About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath w/ four fireplaces

Tucked away on a historic street, Casa de la Boda (the Wedding House) offers the perfect east-side location for your Santa Fe adventure. Located just two blocks from Canyon Road and short stroll to the Santa Fe Plaza this lovingly remodeled two-bedroom adobe home blends the charm of it’s historic roots with the modern conveniences of a comfortable lifestyle. (If you need a 3 Bedroom check out our sister property #4570429)

A rambling flagstone patio with kiva fireplace and hot tub greet you as you enter the property. Inside, each bedroom offers an en-suite bath and private fireplace and W Hotel-brand pillow top mattresses (1 King, 1 Queen) ensure a good night’s sleep. French doors from both the living and dining areas open to the patio to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. The home is bathed in light from skylights and the bedrooms and living areas are kept comfortable by a central evaporative cooling unit. Radiant heated floors greet bare feet each morning in the winter. Just outside it’s courtyard walls are two, private parking spaces.

Named for the generations of the Garcia family (Garcia Street) that built a home on this lane each time a family member married, Casa de la Boda continues a rich tradition of life and love for everything Santa Fe has to offer. Permit No. 16-00135481

About Rick Tackett

As former residents of Denver we loved coming to Santa Fe on a regular basis. Now that we're locals we wanted to create a place that's perfect for a small family or two couples to come and soak up the local arts and culture.

Now, when the property isn't being enjoyed by guests, we'll spend a couple days there and walk to all the things that attracted us to Santa Fe in the first place.

Why Rick Tackett chose Santa Fe

We purchased the property before it even went on the market. It just took one look at the courtyard area and the quallity of the home (remodeled by a Denver architect about 10 years ago) to see the potential as the perfect getaway.

I'm happy to post a positive review.

We looked everywhere for that frisbee - not sure how we missed it!

Thankfully, we have many replacements so feel free to wash and recycle for

the next guest or one of the local rescues.

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful casita and bring our dogs.

That made our always wonderful trip to Santa Fe even more special. We couldn't ask for better customer service.

Have a wonderful spring and hope to see you again soon!

Best Place We've Stayed in Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

This little house is wonderful. It's looks just like the photos. Both inside and on the patio, it is comfortable and peaceful. We cooked dinner a couple nights. The kitchen is well furnished for cooking and dining. Great location. The owner was very responsive anytime we had a question or needed help. We come to Santa Fe regularly and have rented many nice places. This is best.

This is a high-end property in a great quiet location about 10-15 mins walk from downtown

This is our 9th VRBO experience. We arrived late on Thursday night. Our first surprise was that there was no bottle of wine to welcome us to the property (all the other VRBO's that we have used provided this). We were also surprised to find an infestation of ants in the master bathroom, with ants also in the master bedroom on the floor, the bed, and the bedside table.

The next morning, the ladies in our party were shocked to find there was no shampoo provided - so we added it to our shopping list for that day. There was only one hairdryer that we could find so the ladies had to coordinate their hair drying.

On the Saturday, we were going to be out all day so I emailed the owner regarding the ant infestation and he came out and sprayed while we were away from the property - but of course we had many lingering ants - I counted a dozen in the bath on Saturday night.

Kitchen was well stocked with high-end appliances, sufficient glassware etc. We didn't get to use the fires but logs and fire starters were provided. Good instructions for the VRBO and plenty of maps of local places to visit.

This was a great place to stay - even better if my concerns above are addressed.

Owner's Response: The sudden ant invasion came as a surprise to us as well and I certainly understand the guests "yuk" factor. As they mentioned we responded that same day. We have a long history of 5 star reviews and deeply regret the inconvenience.

A slice of Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Casa de la Boda. The house has a great vibe with lots of natural light. Our favorite part was sitting by the fire in the courtyard kiva. Convenient to the center of town. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful Casa de la Boda

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here! Very charming and perfectly appointed. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! We really enjoyed having a fire every night in the courtyard as well as soaking in the hot tub and watching the stars.

Quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Rick, our host was responsive and accommodating and very kind. Hope to stay here again!

Pretty much perfect

  • 5 of 5

We spent a delightful week here with our daughter and her husband. This adobe (well, everything in Santa Fe is adobe) casa isn't grande, but really nice and totally adequate for two couples who don't want to see one another in their underwear. Comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms, nice bathrooms, good enough kitchen to easily produce a meal. It's an easy walk to the trendy art galleries and into the heart of the historic city. Bandelier and Kasha-Katuwe Nat'l Monuments and Santa Fe Nat'l Forest are close for hiking. Madrid is a great day trip too for art and weird stuff. And the occasional dingo. The Casa isn't far from grocery stores (Whole Foods/Trader Joe's/Albertson's Supermarket) and other necessities. When the gas grill ran out of fuel, I emailed our Host and he showed up the next morning with a new tank. This was our 4th or 5th VRBO; it's just great!
