Dan's family has deep roots in the Brainerd area. His parents purchased and operated Noka Sippi Resort in the late 60's. Wanting to stay connected to family and friends Dan bought the cabin in 2000.
Daniel R. Herzog purchased this cabin in 2000
The Brainerd lakes area has always been a very comfortable setting for recreation, the night life or just being pulled in an inner tube behind the boat. We enjoy unwinding, entertaining friends and family in a relaxing environment.
We arrived the Sunday before Labor day and stayed for 3 nights. It was very peaceful and relaxing even with a little bit of bad weather. Our dogs were able to come with and enjoy some time away from the city with us. The cabin was in great shape with every amenity we needed available to us. Cooking supplies, bedding, towels, firewood, blankets, boat, life jackets. It was all there and we felt very at home. We drove to Nisswa one day and did some shopping. Otherwise we sat around the cabin and read, had fires, cooked, went fishing, and enjoyed nature. Most importantly, the Herzog's were great. They were easy to deal with and prompt in replying to emails. We're very thankful they let us use their cabin.
This is our 3rd time at the cabin. Nice, quiet area, great cabin; with everything you could need. Love the fishing off the dock, great shopping in Nisswa, and time to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Had a couple of fires outdoors, canoeing, walking and biking nearby on the Paul Bunyan trail. We need most of our cooking right there, but many places to go and eat. Great place to bring your grandchildren, because they can fish right off the dock. The cabin is very clean and the owners are very nice and want you to call with any problems.
We were looking for a quiet, peaceful place to vacation and this was perfect. We immediately felt at home. The cabin is comfortable, adorable, and super clean. I liked that there was enough room to unload the suitcases, park our car, and stretch out for the week. We caught fish from the dock, had a few fires, canoed around the lake, and relaxed while watching some football. We've always wanted a paddleboard, so we bought one in Nisswa and paddled all over the lake. We had our English lab with us and he was in heaven. We found a locals bar, not far from the cabin, and even though it may look a bit rough around the edges, we really enjoyed the food there and the people were nice. We liked being at the cabin so much, we didn't want to leave it for long, so we went back a few times. Dan was really nice and even though we didn't need to call, I knew we could reach him if we needed anything. Thank you for everything; we hope to be back soon!
Our family had a great time relaxing at the Herzog's cabin. We fished, swam, went out on the boat, had several campfires, and just had a peaceful time. The cabin came equipped with everything you would need. I highly recommend this cabin and we look forward to returning.
What a great week we had!. Our family spent a week at the Herzog cabin. We rented the motor so we went on boat rides and fishing. The weather was perfect! We caught a couple bass and many pan fish while on the boat and also right off the dock. The kids relaxed on floaties in the water, we grilled, sat around the campfire and had smores, and did a lot of relaxing. Dan was very responsive to any questions we had prior to our trip. He was also very quick to respond to questions we had while there. The cabin was furnished so well. It really felt like we were at our own place. We totally enjoyed our time and would highly recommend this cabin and look forward to returning someday.
Spent 7 days here with my husband and Daughter/son in law and 2-1/2 yr old granddaughter for 1/2 the week. Dock and shoreline we such a treat for swimming. brought own boat so fishing/tubing were great. I don't think our dog could swim anymore. house was furnished with all the comforts of home. So if you want to just pack clothes and food, this cabin has everything for your needs. Had a wonderful time, I'd recommend this rental..
