Minutes to the most beautiful library on the West Coast and a fabulous downtown with great stores and restaurants. We do have a steep driveway you need to walk up to and twenty steps to the cottage. Keywords: Private until , clean, beautifully decorated with large kitchen, a fireplace. Nestled in the redwoods. 10 minute walk to downtown, along the creek, next to many bike and hiking trails.
Happy family of four. We love Mill Valley for all the wonderful things it offers.
Kendra Pollack purchased this studio in 2011
We love our part of town. You are surrounded by redwoods, water and the creek.
We have a stand alone apartment. The property is private, clean and everything is new. If you love to cook, it is a large, fully loaded and functional kitchen. Location provides the serenity of the redwoods but is a short walk to our fabulous town.
If you enjoy hiking, we have amazing trails to Muir Woods and Stinson beach. You can always take the Stage Coach back if needed.
You could hop on a bus to Sausalito from the bottom of Dipsea steps, about 10 minute walk from the house.
Uber service is a quick and easy way to get around the area as well. They'll come get you at the end of your hike!
Mill Valley Depot is just a short walk -- (less than 10minutes). Catch commuter buses to San Francisco or head into picturesque Sausalito. While there, adventure over to Alcatraz or Angel Islands via ferry.
It's an approximate 40-50 minute trip by car to San Francisco International Airport. The Oakland International Airport can be reached in approximately 45-50 minutes.
Muir Woods; 20 min by car to entrance ; 90 minutes to walk
Mt. Tam: 2 min by car to entrance off Panoramic Highway
I love the hiking and biking trails. We bike to Sausalito, take the ferry to San Francisco for the best meals in California. The wine country is an hour away, Stinson beach, we hike to Muir beach. Tuesday night you don't want to miss Mark Pitta at the Throckmorton Theater for a great night of comedy.
We traveled to San Francisco for our 10 year wedding anniversary, staying in San Fran 2 nights, Mill Valley for 2 nights and then in Napa for a night. The highlight of our trip was here in Mill Valley at Kendra's property. It was absolutely wonderful. We are back home now but are still talking about how nice it was, hoping that we will be able to stay there again one day. The place is set up wonderfully, furnished beautifully, very private, clean, comfy and very relaxing. The location is also great. It is walking distance to the great town of Mill Valley where we enjoyed coffee, breakfast, shopping, and happy hour. We loved walking through the streets lined with red woods, looking at the beautiful houses, and breathing in the cool crisp air.
Staying in this beautiful studio was the highlight of places we visited during our California Anniversary trip! It is furnished with comfort and features a new kitchen and bath. The fireplace added warmth and coziness. The location is unique and convenient to shopping, restaurants, woods, beaches, wine country, and minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge. Kendra is a very special host! She made us feel like family and made our stay special! We wished we could have had more time there, and highly recommend it. Ray & Susan R.
The location is terrific, the natural environment of trees and shrubs is calming and peaceful. The cottage is charming with very nice furnishings and décor.Mill Valley is one of my favorite places in the US.
Kendra was a gracious and welcoming host.
The location was awesome. We were able to walk to town which is lovely with great shops and restaurants. We made this our home base and drove to Sausalito one afternoon; took the ferry over to San Francisco where we toured Alcatraz and toured the city another afternoon.
It was the perfect location. We ran out of time and need to go back. Our next trip we plan to hike the dipsea trail. Can't wait to visit Mill Valley again and will definitely stay here.
My husband loves to hike, I love to shop and explore funky towns. This was the perfect combination of both.
The apartment was spotless, comfy and in a great location. Perfect getaway!
First, I need to say that Kendra the Property Manager is excellent. She responded nearly instantly to any question and was very helpful.
The studio is just enough away from central Mill Valley to feel secluded but not too far to be inconvenient. The walk into town takes a little over 15 minutes and passes through a park with towering redwood trees. In fact, "towering redwoods" is pretty much the default theme of the entire area.
The studio is well appointed and modern with a full kitchen and laundry facilities in the garage. The area is very quiet with very little traffic. The only real noise was when the property owner opens/closes the garage door (the studio is above the garage) but this only happens once or twice a day.
One thing to be aware of: Parking is at the bottom of a steep driveway so if you are not fully mobile or have a load of luggage you might have difficulty getting up to the studio.
Overall a lovely, relaxing place to stay. We've already booked another visit!
While my other relatives were staying at a cookie-cutter motel, I was in the beautiful Cascade Cottage, surrounded by redwoods.
Tucked into a scenic drive, the cottage is even better than described. I highly recommend Cascade Cottage for a get-away.
In the morning, a short walk into Mill Valley, will give you several great choices for breakfast.
You can then stop in Mill Valley Market to stock the kitchen.
The comfortable bed and the extreme quietness of the cottage, made a good night's sleep very easy.
Nestled in the redwoods at the base of Mt. Tamalpais on a winding street with neighbors close by, it is a one-half mile easy walk to the center of town. Our shaded street is quiet, although active with bikers, hikers, and people walking their dogs or pushing strollers, since it is a natural destination for enjoying the beauty of Cascade Canyon. Hiking paths are close by, as is a stream that runs to a nearby wooded park set with benches and picnic tables.
Due to the fact we are surrounded by Redwoods, you could have difficulty with cell coverage. Verizon has the best coverage here.
