Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We had an extended family of 8 adults and 5 kids stay in this beautiful home. The home and bed arrangements were perfect for 4 families. We really liked having the loft area so the kids had their own place to hang out if needed. Great location--close to Cheboygan to get groceries and whatever else we needed. The house is close to the Cheboygan River for nice boat rides, and there is a marina nearby as well. There is also a canoe at the house.

The house was spotless and very well maintained. There was plenty of room. Kitchen was adequately stocked with cookware, plates, glasses, etc. The HUGE gas grill was great! The sundeck off the dock was a wonderful place to sit and catch some sun and watch the kids play. Steps made it very easy for everyone to get in and out of the water. We LOVED that the water was shallow and the kids had so much room to play and swim! Nice sandy bottom off the dock--the shoreline is a bit rocky so beach shoes are a must if wading in off the shore. The firepit was very nice to have and lots of seating for everyone outside.

The only thing we wish the house had were dressers and maybe a mirror in each bedroom. With only a closet in each bedroom there wasn't really a place to unpack your things. But a small sacrifice for such a wonderful place!

The manager, Jeff, was very helpful and called a few times to check in and see how everything was. Would definitely recommend this vacation home!

Outstanding Mullett Lake Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

Three families enjoyed this modern newly built vacation home. There were 11 in our group, all had a comfortable bed. Plenty of room for all. Kitchen well equipped, all appliances new. Did not have air conditioning, but not needed. We were there and daytime temps were in the high 80's to 90, lake breeze with open windows was more than comfortable. House and grounds were well kept. Plenty of parking. The lake was great for swimming, shore was a bit rocky, but past that was hard clean sandy bottom. Boat moorings were outstanding, in fact they were the best we have ever had. Property manager was attentive and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this rental and I will go back. Mullett is a great all sport lake. Fishing is outstanding. Close grocery shopping in Cheboygan if needed. Great Experience!

Great experience!!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 13 (6 adults and 7 kids) had a great time at this property. The house and the property in general were very clean and well maintained. The manager was very attentive and even called to make sure all was well. The location of the house is great, being close to Mackinaw and Cheboygan was only minutes away for our groceries etc. The lake is shallow, sandy, and clear. It is rocky at the water's edge, but if you get in the water from the end of the dock (still shallow for quite a long distance) it is rock free. There is a nice sun deck at the end of the dock with easy steps for water entry. We loved the open concept of the kitchen/living room area. The patio was great as well, with plenty of nice furniture and room to relax. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!

Excellent Family Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this property in late June, 2014. The house was extremely clean and new, as evidenced from the moment we entered the living area. We were 4 families and 14 total people (6 kids age 2-14). Each of the parents had their own bedroom, and there were plenty of beds for the kids as well. The kitchen came fully stocked and all appliances worked perfectly. The layout of the house was perfect for family gatherings and also privacy when needed. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find WiFi included along with a few channels via Apple-TV, including netflix (great for the kids). The water-front was easily accessible and shallow enough to make it a more worry-free experience with the kids. There was very convenient access to amenities in Cheboygan, which was only a 7 minute drive from the house. Fishing was excellent (nearly everyone caught fish except for me!). Great golf nearby as well. In terms of minor areas for improvement, we would have welcomed a full-sized pull-out bed in the loft area and it would have been more convenient if we could have tied our small fishing boat to the dock. Thank you to the owners for a great experience. We look forward to possibly sharing more memories at your cottage!

We'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

We have all been vacationing "Up North" for many decades. For the last 15 years we've been enjoying the Inland Waterway, staying at the River Terrace. Though we enjoyed our stay there, this was so much more accommodating. The family is now too big for everyone to fit on the boat, but now nobody cared when it was their turn to stay behind! In fact we had volunteers! The location is perfect, with its beautiful yet private setting off the dirt road with plenty of trees and plant growth on each side, to the gorgeous view of Mullett Lake right in front! Wading, swimming, canoeing, (there is a canoe right there!), volleyball, (also supplied by owners), lounging in front of the lake or on the dock, while planning who's grilling and who's getting the fire going later in the pit for s'mores and games around the campfire!! And for those who do want to go on the boat, it's just a very short ride to the Cheboygan River with great places to eat, or all the way through the locks out to Lake Huron, Mackinaw City, Mackinac island, or Duncan Bay - Or go the other way across beautiful Mullett Lake and towards Indian River, Burt Lake etc. We only had one rainy day, and it didn't spoil our time at all! With 12 people, there is plenty of room inside the well cleaned and comfortable cottage to gather at the big square table for games, watch a movie on one of the two tv s ( the second one is upstairs in a tv alcove/room), or take a nap in one of the many comfortable beds in four different bedrooms.

We are already planning to stay here on our next trip back!

Thank you to the owners and Jeff for helping to make our family vacation so terrific!

(We were actually trying to come up with suggestions to improve our stay and it wasn't easy. The only thing we could come up with was perhaps a mirror in each bedroom, and some sort of flag(s) to keep the seagulls off the dock .)

Thanks again!

Great family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, new lake home. We vacation each year with two other families and my 83 year old mom. There were a total of twelve of us ages 6 to 83. We had a wonderful time and found the home to be spacious enough to be comfortable even when we were forced inside due to unusually cold August weather. The unique layout of the house is ideal with the bedroom sizes and bed configurations perfect. The kitchen and dining area work great for large groups. The TV room on the second floor was the perfect place for the children to set up their Legos, games and toys. The boat moorings were fine and the guys found a huge mess of jumbo perch on our last full day. They couldn't have been happier!

I did share one suggestion with the property manager: The current lighting comes entirely from canisters in the cathedral ceiling and we missed having a hanging light over the dining table for evening games and lamps in the bedrooms and living area for those of us who like to read at night while others are sleeping.

The beach is very nice and you can walk out into the gradually deepening lake on firm sandy bottom until you reach your own comfort level - no drop-off ever. No worries with the children in the water! We brought our own firewood and took full advantage of the fire pit and beautiful sunsets each night. The only suggestion we had was that there be fire-side lawn chairs.

I especially appreciated hearing from the property manager after we arrived and during our stay to verify that everything was fine and running smoothly. And, of course, it was.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful new lake home with us.
