I think this place and the area is very unique and you can make good memory here with your family ,friends or by your self .
My husband, two year old and I loved being in this spot with Ewa and her family. My son loved the chickens, the sweet dogs and the spacious yard to roam and explore. Nice touches with a record player, spinning Edith Piaf. Ewa gave us fresh eggs and cookies as part of our welcome.
The beds were comfortable and the décor was lovely. Ewa gave us great tips for exploring the area and made us feel so comfortable.
We look forward to our next visit!
I just returned from a lovely stay at Ewa’s attached suite, and could not have been more pleased! What a relaxing environment! As described by another guest, the “Artful, European-style” décor is wonderful. I found both the bedroom and sun room spacious enough, with plenty of room for my belongings…and I do not travel lightly! Although I was traveling alone, I do think the bedroom has a quite a romantic feel – and the bed was very comfortable. I love all of the windows throughout the suite.
The wall heaters and space heaters provided plenty of warmth in this cold weather (low 50s). Additionally, the space heater and/or wicker table can be easily moved, if there is any concern about walking about easily in the sun room. This was not an issue for me at all. As stated on the listing, the kitchen is not a full kitchen suitable for major cooking, but it worked fine for me and I appreciated the drip coffee maker and coffee supplies, with cream in the fridge.
I chose this rental because I didn’t want a one-room hotel room, and I wanted a pretty, homey, country feel. I was not disappointed. I loved having the separate bedroom and sun room areas. And Ewa could was very sweet and helpful. The dogs and chickens were also very cute, and the dogs were friendly.
We were so comfortable here. The dogs and chickens were a bonus, not to mention the fresh eggs Ewa gave us when we arrived. We would stay here again if we were in the area. It was conveniently located near all the Point Reyes National Seashore visiting areas. The town of Iverness is right down the street and Point Reyes Station was a couple minutes away. Definitely a great stay.
Ewa has a little gem of a cottage. Artful, European-style, with vintage records to play. Your entertainment includes a raft of chickens and three sweet dogs in a country setting. Kitchen is tiny, but workable. And Ewa does the dishes for you! A great stay.
I wish there had been more realistic reviews for me so I could have be more prepared.
Firstly, there is no central heat. There are two space heaters with the cords running across the room, creating a potential hazardous situation of tripping over the cords. It was cool during our stay so heat was required.
Secondly and amazingly, there is no kitchen sink! Our quart water bottle did not fit under the bathroom sink faucet, so it had to be filled from the shower - quite a mess. Ewa washed our dishes for us daily, and in fact, owners were as accommodating as they could be given the circumstances.
Contrary to the vrbo advertisement: I don’t know what makes this a romantic bedroom. It is slightly larger than the queen bed. Rooms were so small we had to leave our suitcases out in the car and only bring in the few things we needed. There is NOT a large sunroom, but a narrow walled-in porch that is impassable if you pull the TV out and have to maneuver around the space heater.
As for the “kitchen”, the electric oven is a TOASTER oven! Not what I expected. There is NO coffee maker! Filling the tea kettle for water to heat up was a story by itself. There is a way to heat water and manually drip it through a filter like I do when I go camping. For the fairly high nightly rental fee, I should not have to resort to camping coffee. This minor detail was such an aggravating way to start each day, especially when an electric drip coffee maker can be purchased for $10. The photograph shown of the mini-fridge with appliances above is the entire kitchen, not just a portion of it. It consists of counter appliances with not enough outlets for all of them. The grill is available if you bring your own charcoal. There is a “grill box” with no instructions on how to use and no oil if you did figure it out.
The bathroom is much smaller than tiny such that you cannot even stand in front of the sink/mirror because that is where the toilet is. The shower was great. Rooms were clean and soaps were provided. There were good reading lights throughout the rooms, except the kitchen which only had a small dim plug-in lamp.
This place would be acceptable for an overnight or if you plan to eat out in restaurants. But if you like to prepare your own meals, as we do, it is just not equipped for that. We are not really all that fussy but do expect heat and a kitchen to have a sink. We will not be back.
Ewa and Gene's place is great, very unique, charming, clean and fun. From the animals around the property to the perfect location, I really enjoyed my stay. The record player and great selection of records was a wonderful surprise, and even though it is a simple kitchen I was able to make meals and have great coffee every morning. There main sitting space in the unit is very peaceful and comfortable, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The TV worked fine although I barely used it, because I just chose to look through the multitude of cool books that were stocked in the unit.....very fun. The owners are very nice, pleasant and unobtrusive, making for a really fun experience and stay. I'll be back soon.
This is the best time of the year to be here! If you are looking for a romantic getaway to explore something new or just relax on the beach this is the right place for you.
