Yvette & Ed Samuel purchased this apartment in 2001
We were attracted to this area because of its peacefulness, its beautiful scenery and its prized location, which although a private neighborhood, is still not cut off from all the conveniences of shopping and attractions. It is also close to some very beautiful beaches.
The area is quiet, clean and safe with beautiful surroundings.
It offers privacy and the value for money is unmatched.
You can even pick your own fruits when in season.
My husband and I would describe our stay at Tropical Pearl intriguing, relaxing and invigorating after coming from our hectic schedules and commuting in Toronto.
We arrived at this apartment on July 21st and stayed for one month. We were pleasantly surprised with the luscious surroundings of greenery and colours of red, lilac and yellow flowers which brought back pleasant memories of our honeymoon.
The apartment is very well maintained, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, cutlery etc. If there is something you require otherwise, you can ask Yvette or Ed and they will get it for you.
You will hear the birds chirping in the morning. You can also pick fruit of your choice and look at the tropical fish which includes tilapia in their five fish ponds. If you are lucky, you get your tilapia for dinner from the fish pond.
Yvette and Ed were very committed to making our stay as enjoyable as it was. We are already planning for next year’s trip.
We would definitely recommend persons seeking to get away from it all to stay at “Tropical Pearl”.
We just finished a six month stay with Yvette and Ed Samuel they were very welcoming and helped us enjoy or stay. The photo's that are on this site are very accurate and reflect a nicely furnished two bedroom apartment, that is quite well appointed and very clean. Ed is retired and is available all the time to help if you have things you need and he is constantly working on his property, gardening, building (at present is working on a covered patio with a BBQ area), the mango's that grow on the property are fantastic and in the seasons that they ripen there were more than we could eat, there are also other tropical fruit depending on the season. This property is located in a very quiet residential community and from our experience very safe we did not even hear of any issues the entire time we were there. The village of Mile and a Quarter is a short walk 10min and has a bakery service station and a great market that has almost all the groceries and supplies you would need as well as a hardware store. Bus transportation is available from Mile and a Quarter and from there you can access the network of bus routes to anywhere on the island. The beach that is closest is a 40min walk down hill or in our case a 5min. drive, we had a car during our stay and enjoyed the freedom to travel where and when we wanted. The extra bedroom or studio apartment is accessed by a separate door and is very nice with private bath and a full kitchen this could be a little more clear in the description. Speightstown is the closest larger town and is a really great place with a very long history and a more historic look and some great places to eat and drink one of our favorites was the Orange Street Grocer.
We recommend this property for those seeking a quite stay away from the typical touristy beach scene.
In this quiet neighbourhood a must see is the Port Ferdinand Marina and the Farley Hill National Park. The place to purchase freshly baked bread, croissants cannot be left out, along with the Junction where you can obtain supplies from groceries to your hardware needs.
