When I first started to plan my trip to the Smokey Mountains I panicked because I was finding cabins around $300 and night, which was out of my price range. I was delighted when I found the Next to Heaven cabins but then days before we left I started to panic again wondering why it was so much cheaper.
The cabins are only 25 miles outside of Knoxville and less than 20 miles from both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The cabin was secluded but accessible. The road up to the cabin is quite steep and since we got in at night, I was a little shocked to see what I had drove the next morning, maybe it was better that way. When we had an issue with the kitchen sink it was resolved quickly. We never did get the internet to work but I wasn't really concerned, I figured we were better off without it. We used the kitchen heavily and it worked just fine, limited counter space but decently equipped. We used the hot tub nearly every night. Out of the four Next to Heaven Cabins I feel like #4 Rich Mountain View was the most private. We had two cabins above us and one on each side but none blocking our views or any that could see in our balcony or windows. Right down the hill is horse back riding and zipline facilities and we did do both. It made for a nice day. Also right down the road was River Rat Tubing which was my favorite part of my trip. The only reason why I didn't give the cabin five stars is because there is only one shower. The other bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which did no good for two adults and two teenage girls, I could see it being nice for a romantic trip but for a girl's weekend it was taxing to share one shower. I would book this cabin again, without a doubt!

Disappointed is an understatement. We stayed here 2 nights and it is the first place that I wanted to leave early. There were 3 adults and 2 children, ages 3 and 5, in our group. The cabin was not ready at the 4 pm check in time. There were popcorn remnants on the floor. The cushions on the dinette chairs were absolutely filthy with stains. There is no door to divide the master bedroom from the master bathroom...the whole area is open which provides NO privacy. The cabinetry underneath the kitchen sink had obvious water damage and looked as if it may fall through. All the bedding linens and towels smelled of cigarette smoke and the blanket left for use on the sofa bed smelled of body odor. The plates were put away without being dried, there were puddles of water in between them. I emailed management while we were occupying the cabin. They offered to have the cabin cleaned again. The response to my complaint was received after 7pm before our scheduled check out the next morning. It was pointless to have them clean again. Never again.
Recently my sister and I stayed at Cabin #4 for two nights. We enjoyed our stay immensely! The caretakers at the bottom of the drive could not have been more helpful or friendly. The cabin had everything we needed and was an excellent location for trips sightseeing or exploring.
What a great location! Super close to the Smoky Mountains while being tucked away enough to have your own private escape. Just off the main road in Townsend, which itself is cute and quaint, and heading up the mountain, we pulled into our cabin which was all we could have wanted and more. The beds were comfortable, we had more than enough linen for our entire stay and the hot tub was amazing (especially post race since we were there for the half marathon!). The cabin is just behind a great zip lining and horse back riding stable too, perfect for some adventure seekers or things to do with children. I certainly recommend the cabin for a GSM escape!
We loved this cabin it was exactly as pictured and described. It was close enough to everything but also far enough away. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of towels washcloths pillows etc. for our three night stay. We got to see a black bear on our last morning there. The hot tub was great, it was not overly chlorinated like some rental unit hot tubs where I have been in the past. The Jacuzzi tub was also awesome maybe a little loud, but large enough for two, and the temperature, pressure and supply of hot water was fantastic. We visited Cades Cove winery which was less than 10 miles away and they had a delicious selection of wines to choose from and free tasting. Pigeon Forge was only about a 15 to 20 minute drive and that puts you close to the end of pigeon forge toward Gatlinburg which is another 15-20 min of scenic driving. The IGA in Townsend was only about 4 miles away which made it very convenient for getting groceries in. We did have a small issue upon arrival and called the property manager Anna who solved our problem immediately. The refundable damage deposit was back in my account very quickly after departure. The only suggestion I have is if you're going to do a lot of cooking you might bring one nice large pan because theirs are small and worn, which is typical in my experience when renting cabins and condos that are frequently rented by novice cooks.
First trip to the Tennessee, we had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, spacious and had a beautiful view.
It was so beautiful! The cabin was very clean and had plenty of room. It was very comfortable beds and loved the jacuzzi in the bedroom. My favorite was the horse rides that where on site and the views from the cabin and the area was so breath taking! I highly recommend it to anyone and it was very affordable.
