The Buckhorn is located directly across the street from this home. We put this new trailer here 7 years ago. We really care for it, and will take care of any guests.
Access to the pier, and the shores of Lake Koshkonong. We are close to Madison, golf courses, museums, UW-Whitewater, winerys.
Lake Koshkonong is lovely in the fall and this property is very conveniently located, especially since it is across the street from an awesome supper club! Their food is outstanding. The house (and supper club) owners are very nice and hospitable. We really enjoyed the house deck with the lake views and loved our early morning eagle visitors in the trees near the deck!
Spur of the moment my family and I decided to head to Wisconsin for the weekend and I stumbled across Chico's listing. I messaged him right away asking if it was available he messaged right back. Great communication. Wonderful experience. We would definitely will go back again.
Very clean, large kitchen and living room. My 12 year old twin boys enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar on their laptops. Bedrooms were clean and had nice linens on them. The master bed has a nice memory foam mattress (it's rather soft). Pillows were comfortable.
Washer and dryer in the unit which was nice when we came in from boating we could dry our swim suits.
Being right across from the water was nice. We walked over on to the pier.
Great food at the restaurant across the street. Be sure to make reservations as it was super duper busy Friday and Saturday night. The bruschetta and baked French onion soup were my favs. .
Chico and Dawn Pope were very nice hosts. The rental house is just full of awesome accomondations (linens, towels, washer/dryer, dishwasher, all kitchen needs, etc.). And, none of these appliances needed quarters to operate! Others should learn from this! The pontoon rental was perfect! From the house deck you have a great view of the sunset on the lake. Great bars and restaurants all nearby - The Buckhorn Supper Club right across the street which did not interefere with the serenity or livelihood of the area - just a nice balance, plus great food and outstanding service. Lots of yard space and rights to the waterfront/pier. Most enjoyable spot for just about anyone.
Chico was a great host and easily accessible for any inquiries. The cabin was nice but small for our needs so if we rent in the future we may need to research their other property. We enjoyed the yard which was fun for Jarts and Bocce Ball. We also built some great bonfires every evening. The kids loved the fishing available off the rental pontoon and shoreline in front of the Buckhorn Supper Club. Hauled in over 8 catfish one evening. Neighborhood is nice and their are several restaurants and taverns in walking distance. Downside at the time was the Lake was flooded so we had no access to the dock for swimming & fishing. Also the cabin is adjacent to the Lake across from the Supper Club and not on the shore. If you wanted to hang near the water you had to pack things up and take up lawn space in front of the Supper Club. It wasn't horrible since they were only open 2 days of the 5 days we were there. The back porch deck was our favorite for games and hanging out. We had phenomenal weather so it was a win. Best part is the the Pope's take into consideration that you are traveling there so they provide all the linens, full kitchen materials and soap for the washer which was an amazing asset for us.
Conveniently located within walking distance of peanut butter pie from the Buckhorn Supper Club, this rental was perfect for our family of four in most every way. Accommodations were spacious, clean, and well suited for a two-week stay---a washer/dryer onsite was nice as was a strong air conditioner during an unseasonably warm stretch. The yard was large enough for the kids to run around, have family BBQs and enjoy evening fires with views of the lake. We would have welcomed onsite WiFi as well as a DVD player for those quick fixes, especially for a stay as long as ours; to the plus side, the owner was quite receptive when we suggested such additions. Speaking of which, the hospitality was remarkable starting from before we arrived. The responsiveness was welcoming and prompt. Upon our arrival the first night, we were treated to an unexpected pontoon ride at sunset, one we won't soon forget! The boat was also available for daily rental, and we did take advantage as such. Enough can't be said for the family-friendly accommodations.
Stayed here for 3 days and had a blast. It was for a friends birthday, and he just loved it. Our family also came up and really ejoyed themselves. The lake was a lot of fun too. We did eat one night at the Buckhorn supper club and must say, we highly recommend it. The host also made us feel very welcome, and were there if we needed anything to make our stay more enjoyable. We did rent the new Pontoon boat that the owners had as well. The boat was very nice, fast for a pontoon. That is a must have!!. We look forward to stayin here again before the summer is over
