We had a spectacular stay at Halekailani. It was the perfect house for our group of 11, all old friends celebrating the 60th birthday of 5 of us. The staff at Luxury Retreats, the concierge service, and at the house, including its management, housekeeping, and maintenance teams, were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and responsive to our every query and need. They helped us identify a wonderful chef, who prepared two special meals for all of us (definitely "fit for foodies!"). They also assisted us with various touring arrangements, and all their recommendations were spot on. The house itself is perfectly located, beautifully kept, and about as peaceful as can be imagined. Each of our guests had space to her/himself as needed, and we found ourselves collectively enjoying the common areas for cocktails at sunset and breakfast and dinner outside. The house was equipped with everything we needed--from snorkeling gear to dishware and beach towels. Heavenly indeed!
This was the nicest and warmest home we have stayed in during our many years of vacationing together.
The villa greatly exceeded our expectations and was truly beautiful! It was the perfect setting for our family vacation and provided complete relaxation during our stay. The location and ability to walk to the Mauna Lani Beach and Hotel was wonderful. Good proximity to the Mauna Lani shopping center for groceries & dining. The views and sunsets were phenomenal. It was a great base for explorations during the day.
Overall,we have a WONDERFUL time! Our goal with renting the home was to be able to have communal areas where all levels of our 10 person group could easily mingle together. And we did! Breakfast started at about 5:30 and lasted til the last person woke around 8:30. Our youngest member was 2.5 and oldest was 75. There were areas where each could come and enjoy coffee, food and company easily. The views on the lanai were STUNNING! Morning times were spent visiting and looking for whales! The pools offered ocean views or warmer waters. The kitchen and BBQ area cooked 15+ meals and save 50% of our food/beverage budget. The putting green gave my brother and husband a great mini-golf game... my nephew also got in on the action too. The beach was just a 5 minute walk and allowed for the ease of our group to come and go easily. Snorkeling was great down there too! We were even able to drive our two senior citizens down to the restaurant for lunch and managed to get them down to the beach too!
Slow down or speed up. So much to do and see on the Big Island. This is the perfect spot to also do nothing. With special areas all over in this house, you can relax by the pool overlooking the ocean, relax by the interior pool in the cool shade with a water feature, whip up a meal in the ocean view kitchen--you pick. You can eat outside looking at the ocean or inside looking at the ocean (formally or informally) in air conditioning. Everyone has a space to spread out and everyone has space to be together. Favorite spots to read. Favorite spots to watch the sunrise and sunset. This is my favorite place on the Island.
