About Steve

We love exploring in the desert and hiking

We love the architecture and the history of the home. The house is modernism at it's best. Clean lines and walls of glass. It is very peaceful and quiet with views of the mountains and the house is extremely comfortable with quality beds and fine linens.

Steve purchased this house in 2011

Why Steve chose Palm Springs

We love the neighborhood. We can easily walk a couple of blocks to Kofi coffeshop or the trendy Ace Hotel. We can also walk to the smoke tree shopping area for great resturants-- the best Vegan Resturant in town. Also authentic Vietnamese Resturant and new pizza and pasta. Close to everything yet very quiet neighborhood.

What makes this house unique

One of the best things about our house is that it is so quiet. Three large bedrooms and three baths.

Walking distance to shops and restaurants... including Koffi and the Ace Hotel. We love to go hiking up to the mountains and to the nearby Indian Palm Canyons.

Perfect Get Away

  • 5 of 5

The house as impeccable, beautifully decorated and fully amenitied. We spent 3 days by the pool and found everything we needed. Easy location for access to grocery, restaurants and night life. Rooms were all very comfortable and the owners were super nice and easy to work with. Will definitely be back.

A Wonderful Getaway!! We'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

I wondered if this spot would be too-good-to-be-true... but in reality, this home far exceeded my expectations (which were already high). It was easy communicating with the owner in advance of our stay and arrival instructions were easy enough to follow. The home is very spacious and accommodated three couples easily. The living room looks onto the most serene pool. The outside view is just amazing... palm trees and mountains! The neighborhood is beautiful with rows of houses that are kept up to their mid-century modern glory. We walked easily to the Ace Hotel for a rehearsal dinner and wedding. I cannot speak to the original appliances (stove and microwave) as we did not use them, but the fridge and dishwasher are modern. I absolutely would come back to this home next time we venture to Palm Springs! Loved it.

Lovely, spacious, comfortable home with great pool--and perfect location

  • 4 of 5

We were excited when friends (two different sets of friends) told us they had a great stay at the home where Ray Bradbury used to live. We finally got to experience the place ourselves and it was just about perfect. Very spacious, with three bedrooms, each with a lot of privacy. An inviting living/dining area overlooking the beautiful pool. Very well stocked kitchen--we cooked and barbecued when we felt like staying home. Very cool mid modern neighborhood, nicely located. A couple of blocks from the Ace Hotel, which has great food, and from Koffi, where the whole neighborhood congregates in the mornings. You can rent bikes and bike everywhere. We did without a car just fine (with some help from Uber). Only glitches were a) problems with the pool heater, which seems unreliable and b) no cable (in the middle of the playoffs). Steve said the previous guests had reported the cable problem, so we wished he'd taken care of it in time for our visit. I'm sure it's fixed by now, in any case. All in all, a fabulous weekend and we would definitely return.

Owner's Response: Hi Susan - we're so glad you enjoyed the home and neighborhood. And are very sorry to hear about the issues during your stay. Needless to say the pool heater is newer (3yrs) and the issue was the pool service forgot to turn off the timer - so the heater was only on for a few hours a day. We corrected the issue mid-way thru your stay and refunded the heating fee completely for the inconvenience. In addition, the TV cable was somehow disconnected at the pole and unfortunately it took a few days for the cable company to schedule a repairman. We hope you will consider a return stay and I promise all is in good working order.

Desert trip at the Ray Bradbury house.

  • 5 of 5

Best friend from high school lives in CA. We live on the east coast. Met with our him and wives for Desert trip concert, 3 nights of our generation rock and roll.

As they have three boys I found the Ray Bradbury house,it sleeps seven . For the first time in eleven years of they left the boys with friends so we had an adult weekend. Just four of us.

We loved the house. Like visiting a museum and staying. The pool was so relaxing as we needed to recharge prior to each nights concerts. We will always come back and stay at the Ray Bradbury house. Thank you Steve.

Worst Palms Springs Stay Ever!!

  • 1 of 5

We arrived to a very old home that was falling apart! I know it's shown as a 1950's gem, but for modern times it should be kept in better condition. Door knobs, faucets, fixtures were all not working properly.

BUGS, ROACHES, WORMS inside the house and pool!!! Entire house was filled with these un-invited guests. Disgusting!!!

A/C is old and not working properly. House had a bad moldy smell comming from carpet... the carpet is white and owner charged hundreds extra cleaning fee because we got few stains from juice. Also, owner will try to keep your deposited for any small issues that he can find.

Neighbor called police at 8:30pm 2 times because they said we made too much noise.

Overall this was the worst trip we had. I went back to Palm Springs the following week and stayed somewhere else which was much nicer so I can enjoy the time that I had lost at this horrible home. Why do you things it's soon cheap? You really get what you pay for!!! Choose a different home!

Owner's Response: I'm very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay and am very surprised by your review - especially since so many other guest have enjoyed Mid-Century character of the home. All I can assume is that this is in response to the issues during your stay - specifically the City of Palm Springs were called twice to the home because of noise complaints. Also there were more than the number of guest allowed by the city and I was charged a fee which I passed on to you. We welcome guests who are respectful to the home and neighborhood.

Great Place for Relaxing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful place to stay for a relaxing vacation. Quiet and spacious. There is a grill right outside the kitchen. The pool is wonderful to lay out in the sun or to stargaze at night. Also if you wake up early you can see a beautiful sunrise right outside the front door. You can also see San Jacinto off to the distance. There is a great coffee shop within walking distance. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms. All the rooms are well decorated. The kitchen has retro appliances which are a delight to cook with.
