A house in Pleasure Point…a dream come true for us. Permit number 151171. Three bedrooms, one and a half baths, a good-size kitchen, large yard. Enjoy the magnificent view of Monterey Bay out the living room window or from the front porch chairs. Experience beautiful Pleasure Point and the walking and bike trails that meander along the bluff overlooking the Bay. You can also take a short path to the family-friendly 26th Ave. beach.
The house is located in the Santa Cruz sunbelt in one of the best neighborhoods in Pleasure Point, a world-famous surfing destination. Shopping, groceries and restaurants are all nearby in either Capitola or Santa Cruz, and don’t miss the historic Boardwalk—always a big hit with the kids. We have four adult bicycles (no helmets, please bring your own) for riding along the Point or through the quiet neighborhoods. We also have a barbeque, picnic table, and furniture in the large back yard, a great place to enjoy the sun. We like to walk down to the bluff every evening and watch the magnificent sunsets over Monterey Bay.
Recent improvements include a cozy gas fireplace, and upgrades to the heating system.
We have a washer and dryer, dishwasher, and 42' flat screen TV (with Blu-Ray player). Our Master bedroom has a Queen size bed with 1/2 bath attached. Additional bedroom has a queen bed also, and the third room has two twin beds.
All of our neighbors live in Santa Cruz full time and are our friends. We want guests to respect them and our precious family get away. We hope you will enjoy Santa Cruz as much as we have and that you will have a relaxing vacation at our special home away from home.

Mike and I call Modesto our home and have rasied our 2 children there. We love Santa Cruz, the Boardwalk, beach, the fabulous sunsets and sharing all of that with family and friends.
Mary McGranahan purchased this house in 2010
Having a vacation home in Santa Cruz has been a dream of our family for many generations. We have spent summers there as long as I can remember. We love the relaxed atmosphere of Santa Cruz, fabulous beaches, quaint shops, and of course the fun nights spent at the SC Beach Boardwalk!
Unobstructed view of the ocean from the house. Walk one block to watch surfers at Pleasure Point - a famous surf spot. Take a short walk to the local 26th avenue beach for sunbathing and ocean play. Great SUNSETS there! Point Cafe, formerly Elizabeth's, is just up the street for your morning cup of great coffee, with a breakfast and lunch menu available.
Centrally located to shopping, groceries, restaurants, seaside activities, Capitola, Historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Staying here was just a wonderful and enjoyable experience for our family this past Memorial Day weekend. From the very clean and beautifully decorated home, to the spacious backyard, comfortable beds, walking distance to the beach (just down the street along a path), local market with delicious breakfast burritos & food you just can't go wrong with this home! We enjoyed watching the many surfers headed out to catch the waves in the morning and evening, walking or riding the (provided) beach cruisers along the long pleasure point walkway and enjoying the ocean views on a daily basis. Our 3 young children absolutely loved large backyard and grass. Before the usual beach fog cleared up in the morning it was great to have somewhere for them to run around and play to get all of that excess energy out. We also LOVED that there were wagons available to use to haul stuff to the beach (with small kids and their sand toys/towels/fun toys this was extremely helpful) as well as several beach chairs, boogie boards and all kinds of fun stuff. We also BBQ'd at home and rented movies on a nightly basis (Redbox is just a couple blocks away) or went down to the local market for ice cream. We also had family stop in during our stay and they absolutely loved everything about the home as well. Overall fabulous stay and Mary (owner) is a joy to work with and very responsive answering any questions. Just a wonderful person. Dawn as well was very helpful in showing us the home upon arrival and offering her services during our stay. Thanks again Mary!
Our son was married at the Seymour Marine Center. I'm so happy to have found this adorable, clean home. It was perfect for our 94 yr old mom. She was very comfortable along with the 3 generations staying with us. It was a plus to have the bicycles to enjoy the road that runs along the ocean.
House is located in excellent location of santa cruz - nice residential neighborhood, close to ocean and nice walking path, near to restaurants and coffee shops.
House is as beautiful and good as on pictures, and landlord is super responsive.
I am a little late writing this review, but better late than never! This house was so incredibly cute and helped make for a perfect vacation! There was 5 of us and we all had plenty of room. Everything was so perfect. We visited the market (courtesy of the little blue binder, which by the way was extremely helpful if you don't know the area well) and we grilled out on the grill in the backyard, which the backyard was also so cute and spacious. Our favorite nights were the ones just hanging around the house and riding bikes around the area. In the mornings my mom would sit outside on the porch and people walking would walk by and compliment on the landscape of the front yard! I am counting down the days till we can make another trip to Santa Cruz! We were grateful for such a wonderful house!
This house is perfect for a family and a beach vacation. The back yard is huge! The wagons, toys, boards and towels make things amazingly easy. Pleasure Point is wonderful. We highly recommend the breakfast burritos from the market down the street. Mary and Mike are lovely and helpful. We plan to return.
My friends and I (3 adults, 2 children total) just stayed at the home. We cannot rave about it enough. The owners are kind and helpful, and the house came well equipped for fun in Santa Cruz and the surrounding area. They had 2 wagons to haul things to the beach (about a 5 minute walk), tons of chairs, boogie boards, bicycles, a croque game (great for their backyard), a lovely patio area with grill, picnic style table, chairs to people watch and watch sunset from on the front porch, and a well stocked kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year again.
Quite literally, the only problem we had was there was no potato masher but we made do with a fork and a hand mixer.
