A Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this cottage so much this week. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep, eat and relax. The boats and kayaks were such fun. Everything was clean and ready to go for us. There are lots of stairs but that only encouraged us to stay and relax on the deck.

rest and relaxation

Park Pond is a little jewel. Smooth as glass much of our stay. I couldn't get enough kayaking in! Friendly neighbors made us feel welcome in their little piece of paradise. We sat motionless as a family of geese swan up to the property and made themselves at home in the grass.

There are quite a few stairs to navigate down to the water so be advised if you have elderly or infirm in your party.

Though there is lots to do in the area, you may just find yourselves wanting to take in the pond as much as possible. Paddle boat, Kayak and canoes await you.

The cabin is well appointed and quite comfortable.

Thanks Dale!

We have stayed at this home many times and have loved every single time. This home makes us feel like home. The owners ( Dale & Gail) are great. We will definitely be back next year.

My family and I had an amazing time at this house! The lake was amazing and very peaceful. The lake was small so there wasnt a lot of boats on the lake, which is exactly what we wanted. We used the kayaks almost every day to cruise around the lake. The boys loved the dock and spent endless hours jumping off of it and looking at the fish. The deck was a great place to sit after a long day swimming.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We rented this for a family getaway even though most of us are in CT (one person in Idaho) The views were great, boats worked well, and the house was very well stocked with cooking supplies! I would recommend it..I do dread spiders and we had to do some massive spider/web removal on entry walkway and the porch when we got there spider was as big as a fist -no joke! Aside from that it was a great weekend...and obviously spiders in the property and house were not something that is avoidable given the location...

Thanks again Dale and Gail

Owner's Response: We greatly appreciate the 5 star review. We try to keep a boundary between nature and our outdoor space, but spiders do wander into the yard space on occasion. It comes with being close to the lake and woods.

Wonderful Lake House "Away from It All"

  • 4 of 5

We flew into CT for a 5 day Holiday stay to visit family, and were so pleased with this house. The setting is beautiful! Everything we needed was provided, including linens, etc.; and the house was extremely clean when we arrived. The layout of the house worked very well, even for a rainy afternoon with the whole extended family here for a meal. The owner was very quick to respond when we had a need with the house. Our concerns were very few -- if you like to cook a lot the stove does need to be adapted for propane use. Until that is done, the burners will always be high. Also, some of the mattresses are very firm, which was an adjustment for us. We might suggest a couple mattress toppers, esp. for the twin beds. But, overall, we couldn't have been happier. Here's hoping we can visit during the summer, take advantage of the deck & kayaks, do some swimming, and drop our lines into the lake! Thanks for a great stay!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. We had a service tech look at the stove. It was already set up for propane, but he adjusted the stove burner’s low settings. So now if your recipe requires very low heat the stove top will be able to adjust to that. thanks again and we look forward to your next visit.
