Why Kendra Pollack chose The Bay Area

We love our part of town. You are surrounded by redwoods, water and the creek.

We have a stand alone apartment. The property is private, clean and everything is new. If you love to cook, it is a large, fully loaded and functional kitchen. Location provides the serenity of the redwoods but is a short walk to our fabulous town.

What makes this studio unique

GETTING AROUND

If you enjoy hiking, we have amazing trails to Muir Woods and Stinson beach. You can always take the Stage Coach back if needed.

You could hop on a bus to Sausalito from the bottom of Dipsea steps, about 10 minute walk from the house.

Uber service is a quick and easy way to get around the area as well. They'll come get you at the end of your hike!

Mill Valley Depot is just a short walk -- (less than 10minutes). Catch commuter buses to San Francisco or head into picturesque Sausalito. While there, adventure over to Alcatraz or Angel Islands via ferry.

It's an approximate 40-50 minute trip by car to San Francisco International Airport. The Oakland International Airport can be reached in approximately 45-50 minutes.

Muir Woods; 20 min by car to entrance ; 90 minutes to walk

Mt. Tam: 2 min by car to entrance off Panoramic Highway

I love the hiking and biking trails. We bike to Sausalito, take the ferry to San Francisco for the best meals in California. The wine country is an hour away, Stinson beach, we hike to Muir beach. Tuesday night you don't want to miss Mark Pitta at the Throckmorton Theater for a great night of comedy.

Cozy romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful little cottage. Very romantic. It has views out of every window. It was a little hard to find at first but once we got our bearings it was pretty easy to navigate. The cottage was within 30 minutes of great wine tasting in sonoma and within 15 minutes of Sausolito.Kendra was easy going and a pleasure doing business with. Would definitely stay again

Great location, clean and nicely appointed, comfortable bed with quality sheets. Close to town. Loved being able to use the washer and dryer. We got spoiled with past VRBO in Petaluma where they provided everything to make breakfast, but we loved this place! Highly recommend it.

Bright roomy studio in the redwoods

  • 4 of 5

My husband, baby son, and I recently stayed at Kendra's Cascade Cottage while in the area for a wedding. We had a lovely experience and enjoyed our time there. The property looked exactly like the pictures, was very bright and airy, and had plenty of room for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with enough pots and pans to do weekly cooking. However, for the amount of cooking my family prefers to do on vacation, it would have been nice to have more plates, bowls, and silverware so that we didn't have to do dishes as frequently. From the studio, it was a very easy walk to downtown Mill Valley. The location also made driving to Muir Woods, shopping at Corte Madera, or seeing the Golden Gate Bridge very easy. We had no trouble accessing the internet and Wi-Fi was good throughout our trip. The neighborhood where Cascade Cottage is located is beautiful and felt very safe. Overall, our only complaint about the property was that the check-out directions were not very clear and were simply to leave the property as we found it. We would have preferred very specific instructions such as how much cleaning needed to be done by us, what should be done with linens, etc. Some side notes for people considering this rental - As the property is located above a garage, it can be noisy at times. Since we had an infant with us and were almost always already awake, this was not much of an issue but could be to a couple expecting to sleep in late. Also, due to large windows and skylights, the property gets bright early in the morning - again, if you are someone who likes to sleep in late, it makes this difficult.

Owner's Response: Katie, Thank you for your detailed review. I appreciate your kind words and I am happy to hear you enjoyed yourself. Thank you letting me know about the dishes, I have added more of everything. As far as the directions to check out, I only ask that you leave the apartment the way you found it, dishes put away and the trash emptied. Guest do not have to worry about the linens. I sent you an email regarding this. I am sorry that it was noisy for you, our family always tries to be respectful and keep the noise down when we are in the area. I would imagine with a two month old and sleeping it can be challenging. I wish you the best of luck with your new family.

We didn't get a chance to do any hiking or biking, but did get out on the bay sailing. The location is excellent, and the setting is beautiful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Nestled in the redwoods at the base of Mt. Tamalpais on a winding street with neighbors close by, it is a one-half mile easy walk to the center of town. Our shaded street is quiet, although active with bikers, hikers, and people walking their dogs or pushing strollers, since it is a natural destination for enjoying the beauty of Cascade Canyon. Hiking paths are close by, as is a stream that runs to a nearby wooded park set with benches and picnic tables.

Due to the fact we are surrounded by Redwoods, you could have difficulty with cell coverage. Verizon has the best coverage here.
